I think it comes down to practice and knowing your equipment and how to shoot. Last year at the SE3GC my buddy kept telling me how I was screwing myself using a 1-4 when everyone has 1-6's now. I shot the long range stage faster then any of friends that were using the 1-6's. I keep telling myself that I need a 1-6 but I have yet to shoot a stage that I walked away saying that I would have done better if I had one. A match I was at last year I had a guy in my squad that had a JP rifle with a Swarovski scope and every high end bell and whistle you would ever want. He couldn't hit steel at 100yards with. Another guy had a palmetto armory kit gun with a scope from Walmart he had about $600 total in the rifle and he was the stage winner for a stage with 11 shots from 300-500 yards. You spend all the money you want buying the best stuff but you still have to put in work to get the hits.

I was rolling the gun over for load2 but I am trying to stock on shoulder method for quads. I am not fast and haven't had any time to work on it. I would like to see some pics of how guys tuned the shell catch. That is the next part of the gun I am gonna work on.

I was in West Virginia over the weekend and I was told we were having cranberries and cornbread for dinner. Turned out to be pinto beans and corn bread.

Welcome to the forums. I started with IDPA and it just spread out to many other things haha.

The one that always gets me is when it is raining while the sun is shining. I hear people say "the devil is beating his wife." My friend from Italy say "the witch is combing her hair" I just say its raining.

I have a octagon shaped hand guard. The bottom part is flat just not very wide. I like it better then the fat bottom ones I have tried.

Greetings from the outskirts of Chattanooga.

I shot around 3k of them last year the only problem I had was 1 dud. I had this issue when I would shoot around the left side of a wall. Found out I was not giving it enough room to eject out of the gun. I only had problems at one club on a certain bay and finally figured out what I was doing.

Shot my first match with a khar PM40 with a 5 round mag. It was a intro to IDPA match. Shot my first real match with a M&P9. I took about 2 years off and just started back shooting ESR with the 625JM

I got in AM at #259

I have seen precision rifle shooters load rounds at the bench before a match. The one guy I talked to about it was using a lee hand press. He said he could adjust his loads for the heat changes during the day.

Oops yeah should have been He shot them so fast.

The guy that set beside me in my carry class was a true "gangsta" he assured me. Was talking about how many caps he popped every night and how he needed to get a permit in case he got heat from the fuzz. He lived in the backwoods of TN and he assured me that there was tons of "banging" going on in his 1 red light town. He rented a 22 to test with because he was afraid they would link his gun back to some "G shit" he had done. He had it turned sideways when he shot and everything I had no doubt this guy was "solja" like he claimed. He shot the first 10 rounds and said that he was shooting so fast that the bullets were hitting each other in the barrel. Our instructor took the gun away and issued him a refund along with a business card for another instructor. I still get a good laugh out of it.

I trimmed mine up with a knife and it has ran fine for me.

Jesse is there any reason to polish the mag tube or the slide that the bolt rides on? It fells very rough and I have oiled the hell out of it. Maybe it's just something that will work out as it breaks in.

So besides cutting the port what else is everyone doing to theirs?
