  1. waiting for a cloudy day to try again
  2. Powder scale should be OK.It always measures 5 grains when I drop the 5 grain weight on it. Chrono is only about 6 months old so it should be OK also. Only concern I had is I wonder if the sun was hitting the sensors. I had the sun shades on but the sun was not overhead. It was about 2 pm and the sun was coming in at an angle. I keep waiting for a overcast day but nothing coming up soon here in Atlanta area. Would sun hitting the sensors give me lower fps readings? I know overcast days are the best, I keep hoping for overcast days. I heard about putting scotch tape over the sensors to defuse the light
  3. I plan to,,,,that's what started me questioning. Posted data says max load is 4.1 grains with FMJ and at 1070 fps. Im no where near max fps but only .1 grains away from max powder charge. I hope I dont need a slower powder as I just got 4 pounds of this. Everyone seems to use this as the go to powder as the number one choice. I have about 300 of these bootlets left then Im starting to work on some RMR and Xtreme's. These also call for FMJ data, I wonder since the Berrys are hollow base and the RMR's and xtremes are not if I will see a difference here. Here are the pics of my groups
  4. I'm using RN so my OAL is always between that 1.130 and 1.140 magic spot. Your using JHP so your OAL is supposed to be shorter like yours already is. I'm just going to go up slowly .1 grain at a time and watch my fps . I have some made up at 3.9 up to 4.3. Hope to find my PF of 130 around 4.2 or 4.3. Not much else I can do except keep going up slowly
  5. Ok finally got out and pulled the trigger. N320 is brand new to me and I really liked how smooth it is. Question is the load data for fmj is a max 4.1 grains at 1070 fps from the load data on the lapua website I found my best groups at 3.9 gr.and at 955 avg fps They have 950 fps at 3.4 grains at the starting load I went ahead and loaded 6 rounds of each and started at 3.6 instead and worked my way up to 3.7, 3.8, 3.9 and 4.0 Im going to use this for IDPA .. Im sitting at 118 PF for my best groups. Do I keep going up on my grains even tho the load data says max is 4.1 grains? Im afraid I will be up close to 5 grains if I want to get the 130 PF OAL is 1.140, CCI primers and new starline brass
  6. I bet you end up with 4.1. 1050 will give you 130 PF which is what I look for
  7. nope the one I have extra in my hornady box is flat. Like I said these are the only plated bullets that will leave a mark. All others are fine
  8. 124 grain,9mm 1.140 OAl Getting these marks on the Xtreme bullets. I use a Hornady seating die. I get no marks with Berry,RMR or Rainiers. I can run my finger nail over it and I do feel the mark. Will this effect my accuracy enough where I may not want to use these bullets?
  9. Yes I am. I have not had a chance to load and test anymore of them. Been really busy with work and to top it off the wife going through the chemo trip, which will be done next week. But any info I can get on this powder would be great. I really liked how it measured out and have 4 pounds of it
  10. I might. You never know. These last test shots were not to bad for plated and mixed brass
  11. Ok. I went out and shot this AM These are some left over 4.4 grains of HP38 that I used to sight the gun in.I loaded 150 for the match and had some extras to shoot so I could sight in the new gun. They only make a PF of 126 so I need to go up some for 130 PF. Maybe up to 4.6 in powder charge. OAL is still 1.140. You can see how I had to adjust up in the sight and over to the right a bit from mag 1, mag 2, and mag 3 Starting to hand shake a bit on the 3rd and 4th mag Mixed brass 124 grain Berry HBRN at 10 yards both hands. Had to shoot to sight in for IDPA match on Sunday. Still have to play with the WST The other target is from one of my little CZ-82"s makarov round. It had been about 2 months since I had pulled the trigger on one so It took me some time to adjust my point of aim. Up and down were fine I just need to drift the rear sight over to the right a little bit. This was also at about 10 yards standing. 3.6 grains of HP-38. These primers look ok ? they are CCI. Also trying to learn how to read primers that are over pressure You spend so much time on one gun and learning it you forget how the others shoot and have to learn all over again
  12. 10 yards standing both hands HP-38 3.6 grains Berry 93gr.RN
  13. Sorry I forgot to mention. I'm still new to all this as of Feb. Sorry for the repeat questions and the confused ones. Bare with me at times Thanks!!
