  1. We had a good time. Seems as if the rain has been following us all year.
  2. Just opened a box of brass that has the infamous HK grooves on it. I can only assume it came from a 40 cal MP5. I had about 20% of the cases fail to case gauge. Not by much. I am using a Lee factory crimp die and a dillon resizing die. I have 4000 of these so I may just get one of EGWs undersized/full length die. I really figured it would all be good to go since it wasnt glock fired. Is the HK chamber big? I have one and cant tell you. Didnt find out until case gauging in the truck today. I am most likely going to have to shoot it somewhere in the next 2 weeks. Most likely it will work. Might take a mag to the first stage tomorrow and load it up. If any problem move on the the good stuff.
  3. We are in Tulsa. Looking forward to shooting tomorrow and then again tomorrow in Albuquerque.
  4. Actually, we shoot on 1st and 3rd Saturday in ABQ. Also, new startup Wild West Practical Shooters planned this Sunday, 7/29 at the SASS Founders Ranch, where End of Trail just wrapped up. Is that 7/29 or 6/29. If its 6/29 we may be in.
  5. Not to get off-topic, but c'mon formeister...we still need to be responsible when we celebrate...KNOW YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT...Now back to our regularly scheduled programming... I was afraid somebody may think he was serious. What a great day! I have to wonder how this will trickle down with other laws.
  6. Also in Tulsa on Sat 28th is a rifle side match at USSA, shoot both USPSA and the side match. IDPA Ok. state match at USSA too same weekend. Small club 3gun match in Ft Smith AR on Sunday (range is literally 10 minutes off I40) if your running a day late. You can easily make Amarillo from Tulsa after the match. They have allot going on there. Not taking a rifle though. Keeping up with a few handguns is enough for me. Appreciate the help.
  7. Larry, I dont think we will know if we can do the match until Saturday Night. Depends on how far we can make it Saturday. I understand I need to be there by 10am. Been there a couple times before so I should be able to find it.
  8. Just called USSA and they shoot Saturday the 28th at 10. Looks like we are on for that. Going to try to make Amarillo that night. Not sure from there, maybe Santa Fe or Gallup.
  9. Would love to do Colorado but that doesn't fit the schedule. The Junior match in Oregon was canceled or we may have just tried that. Area 4 web page shows USSA in Tulsa shoots the 4th Saturday. Thats pretty close to where we can be Saturday Morning. Their web page doesnt show a calendar so I dont know if they are still shooting that weekend or not. Wichita Falls would be a real stretch in one day. The Sunday that weekend is the 5th Sunday so no luck there.
  10. Looks like the we have Norco and Richmond to choose from the weekend of the 5th & 6th of July. Probably Richmond unless we try to do both since Norco is on Saturday and Richmond is on Sunday. Only 500 miles between them. Need something for the 29th of June which may be hard since its the 5th Sunday.
  11. We are headed out west on vacation Friday. Would like a place to shoot this Sunday somewhere in the midwest, we can change our route a little. We can be in Texas, Oklahoma or New Mexico by Sunday. Somewhere around I40. The following Sunday, July 5th or 6th We will most likely be in California. On the way back we are going to shoot the Great plains match on the 12th of July. Any feed back as to any clubs shooting in those areas on those weekends would be great.
  12. 2008 IN_Section_and_State_Pistol_Match - Stage 4 Bowling for Victory in Vigo Co Place Name No. Class Division Points Penalties Time Hit Factor Stage Pts Stage % 1 Matt C. 237 GM Limited 132 0 17.40 7.5862 160.0000 100.00% 2 Chuck B. 204 GM Limited 149 0 22.79 6.5380 137.8925 86.18% I took the DT's. Shot the activator first, 3 steel, 2 static targets 1st drop turner. By this time the ball was moving so the second drop turner was next then the other 2 static. I think it was a good choice for me. Matt is fast enough his choice was good for him. Even if I skipped th drop turned he would have beat me by 3 seconds if not more. So its probably a wash. with Matts hit factor of 7.5 , each second was worth 7.5 points. If you could shoot them in under 2.5 seconds it was a good choice to shoot them.
  13. The cracks usually go from the top of the mag catch hole up to the frame on both sides. It is from improper disassembly of the grip. I have broke 3 over the years. Your pic doesnt seem like a crack or a place where they have been known to crack.
  14. At Ashland they only do a yearly prize fund in Open and Limited. The addition of L10, production and revolver threw a wrench in their works so thats all they recognize for the prize fund and the prize fund is what determines slot distribution. So Gary does shoot Open and Limited then he usually shoots something else in a third run and the side shoot which was SubGun last Sunday.
  15. Actually this club uses their own classification since they run a prize fund. Ryan is really B class. He is just real inconsistent. We shot the Ohio state match last year and he had a stage win. 2007 OH_Sectional_Championship - Stage 10 In A Match ? 16. Maybe I am not quite at Gm level anymore and maybe he isnt really shooting c class level anymore.

  18. Yep, we have some on order with Wilson. Will ad them to the web page as soon as they come in.
  19. Thank you. I called and forwarded the info. She just fills the form , gets ATF approval , then ships to an FFL here and does the From 4473 just as if she is buying a gun.
  20. A nurse at my Doctors Office is from South Africa. She has moved here and become a US Citizen. They still own property and firearms in South Africa. They want to bring them to the US. Can somebody give me a name & number of who they need to call? Is it ATF or Customs, and what Dept. Figured somebody on here would know this. Thanks
  21. Our system does not keep track of inventory. My goal is to have everything(except special order items like uncommon slide configurations) on my web page in stock. We do run out occasionally but mostly it is delays on the manufacturers end that cause problems. When we are out we do notify ASAP that we are out and ask for instructions on how to proceed. We have had one item out for 6 months so i have some really old back orders. I was told they would ship next week so I went back and emailed all of those people asking them if they still wanted the item in case they forgot or got some other brand instead. I hope this is ok because the cost of putting in new software and maintaining a system like that is huge. What i hate is when you ask if its in stock or the web page says its in stock. You order it, they charge your card and then dont even tell you its out of stock. I had this happen recently on some hardwood flooring I ordered. 6600.00 worth. He said it was in stock, I ordered, He charged my card. The next week I asked for a tracking number. He told me they ran out and would have more next month. I was a tiny bit ticked off. Canceled the order and demanded instant credit on my card.
  22. Joe, the whole idea of function properly in the competition arena is that it feeds properly. Most of us have our slide stops detented so they will never lock back. I realize with L10 it is a function that is desirable if you happen to run your gun dry. In no way did Bevin ever try to mislead anyone. When he guaranteed function properly he meant feeding in the mag and the lock back function was not what he was referring to. We all know the lock back function is the most finicky to get right on a 1911 with all the different parts, mags and components. For this reason Bevin designed the follower to be positive so it could be tuned to your specific equipment. It was assumed that was already known. So in your mind what functions properly is different than what most competition shooters think of as functioning properly. This is also the reason the Dawson Follower has no lock back capability. You seem to be fine with that so why not just knock the lock tab off the follower and be done with it. I know Grams products to be among the best available. In your case I believe he did offer to help you with the tuning. You refused and did not want to tune them. I will let him say more if he chooses.
  23. Dawson followers work but they are made not to lock the slide back at all. You can see the shelf is gone.
  24. Again, talk to a tax professional. Its beens many years since I graduated from college. There are plenty of advertisements that cost more than one hopes to return from it. I dont think they can micro manage every business decision, disallowing the deductions for the bad ones. Now if you are licensed to practice law in one state and write off expenses to a match in a state you are not licensed they might have an argument against the deduction but if there was one shooter there from your state I believe that would qualify it as a legitimate deduction. Who knows there may be some new case law that deals with this situation and disallows it. One factor may be if the business actually makes a profit. The guideline they use is that it makes a profit in 3 out of 5 years. Or something like that. Its been 20 years since I took tax classes.
