  1. I am definitely no where near the best but I did have a chancel last year to take a class with Ron Avery and Nils down in St George and at the end we ran through some of the stages that were shot at Nationals last year. Nils went up and shot the stage first and the stage started with an array of a rear falling Popper that activated a swinger and two static targets in between. Nils stepped up and put down a great run, however when talking about the stage after the fact he said if he could have done it over again he would have doubled the popper instead of knocking it down with a single shot. We reset the stage and he shot it again. He saved a decent amount of time because he actually knew what the timing was going to be instead of just timing it as the RO knocked it over for us to see. I definitely think you can save time the second time around especially at that level. However, if you don't put the effort in to evaluating the stage in your walk through I definitely don't think you can pick up that sort of detail out of your actual stage run.
  2. So , your saying a pro golfer shouldn't be able to shave strokes the second time playing a round ? A pro MX rider will have slower lap times if they ride the track more? The ninja warrior guys will do worse the more times they run the course? Maybe if your a machine, I'm certainly not. If you can do it perfect, the first time, every time. If you are doing realistic walkthroughs prior to actually shooting the stage then it wont be the first time you have ran it. Just like a pro golfer would walk the course prior to playing a round in a tournament and although I have never been a BMX rider I am fairly certain he would study the track prior to starting a lap as well. Sure you could correct a mistake in your stage run or alleviate an equipment malfunction on a second run but odds are if you run it twice without a decent plan someone with a plan is still going to better your time regardless.
  3. You already have the stages up and I haven't even loaded my ammo for the match I better get going.
  4. This was a great match and an awesome prize table for a first time match as well, I had brought two new shooters to the match and they were extrememly happy that even though they had to leave I was able to walk the prize table for them and they were elated to get their stuff today. While there may have been a few scoring errors found at the end of the match it wasn't a big deal and everything was handled really well. This will definitly be on my list for next year! Mike, you did a great job on this match and no first time MD card needs to be played!!!
  5. Ok, learned my lesson again Never clean you gun before a match.... Cleaned the SLP tonight and today it wont cycle..... Pretty sure I made this mistake before last years Noveske match too.
  6. Bought one of these and tried it out this weekend. Doesn't really work for me being a lefty and all. Great product though wont have a hard time reselling it.
  7. Its awesome and these guys literally wrote the book on Web Security. https://www.whitehatsec.com/aviator/
  8. Just run what you have and have fun doing it. I think too many people get caught up in an equipment race and convince themselve they need this or that widget to make themselves faster. If it were me I would run L-10 because I don't care how many other people I shoot against as long as I am improving it doesn't matter. To answer the question of can you make A with only 15 rounds, if you have the skills you can and the same answer goes for being competitive. You may have less room to make mistakes in Limited with only 15 rounds but regardless of how many rounds you have a miss costs time.

    Good 50 round drill

I recently took a class down in Saint Geroge at TPC (tactical performance center) and have been using their dot target to work on my accuracy. http://www.tacticalperformancecenter.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/6_TPC_Target_-_1_inch_Circles_2014.pdf
  10. Totally understand, I was more looking for the estimate round count per stage anyway. Going to be swapping gear with others on my squad since we only a couple of us actually have the gear and wanted to make sure I had enoughk and we should be good if the max is 22... BTW, thanks for getting all eight of us on the same squad as well. -Price
  11. Looking forward to the match.. How the stage drawings comming along?
  12. I run the TT pads on my 4.25 .40 and they work just fine. As a few posters have said just make sure and clean them out when they hit the ground. It is a bit of a pain in the arse but a heck of a lot better than tanking a stage because you were too lazy to do it or "only STI mags need cleaning". I was running some of the wolf springs that came with my TF pads but switched away to the springs that come with the TT pads and I can get the 20th round in without nearly as much force and I like the fact that the TT springs have the little base pad retainer bend on the end of them. I went about 6 months on my first set of springs in the two mags I use every stage so ~180 stages not counting practice and then replaced them with some replacements I got from TT.
  13. If you are on the north side of town Front Range Gun Club in Loveland is also a good choice.

    CHA-LEE's Tale

The state match is in Montrose this year ....
  17. Did you by chance forget to put the new sear in? I made that mistake once and had the exact same issue.
  18. Try using the stock return spring. I thought the Apex was a little heavy so I used the stock one and got down to a consistent 3.4
  19. I don't think those will work on the core. Mine had really tall sights with a much smaller dove tail for the rear sight.
  20. I don't notice much if any difference between my KKM and my new factory barrel in my backup gun. I would/did still upgrade the trigger though.
  21. No one is asking you, in Colorado, to do anything. However there are some very clear cut examples, that have been pointed out numerous times, where the law is clear. Take New York. There is a hard 10 round limit. No pre ban, no exceptions other than LE. That is what the rule is aimed at. Not Colorado. And I'm pretty sure I even used Colorado as an example of a state it doesn't apply to. There is no law in Colorado that prohibits possession of higher than 15 round mags. No reason the rule would apply in Colorado. That is not really a true statement. It is illegal to possess a "High Capactiy" magazine (one that hold more than 15 round) if it was purchased after 7/1/13. All of us that had them prior 7/1 are grandfathered but the new USPSA rule says that all competitors must comply even if we are exempt. Althought I could just be reading this wrong it doesn't sound like MDs have the option of enforcing it or not. HB-1224 LARGE CAPACITY MAGAZINE MEANS: (I) A FIXED OR DETACHABLE MAGAZINE, BOX , DRUM , FEED STRIP , OR SIMILAR DEVICE CAPABLE OF ACCEPTING , OR THAT IS DESIGNED TO BE READILY CONVERTED TO ACCEPT , MORE THAN FIFTEEN ROUNDS OF AMMUNITION 18-12-302. Large-capacity magazines prohibited - penalties - exceptions. (1) (a) EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE PROVIDED IN THIS SECTION , ON AND AFTER J ULY 1, 2013, A PERSON WHO SELLS , TRANSFERS , OR POSSESSES A LARGE - CAPACITY MAGAZINE COMMITS A CLASS 2 MISDEMEANOR (2) (a) A PERSON MAY POSSESS A LARGE - CAPACITY MAGAZINE IF HE OR SHE : (I) O WNS THE LARGE - CAPACITY MAGAZINE ON THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS SECTION ; AND (II) M AINTAINS CONTINUOUS POSSESSION OF THE LARGE - CAPACITY MAGAZINE USPSA RULE In jurisdictions wher e competitors are restricted by law to maximum magazine capacity, the maximum capacity allowed in the contest, per division, will be the lesser of said law limitations or division limitations. Individuals exempt from the law restrictions must still comply with this section. Any such limitations must be made known to all c ompetitors by the Match Director/Range Master before the start of the match.
  22. I have been turned away by TSA in Denver when using a stock M&P case because it can be pried open fairly easy (As was demonstrated by the TSA guy). Since then I bought a Starlight pistol and 3-gun case and haven’t had to worry about it. I have never had them cut my lock but it has always been properly declared at the ticket counter like the rules say. After listening to one of the Noveske guys at the Area 2 Multi gun last year I also bring TSA locks in addition to my expensive ones just in case the TSA agent tells me that I need to use TSA locks (which has happened). Is that wrong of the TSA guy... probably but ultimately they control whether or not I can fly with my guns or not.
  23. This sounds like a division meant for how you specifically carry. I am guessing the participant pool will be too limiting and I can't imagine trying to write rules around it.
  24. Do you guys know what time everything will wrap up on Sunday? Just trying to get my travel/hotel plans in order.
