Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. It was in the Sept 2014 BOD Meeting notes https://uspsa.org/bodminutes/20140914.pdf
  2. Agreed, the only thing Troy had cited in his email would be an Open shooter switching to an iron sighted gun when say a hoser speed shoot was coming up or something of that nature.
  3. Of course I can't find the e-mail but I had e-mailed Troy on it a while back and he said as long as the gun fits within the division rules it can be used as a backup gun.
  4. Just curious, did anyone ask the MD why they aren't offering PCC?
  5. We have three or four clubs in the front range that allow PCC so I would definitely say it has made it's "start" in Colorado. As to your comment about and I am paraphrasing (No 3-gunner who shoots USPSA is against PCC) it isn't true. Ok, I may have be a "never was" 3-gunner as I haven't shot it in over a year and never was very good at it, but I am not a fan of PCC. With that being said even though I am the MD for my USPSA club it's not my way or the highway at our club. In talking with several of our board members they said they would like to have PCC so now we offer PCC. Would I have changed my mind for a couple of random shooters who may have wanted to come to the match? Nope, sure wouldn't have and wouldn't have thought twice about it. However, when you have people that continually give their own time and money to make sure a match runs and runs well they should be listened to and were. Which is why threads like this get on my last nerve.. I usually try and stay away from Enos and all it's negativity but when people who don't volunteer at these matches think they can have some opinion as to what is going to happen at them, it really irritates me. DocMedic, that comment is not directed at you as I know you have volunteered and spent many of Saturdays and Sundays helping setup and RO matches and if we had more people who volunteer instead of demanded their every desire we would be a lot better off in our neck of the woods.
  6. Doug, at this point you have probably spent more time writing about PCC haters in this thread than shooting USPSA in the last few months. Before you cast judgment on a bunch of volunteers doing a service to the shooting community maybe you should get to a few more matches and interact with a few more folks at those clubs.. You may be surprised at why they aren't offering it they in fact aren't. So Price, can I call you Price? In your opinion, how many matches do I need to attend to have an opinion? Obviously, Sunday didn't count. Maybe, Ramah? Ha!!! How about Centennial? Nope! You absolutely can and I didn't say your opinion doesn't count. Only that you should be more informed before throwing stones.

  8. I have six in my bag and typically take 3 or 4 to any given stage.
  9. I am pretty sure that is why the rule references 10.5.1
  10. Cool, I will give it a shot tonight and see. Obviously I don't know what USPSA is going to want for a start position but the guys who shot our match this weekend did it from low ready so.
  11. Pretty sure their ruling wasn't actually based on the rule book as there is no such rule except for 8.7.2 which doesn't support either the lack of a doughnut or a DQ.
  12. That is not a true statement in all cases.
  13. Nothing will change... Oh wait, please hold while we change the classifiers. On a more serious note, where did you see that we are supposed to strip out the PCC scores from the activity report.. I have to submit one this week and was curious given the recent front site article about funny business with the reports..
  14. Range Equipment Failure... I have had it happen to me at a Level II before and was given a re-shoot due to a REF.
  15. Ultimately, I don't care what a MD wants to incorporate into a stage. Just don't tell me that simulated land mines are practical and expect me to agree. Only things you see on the way to work or going to the grocery are... practical? What if they were snapping turtles? Honey badgers? Pressure cookers? Your kids toys on the floor while an intruder is in your house. Or the dogs squeaky toy that gives away your location. In fact, squeaky toys would be fun! Kids toys? that would have to be Logo's and you would have to be bare foot. no penalty for stepping on them other than how much it hurts affecting your stage plan. By far the worst part of having kids is stepping on their legos at night when clearing your house in tactical priority from under a concealment vest.
