Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Had bigger versions of your proposed L for years. I tend to over-build them. Ledger boards across the rears, screwed and glued together, double 3/4 ply plus countertop tops. For the height, I built the works on risers, green lumber as I was in a basement. Only knock I have was how HEAVY my monstrosity got. But if you are not going to move it, should be fine.
  2. Check the ODINworks. Cannot recall the weight, but their 3gun barrel sounds like your unicorn. I have one at home awaiting a build.
  3. This. The 6 1/2 rem primers are only made for low pressure loads, like the 22 hornet. They used to have this warning info in fine print right on the boxes.
  4. I went thru almost the same exact scenario with my pro and aek. After a couple parts swaps, photo exchanges, and emails...I finally just sent the gun and parts to apex at their request. They exceeded my expectations when I got it back.
  5. Ndz performance makes ones that I like. I use their extended on my g34.
  6. His new website may be up now. Try reaching him on Facebook. I have one in my g34g4. I think it is very impressive, and all of the safeties work fine. I am local to him, so I had him work mine to my liking. I don't recall any visible mods, but never went hunting for them either, so cannot answer your production class question.
  7. Everything I have ever read on wet tumbling says you need at LEAST a lb more tumbling media than brass and the more media to brass you have the faster and better it works. So 5lbs of media would=4lbs of brass or about 285 pieces. 1000 pieces would be 4x what I would want to use, 750 at least 3x. Trying to put 1000 pieces in(if it even fits, I have my doubts on that) with 5lbs of media would take hours and hours and hours to do. I do 1500 at a time in a 3 gallon with 25lbs of media and the longest I need to tumble ever is 2 hours and thats to remove sizing lube. If all im doing is cleaning pistol cases with no lube, an hour does it. Not trying to badmouth the product, but their claims are no where near what I would say will work from my experience with a tumbler that is almost 2x that size. Reading the product sheet explains that the 1k of 223 brass would be with NO media sis pins in with it, none. It never claimed to hold the ss pins AND the 1k of brass.
  8. The only major jams I have ever had came from MAL brass. I junk it upon sight now.
  9. Apex has had her for a couple weeks now. Probably time to check up on them and see if they have any news or eta. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  10. Had to send my pro and parts to Apex. We will see if they can tune it and get the pull weight down to my targeted area. The last part that they sent me, new sear, actually increased the pull by a half lb. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
  11. Glad to hear about all the metal heads in the sport. My wife almost had me convinced that I was strange for amping the heavy at my age. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
  12. Kit says it's the competition kit. Apex tech replied, sending him photos and attempting to start troubleshooting. His first thought was that I installed the factory sear again by mistake--but I know for certain that is not the case, as the factory has a wear mark on it, and I bagged it up after removing it. Hopefully the tech will have some other suggestions. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk - now Free
  13. My Lyman gauge is reading a 4#6oz average on 20 pulls. Doesn't seem like I am getting the light pull performance I was going for. Many others are netting sub 3# pulls. Submitted my inquiry to apex via their website form. Hopefully they reply with some suggestion or remedies. Disappointed today, had higher expectations. Any ideas?
