  1. For sizing look at the Redding G-RX Carbide die. This is a pass through die. But, it allows a reloader to nearly enjoy the results of roll sizing... Use powders that fill the Case. Bummer that VV discontinued N105. Accurate #9 fills up the case pretty good.
  2. That article is 30 plus years old. That is HIS experience with his guns. It by no means is a definitive answer to the age old question. If you are going to crimp...then do it right with consistent length cases so that the crimp is applied evenly and consistently. Most of all do it as a separate operation. The 300 BO has such a short neck, and the quality of brass conversion done might be suspect. So crimping might be a good idea with a Light Taper Crimp vs a roll crimp. Some reloaders over work their brass and thus contend that crimping is necessary to prevent bullet set back during recoil or feeding from a magazine. These reloaders use poor brass care processes as need for crimping. In my reloading experience loading for Mini 14, M1A, M1 Garand, AR 223, AR 308, HK 91 and 93, FAL crimp has not been necessary.... Is crimping necessary in some applications you bet tube fed lever guns & heavy recoiling bolt guns. Handgun crimping is a must..
  3. Dillon had a lot IT issues dating back to June. And, they have been playing catch up.
  4. Headed RCBS Decapping pins work well to deal with Speer 357 Sig brass.
  5. You can buy conversions, just take YOUR TIME and verify the conversion kit has the correct parts. It is right in the 750 Owners Manual on page 34. https://www.dillonprecision.com/media/manuals/dillon-xl750-manual-english.pdf This definitely operator error and nothing to do with the machine so speak.
  6. Just swap your Dillon Decapping pin for a headed RCBS decapping pin, and now RCBS has undersized ones too....0.057" Problems years ago were encountered with Speer 357 Sig brass with tight flash holes....the cure back then was to use a RCBS headed decapping pin.
  7. Get some RCBS headed decapping pins and sub for the Dillon decapping pin. Ran into same problem with Speer 357 Sig brass...Solution came from Dillon Tech Support
  8. you will probably have to shorten the COAL to suit the barrel that is barking...
  9. I think the 45 200 HAP only come in the case size boxes. The 45 200 XTP comes in 100 ct boxes
  10. Pro series dies are not for use on a single stage press. They are like a dillon die set sizer seater crimp die. There is no case mouth expander. The regular 88XXX series dies are for single stage use sizer expander and combo seater/crimp
  11. Give them a call. They might have some for warranty replacement.
  12. Remember Midway does not stock the powder physically. It is drop shipped from either distributor or another vendor holding inventory for Midway.
  13. in the MSP metro there are some vendors that rake people and the same can be said for online dealers.
  14. One has to realize that large distributors have no control with what they get..... Case in point one locally (SW Wisconsin) Has gotten a total of 3 shipments from Alliant this year. Seemingly once a quarter. rhey got no Unique, 2400, Blue Dot, some RL 15 and a BE, BE86, PP, little Promo, and Red Dot with the last order that Alliant Delivered. They placed an order with Western Powders 865K and all they have seen is a little TAC, 5744, a smidgen of #2. IMR rifle powders seen to be easy to find from Hodgdon. But Winchester powders are non existent. And, no handgun powders from Hodgdon either... of course ADI has not resumed production of Clays, international or Universal.
  15. Hodgdon does not produce powder. They package powder made by ADI in Australia under the Hodgdon Label, Most of IMR powders are produced by General Dynamics in Canada. Some production runs of 4227 are made by ADI. General Dynamics makes the Win labeled powders and the ball powders for Hodgdon labeled products. This is made in St Marks FL. Western Powders are sourced from Europe and St Marks Alliant makes most their powders, but the Reloder series are imported from Europe.
  16. Hello, I lost the book mark I had for fellow that an online Dillon Conversion Charts for 550 650 and 1050 machines.... I would appreciate the point in the right direction....Thanks in advance! John
  17. Can you post the 38 & 45 Data?
  18. Granted I was local, ordered on line somee 45ACP 200gr RN on Sunday and here on Wednesday in the mail. I love irritating the mail man! LOL! They were at the last MN Weapons Collectors Show I bought some 9mm 130gr TC to try out. Virtually smoke free coupled with Universal. Me like! My USP and Jarvis bbl really likes!
  19. Get the Lyman 49th, The ABC's of Reloading!
  20. John at The Gunstop has plenty of primers. No wolf small pistol, but other wolf primers. Fed, Win, and CCI small pistol, too. Mag Tech SP too. Plenty of Fed 150's.. Come up to the cities and check them out at Gunstop Reloading Supplies Inc. 14704 Excelsior Blvd. Minnetonka, MN 55345 1-800-645-7644 (952) 474-0211
  21. Personally, I would ditch the 650 and case feeder. I would get the 550B. I would just get the Lyman 49th it has the best lead cast bullet load data, and skip the Speer cause the Speer manual only deals with jacketed bullets and the speer SWAGED vs hard cast lead bullets. I would ditch the electronic scale, and get the mechanical scale. I would add a tumbler to the mix, and get the larger media seperator.
  22. The brass fired in MY USP is not ever a problem. It sizes just fine.
  23. Got it in the mail this past week. It is a great deal!
