Looks for Match

Looks for Match (2/11)

  1. Well, My first thought Clean the die out. The seater could be full of crud! Set the bell to allow you to set a bullet on it. Back off the seater die stem out and raise the belled round and bullet into the die and then start lowering the seating stem till you start to seat the die. Refine the COAL till you have it right.
  2. Well I pose this thought. Use what you can get a hold of. Unique is not easy to find. Whereas, TG, CFE Pistol, and if you want 231/HP38 are all easy to source right now. The only thing about TG...is sooty to say the least. Burns hot and tends to scorch the cases. All cosmetic nothing to impede function or accuracy.. To me 231 and 200gr H&G 68 clone is a match made in heaven for the 45 ACP. Never seen a 231 load that did not shoot decent.
  3. Redding makes undersized decapping pins # 01059 0.057"
  4. have you entertained the idea of using the old style Powder Measure Return Springs I think the part #14036? Some people disconnect the failsafe rod. Personally I have no issues getting consistent drops with N310 N320 N340 in my Dillon Powder Measure.
  5. They put the cart before the horse! As with all development projects things take time. But, geeze Louise! Remember way back when Ruger had their XGI on the cover of the American Rifleman......never came to be!
  6. Redding only has NxGen sizers and die sets. Part numbers are the same. Just a name change and product upgrade.
  7. Speer 357 Sig brass is notorious for small flash holes. And, I have headed RCBS decapping pin installed in the sizer.
  8. Reloading hardware is not moving at all. Presses and auto-drives are not moving. Even 550 and 750 presses are not moving. Heck Dillon has 10% off some kit deals.
  9. Without carbide to make dies i.e. conversion kits for Square Deal B presses....Dillon has no presses to sell. Spurts of conversions come out. But, Dillon is still in supply chain issue with carbide for dies. Due to unprecedented demand, we are not accepting backorders on out of stock magazines, bullets, brass and some other items. Our future cost and delivery are uncertain at this point. If you see an item that displays "Out of Stock" that means we hope to get it back in stock but do not allow backorders. Items that say "backorder" means the item IS expected back in stock and you may backorder it. IMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT DIES: Dillon Precision has added a second domestic carbide supplier. Their job is to make large quantities of a single caliber handgun carbide insert. They are finishing 45ACP now and beginning 38/357. After they finish those calibers, the next two they will make are 10mm/40 S&W and 380ACP. Our primary carbide supplier is currently concentrating on 300 Blackout and 223 Remington. They are also making small quantities of handgun carbide in the calibers not coming from our new supplier. The dates below are our current estimate for delivery, based on recent delivery history and knowledge of what we expect to be delivered and when we expect to receive it. 10. A person should chrono the USMC Load with N310 WLP WW Brass with the Nosler 185gr JHP. It is like cheating. The load is spooky accurate out of the 625's. I have had good experience with the above mentioned Berry's 185gr RN HB bullet and Tite Group.
  11. The Service of having the press gone through @ the factory is well worth the money. Anyone who buys a used press with parts missing really has no business asking for free parts when the press was bought "as is". So the proper thing to do is make a laundry list and pay for the parts to make the press whole.
  12. No one can expect any company to replace normal items subject to wear and tear. Nor should a company be expected to replace missing items because the OP bought it that way. They have to draw a line somewhere.
  13. I have great results with HAP 125 and Power Pistol and N340, and good results with the 115gr. The 115 is 0.355 vs the 125 is 0.356 not sure if that makes a deal?
  14. You all are forgetting a few things..... #1 Vista Outdoor is a large company with many brands under the umbrella. They have bought some companies over the last year. That could account for loss in earnings. #2 Vista Outdoor is going to split off the Munitions portion of the company as a separate entity this year. #3 OEM's do not change prices like the NY Stock Exchange. Wholesalers do change prices at the drop of a hat. After Parkland HS shooting a Colt 6920 went nearly 999.00 when at the same wholesaler they were in the upper 600 range the day before. Most bigbox venues are direct with the big boys. So it is the big boys taking the market for a ride not the OEM. #4 Vista Outdoor has played games with primers. With a glut of RCBS hardware sitting on their warehouse shelves they made deals with big box places buy X of RCBS and get primers. Heck RCBS is selling sets of dies with a brick of primers... We all can remember better days of prices of consumables.....growing up I got primers for like 6.99 a 1k. Powder was $10.00#. All these new primer companies are sure taking their time coming to market. Expansion Ammo was supposed to be shipping primers last year....and God only knows. That First Breach is supposed to have primers..... And with Beretta building an ammo plant to make ammo and components. Hodgdon can not make their mind up. One day they say they are discontinuing their Enduron line of powders. And, now they say it was only a suspension of production...
  15. Lyman Pro dies are good to go. SS die body. No problems with availability. Redding Pro Series and Competition Pro Series Dies are excellent dies for handgun operations. The Redding National Match Die set is a nice set for progressive presses Remember that Lee Carbide Factory crimp dies are only meant for jacketed bullets. Otherwise they swage bullet to small diameter.
