  1. i have both a 4" and 5" MP. I do not find the extra length of the 5" that much of an advantage, especially at IDPA distances. Same with the 17/34 combo. 5" Mp's are hard to find. If you can live with and find a 4", i would run with it.
  2. i have had one for years. load 40 and 9 out of it. like many have stated make sure that it is mounted on a sturdy bench. this goes for all of the presses. once the nuances are ironed out, it puts out good ammo quick. some don't like the case feeder, but i have had few problems with it. its as simple as it gets. there are lots of forums dedicated to it now. the suggestions on them work. If you are an impatient person that does not like to do thing mechanical, i would suggest you pass on it.
  3. i run all my 9mm at 135 pf out of a 5" gun. will be about 130 out of a 4" gun. more than enough cushion for the gun games. I run my 40 minor at about 140 because that is what will reliably run in my gun. !47's in my development and experience do not run well at lower velocities. Many time they will tumble. A lot of people wish to skirt close the 125pf for whatever reason. If they use that ammo in a match that is chronoed, they might be going home or shooting for no score. ladder your loads when developing them , figure out the most accurate load that give a good PF in your gun and stick to it is all i can suggest.
  4. i have been experimenting with 158gr molys with wst and ramshot comp. 3.6 wst got me about 875 and 3.3 ramshot comp got me about the same. More than enough for PF. After i did my chronoing, i shot off hand at 20 yard at the head of an iDPA target. I got about 3 inch groups from both loads. this was out of my G34 and MP9, both with stock barrels
  5. Seeing that you state the Pf in your post i would assume you do some kinda comp shooting. If you are running at 128pf, may i suggest you bump it up a little to assure that if you are ever chronoed at a match, that you pass. Bumping it up a little may be the difference in getting a score or not. Good luck
  6. never had a problem with S&b other than the factory seems to load them hot, necessitating more force to resize them.
  7. the only thing i can think of is that they are counting all FNS's as one model, and not differetiating the long slide, which if correct, would not be proper.
  8. It is going far enough that a previous national champion is competing with one. True enough, and he get paid to do so. But will the average shooter accept it if there are no mags, holsters, mod parts available, and at acceptable pricing??
  9. Unless there i factory and aftermarket support, inexpensive and available mags, i see it going nowhere. there are plenty of people still waiting on 45 FN mags
  10. Been shooting mine at club matches in production for a while. Club matches, who cares. even the 2 Uspsa area matches i have been to did not question if the gun i was using was on a list or not.
  11. Sound about right. buddy was gonna order some before the mess hit.
  12. i need to crimp it this much or it will drop freely from the chambers of my 9's.
  13. here is what i am speaking of the left came from my fcd and the right the rcbs. Both drop out of the chambers of my 9mm's freely
  14. I have been loading 9mm for many years and 10 of thousands of rounds with little problem. this is with lee dies and FCD. I got a rcbs dies set recently and have been playing around with it. I just use the crimp/seat die as crimp die only in place of the FCD. Now playing with the dies, the only way to make round that drop free is to adjust the dies till it has, what it seems, a light roll crimp. when i pull the bullet, it leaves a ring around the bullet. Is this normal?? my FCD does not do this. bullets used are BC 147gr. I measured, as best as i can the crimp at .378-.379. so am i doing it right??
  15. A couple of weeks back, at a local club match a couple of guys had some mags stolen from their bags. I've been playing this game for a few years, and have never heard of such a thing a thieving at a match. They think that it was some new shooter that did it, but of course have no proof. There is some debate going on on how to remedy this, from name tags to cameras. I personally have found most shooter to be quite honest. People will return mags when people forget to pick them up. You ever have some thieves show up at and steal some stuff while at a match?
  16. Wst 4.7 with the 125gr @ 1.08 135pf 3.8 with 147gr @1.12 135pf 4.7 with 180gr @ 1.12 170pf 4.4 with 230gr @ 1.25 167pf these are loads i have made with BC bullets
  17. Dirty sear plunger is my guess. I had it a few time and I cleaned and lubed the sear plunger area and its been good ever since
  18. i like my mp9 to be accurate, but not $239 accurate.
  19. so how much brass is too much to put into a tumbler at one time??? how much media vs brass?
  20. call Atlanta arms and tell them your situation. should be no problem sending a package to a hotel. they will just store it till you get there for pick up. happens all the time. the only problem is the laws in SF. some companies do not send guns or ammo there. Also SF area has a vibrant gun club at the Richmond rod and gun. you might inquire if they or someone there could help you
  21. you are in a quandry when it comes to reloaded ammo. if you sell it, and it damages someones gun, you could be liable for it. what i would do it take a few round and shorten them to the shortest that will work in your Glocks and retest them for velocity and pressure signs. if everything looks good after the test, I would just shorten them and life goes on.
  22. auto indexing. if you forget to push the lever its really easy to get a double. Also find a powder that is "fluffy". I use WsT and it pretty hard to double charge a case with it
  23. seeing that revolver now is 105pf, is there a procedure to calibrate steel?
