.40 SS and Lim. same spec of ammo for both. My Troj 40 worked since i bought it years ago. FACTORY GUN. 8 SS classic without malfunction and ready again this April.

The powders I am using for major 9 were already mentioned and almost same load as them My powder of choice is 3n38 and when its hard to find it, I use 7625 which is readily available from my shotgunning friends. My 38 super powder is 7625 and for my semi-retired 9x23 is also 7625

I have Safariland and Limcat. They are both good.

I use one with rough surface. Its the Burner grip.

My STI Troj gun was blued but after 4 months it shows scratches here and there and small areas which I suspect rust. I had it hard chromed (flat, not shiny) and for 8 years now it still looks newly chromed and I find it easy to clean too.

I use spacer and stopped experimenting. Save me from headache and frustration. Now it runs like the energizer bunny.

My slide weighs 9.75oz (bare). This is only for steel matches.

I started shooting open 8 years ago with a regular lenght slide in .38 super. I liked it and then here comes the shorty open. I sold my long open and bought a new shorty in 9mm major. I liked it too. But after 6 months I sold my shorty and... Now I am back to LONG SLIDE (lightened to 9.75 oz) in 9MM MAJOR. This is it. I like the combination of long slide and 9major (this is my own personal experience - other persons have different feel about this) My final open gun (I hope ) I am not going to change it anymore.

I changed all my belt to CR speed except the one that my Bro in law always borrows

I use VV N310 and 147gr

Im happy with 3N38 and 124gr. 7625 is also good and saves me money.

I agree with the forum members who suggested to buy it from the gunsmith. Open guns even new ones are sometimes temperamental and this 'smiths are already familiar with its problems and how to fix it. Will save you from head ache Dot size my preference is 8. My eyes are not that young anymore and thats the smallest size my eyes like.
