SVI .38 super STI .38 super SVI 9x23 SVI frame/Caspian slide - 9 mm major

It feels the LC's are integrated with the CRS. Its firmly attached and i dont feel any side to side or up-down play or movement. I like it except it requuires me an extra effort and extra hand to set it up.

I am using CR speed on mine. I asked a friend to hold the belt firmly and pull the belt while i pull the limcat holster. Did the same with the mag holders.

I use CMC 10MM shooting stars on mine for the past 9 years of shooting SSC and they ran perfect. I have 12 and I rotate them during the entire match. Never encountered any problem through all those years.

I have a .45 with wilson 8 rd mags. I have no access to the box and i want to trim the basepads to fit. Is there a thread where to start trimming and how much should be removed from it. Or somebody kind enough to please post a picture would be much appreciated. My SS Trojan .40 with CMC mags will be used by my son. I used that for the past 10 yrs SSC/SSNats and this will be his first big match. I want him to enjoy than become frustrated just in case this .45 creates problem so my working and set up .40 for SS goes to him. thank you

Go ahead and buy it. Posters already mentioned what you can do with that gun so i wont repeat it. i remember my very first 1911. i want bo mar and metaloy because that was the in thing at that time but i dont have enough money for that so i just make sure its oiled and the only mod done (DIY) was to widen the notch of the rear sight a little bit and i painted the back of the front sight with red nail polish. No name leather holster was from a friend of my Dad. I spent my extra money on bullets and 2 good mags and had fun with it.

i carried a P12 for 41/2 years (from 1996 to 2000). its a little on the heavy side but i have a p14 also and i use the so called "pre ban" p14 mags as my backup mags.

try a load using 147 gr. Maybe youll like it

My 2 open are 5in slides. STIframe/Caspian and the other is SVIframe/SVIslide. Slides are lightened but not hybrid style (?) cut. When i switched from 38s to 9major, i bought brazos 1 piece barrel/comp. I use 124gr and 3n38 and i like this barrel/bullet/load combo. very accurate if i do my part. Very small movement of c more dot. 2nd shot is just a sliver away from the first. No problem from day 1 and that was 3 years ago.

I started with 38 super, then played with 9x23 and now 9 major. I still keep the 38S and 9x23 and use it once in a while. I now have another complete parts for a 9 major set-up from match prizes, so another 9major coming up for me.

Mine is my Colt 1911 .45.. Logo on the slide is the onion dome and colt custom shop.

Guys in my area who are now using .38SC only on their guns sold me their 38S brass (diff headstamp) for a bargain price and few bottles of beer.... they are happy with the money and drink, I drank with them so i am happy too and i got their brass nyahahahaha...... Shooting it once in a while bec I switched to 9Major for now. I used .38s and .38sc and so far i dont have any feeding/extraction failure experience with my gun. I am using whatever is available bec my barrel digest them and my aftec extractor never fail me yet.

I use 4.9 with 1.180-1.185. Major with cushion. 5in bbl. Never been declared minor whether winter or summer time chrono

Heaviest I used was 210 gr. VVn320/210 combi is very soft but squadmates call me diesel bec of smoke. Freebored Trojan S/S and Edge for Ltd

I use 9SC from starline. They are the same. Do you want to use only Win 9x23 cases? Its still available.

My 9 major runs good and so far flawless for 2 1/2 years now. FL slide w brazos barrel/comp. 124/5 HAps, 3n38, smp's, diff stamp of brass. To those who dislike their 9major, Pls donate your brass to me hehehe ...... I also have 38S and another 9x23. both using 124/5Haps, 7625. I'll change the barrel of one of these 2 and make it as my back-up just in case i go to big matches.

On my svi, the bolt that holds the interchangeable breech face restricts the firing pin spring compression and limiting the forward reach of Fp. guys on my club suggested to change the FP to limcat extra long and it solved the problem

i found vv n320 to be consistent and has less smoke.

I use 7625 and HAP for both.

played with it a little bit. I prefer without thumb rest.
