  1. Never had the luck of meeting Stewart in person, having said that I "got" that he was a great guy buy his time here on these forums and only confirmed by the many responses. Those who knew him are the lucky ones indeed. The rest of us are just lucky to have had him around to grace the place with his presence. God bless Stewart, and his family and friends. Hopalong

  6. Terrible news indeed. All our thoughts and prayers need to go out to Gil and his family. I would suggest a new thread in the what I hate part of the forums to get more "knee mail" for Gil and his family. I don't know what happend so I don't feel I should post it, but someone with more info on the situation needs to. Ken, congratulations for your efforts. Prayers to Gil and family. For what it is worth, My oldest sister was involved in a Head On that put her in a coma for a month. She is now physicaly fine and only has trouble with short term memories but is "normal" to most people that know her now but not before the wreck. Again prayers to Gil and family. Hopalong
  7. SG, Put me on the list. I can proudly say that !!!!! Hop
  8. I have no trouble with the "brass" colored primers when I turn my mainscrew up for a 71/2 to 8 lbs DA pull. But I have also been inside mine and tinkered with them so they all run sub 6 lbs on Federals. easiest fix...........just turn it up, shoot the winchesters at 8 lbs. your times won't be much if any different and likely your accuracy won't be any different.......just your trigger finger will be more tired initially until you get used to it. Good luck, Hopalong
  9. Well after finding out my Brother that can only come down once a year is headed my way the same weekend as A-4 it looks like I'll be talking to Wayne to see if he might reimburse some of it. Was starting to get fired up about it too! Hopalong

So............... After the flat performance at the MS classic, which was an excellent match btw. It is now time to change back over to the wheelgun. Went to the range yesterday afternoon with it and did some basic stuff just to get refamiliarized with it. Plate rack run was 42 out of 48. Most draws were running around 1 second, had some good smokers mixed in though. Reloads were a little off, forgot how much there is to do to get those correct Did the TX star a few times just to do it, best one 4.20 with 6 shots........I'll take that, for now. Did run it clean but 4.35. Tigger finger got tired, going from the 2 1/2 lbs single action STI to the 7+lbs Double action S&W I see some dry fire in the near future. A-4 in two+ weeks, See some of you there. Sam
  18. Great to see a bunch of smiling faces I don't get to see very often. The match was run as smooth as any of the best I have shot( except for my own part ) Had a good time, with good folks. Thanks John and all others who deserve it!!! congrats to the winners Hopalong
  19. It happens, but not very often. Hop
  20. I don't know how, but he managed 2 on my stage! (or at least until he got it right) Hop
  21. The ADVANTAGE of shooting a moonclipped revolver is there are no shuch things as "LOST BRASS MATCHES" !!! Looking forward to meeting old and new wheelgun friends, plus a few of the other autoloader buddies! Hopalong
  22. Although reliability from wheelguns are still way higher than autos, you guys do need to clean them at least once a year. If they need it or not!!!!! Hop
  23. I really wish you guys would quit giving away our "secrets" !!! HOP
