  1. My match M1a has a 1-10 twist and I have developed two 110 grn loads that shoot 1/4 groups (5 shot) at 100 yds with it. I have not tried them to see what they do farther out as they are for a 100 yd match. It also shoots 168 grn hpbt in a 3/8 group but at 200 yds where I test them at. I have not tried them in my M1a scout squad but it shoots the 147 winchesters in a 1 1/2 at 100 yds with the peeps when I'm having a good day holding it (gun shoots better than I do ) My buddy had a .308 bolt gun that shot 1/12 goups at 100 but it had stablized the bullet enough so it shot 1/2 inch at 200....seems he had a 1- 9 and was shooting 155 grn Palma Match kings (If I can remember that right) Hopalong
  2. I'll be up for a good quick rifle side match. Or a SHOT gun side match too.......... OR another of the team do dads like the last two years, those are fun. Oh and after reading my reply, I'm sorry if it came off smart. Hop
  3. Trapper, IT is a SHOT gun, not a SMOOTH BORE RIFLE !!!!! Leave the slugs to the OHIO Deer Hunters !!!! Hop
  4. See, and you were complaining about not getting enough participation earlier this year!!!!!! Hop
  5. Pat, Take it easy on Mark, He's new to the states and all................... I don't think he realizes that real MEN shoot Major and Iron sighted Revolvers !!!!! You also have to think, he did locate into Kentucky. Mark, go ahead and get on the list. It will likely be full up but you never know. If all else fails, take the time off from work and go anyway with all your gear. be waiting in line at the registration on the day of, if you don't get in stick around and watch and see what a USPSA nationals is like. 6. Cool !!!!! Now for some ones' sake....... I hope the "50" mark is a least found !!! Hop
  7. Update: Same as before for the gun.......... 50 or more a 686 75 or more a 625 More than Production a nice shiney new 627!!!! Here is the kicker...... Keith and John Heiter (Mississippi Classic Match director.........YOU had better go next year folks) have each tossed in an extra Ben Franklin Bob Perdue is tossing in a set of grips, and one of his BELTS to go with it. SINCE this is a challenge to get the number of shooters up, IF we fall short of the goals listed unless otherwise all "GOODIES" will be returned to their gracious donors so I hope you got out and beat the bushes................. We'll see in September. Now to go clean my Benny Blaster for the last time for a while, and maybe break out the 625 for a little rust removal. Hopalong
  8. So whisker fish................. What model of wheelgun you gunna be runnin????? See you there, even if you are shooting that funny bottom feeding thing. Hop
  9. Come on Chris, It'll be fun watching you FOO FOO gun shooters shoooting a gun that actually has RECOIL !!!! We might even talk ole CRAMBLITT into shooting real mans guns !!!!!! I'll be loading up some special 80 grn .308s just for you guys to feel what your .38stupids feel like ! See You there. Hop
  10. John, Use Hogden Clays for your powder, it burns cleanest (for the money) and leaves no residue. Most of the time it is burn powder residue that causes your problem. Clays and 45 ACP just go together, kind of like ice cream and pecan pie.............. That should take care of the biggest part of your problem, lead bullets leave residue too but it takes a while to build up compared to the powder residue. Good luck. Hop
  11. Well I went to the storage area for unused/seldom used guns to compare my 25-2 that I had put back to the 2 I have just purchased and low and behold................ The one I had already has some imperfections (cylinder marks, and such) so it will now get the "ACTION PISTOL treatment" to be used in the azz kicking of many bottom feeders and such. I also was comparing it to my 25-2 that I have already to rock and noticed a small difference.................... The one I had put back is a 6 1/2 inch gun !!! A few minor modifications, chamfer job, new Millet sight and she'll be ready to ROCK !!!!! Actually getting fired up about this, It may get me out to the range even. Side note: The 57s are still there for now. Hop
  12. Jack, We (Revolver folks) don't mind you shooting a wheelgun instead !!! Hop
  13. J-Go, Way to go !!! On another B-day, and another National championship.........all in the same week too!!! Hopalong And happy B-day to the rest of you too !
  14. Ahmm........... Fleks.........I do think the gentleman said STEEL GUNS..........not toys!!!!!!! (Insert ducking Icon here !) Hop
  15. YES it WILL be cool WHEN you do it !!!! Hop another thing.......... Speeding up your shooting and shooting sloppy is not caused by unawareness.........but by not speeding up your awareness to match your shooting pace. I hope that makes some kind of sense
  16. Let me toss a little in here............... The back pack will most likely have to be worn for the entire match (at least during the stages). Last years Handgun Nationals brought out a similar question regarding a pouch used on the stage with the mags/reloads on the golf cart. One gentleman used a pouch on his belt, so some observant others attempted to install a pouch on theirs while waiting to shoot.........then someone asked for a ruling. It was ruled that it was OK to use it but it must be used for the entire match from start to stop, not just that stage or from that stage on. Something to think about. Hop
  17. Check going out today. See you turkeys there!!! Hop
  18. Dennis, No I don't on the year, but they are both 6 inch guns. I bit the bullet and decided to purchase the two 25s........man am I crazy or what? that is the most I have paid for any Smith & Wesson Revo I have! except the unfired 646. I will let the two 57s sit, and if they sit around a little while. I will give him an offer on them too. Hop
  19. Found a pair of 25s yesterday with not even marks on the cylinders, man wants $1200 bucks for the pair.........Kind of high for me but I have not seen any as good as these yet. Thinking of getting them to put back for a later date. He also had a pair of 6 inch 57s in sequential serial numbers, they really peaked my interest as I really like .41 mags (he also had a 5 inch 657 that really, really, really got my attention but he was about 150 bucks high so I am letting it sit) the 57s are 85 to 90 % with a few scratches on the grips and a few marks on the cylinders where they had been turned dry firing.......wants 700 bucks each, way too much for me but I thought I'd let some others know. Hop
  20. He just wants to compare his picture with others !!!!! Hop
  21. If it is half read does that make it PINK ?????? Hop
