  1. I just go off the USPSA area 7 website..... Looking at Scores for The Smith&Wesson Winter IDPA championships How's that looking at IDPA scores on a USPSA Website before IDPA has them up !!! There were 24 revolver shooters at this match..... A Match with only Trophies to win (prize table if any by random) Why can't USPSA draw more revolver shooters (let's keep it nice ) IS it that USPSA shooting with all the shots in the stages intimidate revolver shooters? Is it that USPSA shooting is not normally "revolver friendly"? (A Crock IMHO) Revos shoot against Revos In my short 5 years of shooting both IDPA and USPSA I have noticed that USPSA shooters that shoot both more often than not come out on top of the heap or way up there. Example this years S&W match... SSP (production stuff) Dave Sevigney ESP (single action other than .45) Todd Jarrett CDP Single action .45 only Ernest Langdon SSR (Revolver) Jerry Miculek. Is it that USPSA is a game that has EVOLVED away from revolver as being a viable platform to use? Naaaahhhhh What's up could someone explain this to me....?????..... What am I not seeing? I shoot both but if I had to settle for one it would definately be USPSA without any hesitation at all...... Hopalong / Sam Keen the guy who just doesn't understand
  2. Just got the slot..... Revolver....."A" for Amateur See You there.....Going to be FUN !!!!! Hopalong CJL32 will be there shooting Limited.... Just can't seem to get him to shoot Revo.... I KNOW.... He's Scared !!!!!
  3. Randy01 I don't know squat about Pin guns and Pin shooting BUT I have the barrel you need for your Pin gun..... Shuemann HYbrid .45 has 6 holes across the top and the front sight is infront of them on the barrel. You can then get a non ported Hybrid and use it in the same gun to shoot USPSA Limited (or Limited 10) Wha-LA Two guns for the price of 1 It is Brand New still in plastic box, Picked up off of prize table at a match (Thanks Shuemann !!!! for being a sponsor) PM me if interested !!!!! BTW from talking with Carmoney.... He knows his stuff when it comes to PINS Hopalong
  4. Got mine from the Section Coordinator today !!!!! Will be shooting Revolver "A" See you there !!!! Hop
  5. Well it is official.... In the US mail today.... Slot number 201 from the friendly section Coordinator Will be shooting Revolver "A" ( for Amateur ) in 2005 USPSA nationals. SEE YOU THERE !!!!!! HOPALONG and Flex..... We don't care if it is "Revolver Friendly" or not... we just want to shoot....
  6. Looking more and more like next SPRING.... IF and WHEN it gets done it will NOT be just another match.... it WILL be a class act. or none at all.... My Club hosts the MS 3-gun match and I am the MD for it and it will be in September so I will only do 1 at a time..... THis in NOT forgotten just put on Hold. Thanks to all for their Interest and input. SAM KEEN
  7. Same weekend as Arkansas Section..... Hmm... 4 hrs to Little Rock (driving) Or........4 hrs + to Wyoming......(flying) Sorry Ron I guess I will stay in Dixie Hopalong
  8. you want to get more interest in the points series????? USE the top spots for it....Period and then you will have some participation.... Make that the only way to make the team (notice I said TEAM) for all time starting this year (still time for everyone to get in it). the off years will still be included in the selection process (average the results from the years there is not a World shoot (that keeps the interest up) Pretty simple.... there is already a format there..(points series).. just dangle the carrot infront of the Rabbit ......(World Shoot Team spots) Just my .02 cents worth.... Hopalong
  9. When is it ????? (Dumb A$$ look at the first Post) Is Antelpope season open then ????? (Most likely NOT) IF so Maybe shoot USPSA and Antelope in 1 weekend ?????? WAY TO GOOD to be TRUE !!!!!! (figured) Have gun will travel.....esp for a good Antelope hunt (and USPSA) OR maybe just a good USPSA hunt Hopalong
  10. Ron, For mine I just went with the going rate of a match the same size (round count state match ect.) Hope that helps..... When you get the shooting done you will have all the expences take that from the match fees, give the range their fee and what is left is what you give the club, get stuff for your staff ect. SAM KEEN
  11. ME TOO !!!! You should have no problems getting a slot for Nats. Hop

  16. Ok see you in Louisiana...... going to get my A$$ handed back to me in GUMBO HOP
  17. Dan, Call or E-mail your section Coordinator First.... They will have slots before the Official waiting list comes out.... What slots they don't use goes back to USPSA to use for the waiting list. I don't know who is the CA section Coordinator but you can get in touch with your Area Director (2 Rob Boudrie ???) and he will get you the info you need. Good luck getting a slot, should be no problem, if you miss the Section slots then get on the waiting list on the USPSA website.....APRIL 10 I think.... Good to see you in Florida.... I don't take Kindly to ass whippins Hopalong
  18. hey Jake glad to have you drop in !!!! As Usuall you are Right on.... Consistancy wins the marathon matches PERIOD My intent was to let those know who have not been to the Nationals that the shooting is no harder than club matches.... Some of mine are WAY harder than anything I have seen at Nationals. TriggerTime..... The Texas Star ???? That crazy 1 shot per target THING !!!! Jake see you at A-6 ? Any way, Nationals are just more stages, Not Harder stages (Haven't seen this years yet though) so come on and shoot!! hopalong
  19. As match Director of the MS 3-gun I had my shooters check law and Military..... they did not know it but the Hi Law and Military in each Division will be coming back to defend their title for Free..... Who needs more dust collectors ? give them thier match fees back or let them come back and defend their title for free..... keeps them coming back and they will bring more Just a little respect for those who do a little more in their line of work... SAM KEEN Now PHIL where are the Rifle and Shotgun ? September..... Lumber will be there and you won't have to pay his entry either
  20. I have been to 2 USPSA Nationals now, 1 with an Auto and 1 with a Wheelie.... I find that the nationals werer no harder than local club matches except that there are just more stages to screw up.... The shooting is no harder (for me) but you just have to keep your head in the game better... For those thinking about going but are hesitant my advice is get your slot and go... Staff at these things are World Class, they know what they are doing. Other shooters from around the country will be on your squad and it is nice talking with them about regional shooting (amazing how things change but are still the same) and just visiting with friends you may not see but once or twice a year. As far as hard goes 3 matches come to my mind: 2005 Florida Open i still recomend this match to anyone though just take your time shooting. 2004 Area-3 2003 Area-4 Man was this one tough ! Any way The more the Merrier, with only 2 1/2 days to shoot it will be timewise no different than an Area match. but with WAY more shooters and shooting !!! Hope to see you there !!!! I will be the bald guy with a limp and a wheel gun on and a big smile Hopalong
  21. Just thought I would check interest here...... How many of you are going to try to get slots for USPSA nationals? Can WE (Wheelgunners) get 25 or better? that would be a 72% increase !!!! 1 Jerry Miculek 2 Rudy Waldinger 3 Patrick Sweeney 4 Cliff Walsh 5 Sam Keen 6 Sam Carmoney 7 Mike Carmoney 8 Dan Carden 9 John Jawor how many More ????? I would like to see Dillard Winters come back and Richard Timberlake too... Aierdale now that it is only 2 1/2 days you can make it. More than 25 just on this forum Hopalong Too bad there will be no shoot offs this year I saw where Larry Treen is shooting an OPEN gun at the Double Tap Match in TX !!!! Larry what happened ??? (unless it is Scoped comped 627) Edit : For those wanting to get a slot call your SECTION coordinator..... Sections win slots for Mission count these are given before the waiting list comes out!!!, if they are gone (first come first served) then apply on the waiting list.
  22. Merry Christmas Skywalker !!!!! oops wrong one How about HAPPY BIRTHDAY from across the big POND Hopalong
  23. Spook, Richardo broke his gun and zeroed a stage, otherwise him and Cliff would have been neck and neck at the wire. He is as you say "one fast shooter" as I got to see him finish with a borrowed gun. They said they may try to make USPSA nationals to see Jerry, Rudy, and the rest of the GOOD shooters !!!! Hopalong
  24. Dennis, Good to see you in Florida..... How did you do ???? When are you going to put that silly autoloader away ????? Carlos, I did the same to mine before I bought a kit from Vic Pickett, after smoothing the rebound slide, and its contact area on the frame (smoother stroke for sure) with the screw all the way in my 610 sat on exactly 8 pounds but as DaJarrell said it was SMOOTH which is more important than light !!!!!
