  1. Well except for the 200 odd pieces that are tumbling in the cleaner I have reloaded all of the .45 ACP brass in the house !!!!!!! Now I can concentrate on SHOOTING them instead of reloading them BTW it is somewhere between 12 and 15 gallons worth of Empty brass Also can change the 650 over to .40S&W and get the invetory back up to par there too !!!! Finished all the .308 last month !!!! Man it looks like I mignt get to spend more time on the range this year Hopalong
  2. Here in The South West Tennessee area I have 1 club 20 minutes, 2 clubs right at 2 hrs.... then it is GO somewhere
  3. Jake, Good to hear from you, I am looking for input from ANYBODY ! I am not defending Underlug at all..... BUT Even though the rules state otherwise !! from the revolver shooters side of the fence it sure looks like it... Stage design allows UP to 9 per array now but notice it is UP TO !!!! it does not say "HAS TO" (Stage design has MUCHO to do with Entry level Revo shooters) The biggest thing That I hear....from IDPA shooters of all Divisions.... is that IPSICK is for shooting those "Fancy Guns" NOT that the Kimber I see at most of the matches is CHEAP (I can buy 2 625 for what they cost) USPSA has done a TERRIBLE JOB of marketing themselves (Us shooters too) towards the general public and Thanks to MOST of the Gun Magazines for Bashing USPSA shooting in the past (None seem to want to do any different either) We (USPSA) now have a poor public perception and thus don't apeal to the guy off the street... I am sure the Weekend Warriors at the local gunshop don't help much either when some new face comes in looking for something to shoot "IPSICK" with !!!! When I started this particular thread I was looking for "Why Revolver shooters from other disciplines Don't shoot USPSA???" There are most likely many answers to this question but I want to see the most common and then work on them !!!!!! For What it is Worth !!! SAM
  4. Kevin, You did the correct thing in the correct way ! If I was in your place I would do it exactly the same way ! If he had not thumbed it back and AD the second time I would have told him to UASC, if he clears without any problems he then get to either have it fixed to where it is reliable or replaced. (giving him cool off time at the same time!) My preference would be use a friends RELIABLE gun for the rest of the match !!!! GOOD JOB !!!!! Hop
  5. 8ring, I am 38 and pay my eye doctor to make sure I can see !!! I am using the Factory Front and the Medium real Millett (Brownells)... The Millett has a large enough groove that I can see through them like I like to. Before you go buy a new sight just get some paint and try different colors to see if that helps.... I have tried the Fiber optic on others guns and they seemed to be too much for me... all I could see was a big green or red blob. the gold bead may be the trick.... but I would try the Paint first. Hope that helps.... Hopalong Where are you at ? You can try mine out sometimes
  6. Well Jerry..... It's been 3 weeks...... I know you have shot it....... Where was it that I saw they weren't any good ???? Let us know how that Piece of $hit gun works, feals, ect.... IMHO Para is best entry level gun available HANDS Down, when a new shooter is good enough to where the gun is holding them back (Yeah right what does Todd Jarrett shoot?) then they can spend all that $$$$ on a CUSTOM Blaster !!!!! I broke out My Other para out this weekend (17 months since I have shot a bottomfeeder) and had ZERO problems out of it (brand new gun with 20-30 rounds through it before the match). Hope you like it, don't work so much you don't get to enjoy it !!! Hopalong And.... Black Dawson mag base goes along with the Red and silver so don't get too attached !!!
  7. Underlug, I am afraid the left coast will turn into an Island so there for I am trying to AVOID it at all costs !!! July------USPSA Nationals ????? We need more Wheel shooters anyway !!!!! Do have brother in Tuhunga,CA and Sister in Irvine,CA but they have lost their Minds and I don't associate with them anymore !!! HOP May Make Area-2 one of these days though !!!!
  8. Shooter GRRL M - Open Boy that would fix ole RB right up !!!!!!
  9. Here in the Sticks of Tennesee I still get the "Grand Ole Opry" on Monday Front sight usually shows up the second month of the cover March/April gets here April sometime (appearing to be well read) Hop
  10. Frank, The best time to hold a revolver match in Florida is WINTER TIME..... that way you get semi retired (for the winter) flat shooters too !!!! (and then we can laugh at them) Thanks for the input.... More of what I am looking for (I think) It kind of Ticks me off when we get 5-7 Revo shooters at some of the IDPA monthly matches and can't get more than the occasional other Revo shooter a year in USPSA. See Ya'll somewhere, sometime on a range Hop
  11. Dave, Do anything you can to help.......... but if you don't want to RO....DON'T Help can be put to use in other ways!!!!! Assist in stage design/setup.....or teardown help with range maintenance if needed ect.... The best way to not enjoy a new hobbie or one you are getting back into is to do something you don't want to.... Remember.......This stuff is supposed to be FUN !!!!!!! Hop
  12. Jake, I took it one step futher.... after not having enough room on the Revo squad for me and my Limited shooting buddy we got squadded elsewhere.... Not only did I not look, I didn't go watch any of the others either.... Not even Jerry Just shot my game as the stages came to me..... Kind of like Anderson did though (tried too hard on some stages that I thought I could really burn down and got burned down instead) But I did want to look a couple of times ..... Hop
  13. Underlug, Area-6..................................................May Arkansas Section - Saturday "revolver"...May Area-4..................................................June USPSA Nationals....................................July Area-5..................................................Maybe Tennessee Section.................................Setember???? Mississippi Section R/O staff (Friday).......October Missouri Fall Classic...............................October East Tx Section......................................Nov/Dec Maybe Damn Looks like I'll use up all the new gun money again this year Would be glad to shoot with you, I'm not very good at this thing but I sure do ENJOY it Hopalong
  14. YOU GO GIRL !!!!!!! Congrats !!!!! sam
  15. Underlug..... 3rd in Revolver Division that day !!! Hop
  16. yes Fomiester you got the question down..... Now what to do about it????? HOP By the Way.... Hi Richard G. Welcome, good to see you on the forums.... See you at Area-6?
  17. Change of subject but Not a Drift !!!!!!! I check my reaction time like this: gun loaded in hand on Target safety off.... friend with timer behind you.... R. U. Ready ????? Beep. Fire a shot as fast as you can react to hearing the beep.... Works Well Or you can do this with the Mouse!!! hop
  18. Man Nick..... the first time I shot Revo at a Match I came in 3rd..... And was the only Revo there Glad Kyle let you shoot in the same match as him and His PLASTIC MATELL TOY ! Glad you had fun..... and Kyle and Anderson too (watching you have fun) Hop (trigger works better for me with Remoil with Teflon) (haven't tried Slide glide Sorry BE)
  19. Jim, Coming from a converted Limited shooter to a Revo shooter here is my point of View take it or leave it... no matter but thought it might help. At all the local matches I attend but one they score for overall finish fine by me as I am Usually the ONLY revo shooter anyway...Plus I like to see where I fit against the guys around here! At a Section match or bigger where there should be other shooters (sometimes there is sometimes there isn't but it is getting better) I don't care where I stand against the Autoblasters I am NOT there to shoot against them!!! Back when I shot Limited I thought the EXACT same way.......Local match overall... Major match....Limited only!! I think (see signature below) there are enough differences between divisions to separate them at Majors but at the local level.... Let's just shoot !!! everyone has their friendly rivalries anyway Maybe That muddied the water up a little more. Hop/SAM
  20. I know you guys mean well.... BUT I am trying to figure out how some of the other "shooting sports" that have more participation in the revolver area get that participation... I understand ICORE Revolver shooters shooting revolver matches (not too hard to figure that one out) IDPA has a decent following of Revolver shooters look at the numbers .... last years IDPA Nationals 58 revolvers compared to USPSA 18 Take for instance the Smith&Wesson Championship 24 revolvers... compared to USPSA nationals 18????? Why can't USPSA/IPSC get these people to come shoot ????? It is not any harder just more shooting !!!! Is it the Autoloader shooting INTIMIDATES these guys/gals? Hell I don't know.... I guess we have to do it ourselves... I have been trying but it seems like a waste of time sometimes..... Hopalong BTW I shot a bottom feeder today just for the Hell of it (17 months since the last time) and had fun with it too... But will be back to the Tomorrow
  21. Jerry V, Welcome aboard !!! These guys/gals here are a pretty good bunch and they will steer you right. I started shooting revo in USPSA with a 4" 610 and still use it as a back-up for the 625... there is a Accurate .40 load out there you will just have to do some testing... Find you some round nose bullets (I use Precision Bullets) so reloads will be consistant and have fun.... If you find a 625 5" gun or a 25-2 and have the $$$$$ get it... if not KEEP shooting the 610 it is a Fine gun and with practice you can reload it just as well as a 625 !!! Moonclip guns are the way to go..... brass is all together when you go to pick it up and even at big Lost Brass matches you get yours back 686 is good gun but moonclip guns just make it easier. I am glad you enjoyed the match.... It takes a different mindset to Want to shoot revolvers in USPSA/IPSC because of all the shooting/reloading but man it is FUN If you have any questions.... Shoot !!! if you have any observations tell us we may need to hear them too !!! Glad to Have you we need more Revo shooters !!!!! SiGlady.... Thanks for the Info
  22. Nick, If you are satisfied with the 9 1/2 lbs on the trigger::::: degrease, Rem oil with teflon(just enough to know your rebound slide is lubed good and the trigger and Hammer Pivot). Not running everywhere..... 9 1/2 should be 100% on Federal, and Winchester.... don't know about Remington have not tried them and avoid CCI (hardest of all the primers) Rem and Win are close. If you want lighter you will HAVE to do the Federal thing. I have Vic Pickett Kit in mine and Have done the polish ect. 5 3/4 100% on Federal Primers.... (was 5 1/2 at Florida and had that "1" light strike) Glad to hear you had fun !!!! Sometimes these dudes can be frustrating..... Just like an Autoblaster Hopalong
  23. Good fpr you!!! Glad you enjoyed it Hop
  24. Damn what a crock !!!!B HOP Still have barrel, Good price !!!
