  1. Outerlimits, Was Kenneth Kimitsuka and/or Ian Onaga there? Kenneth shoots Limited, and Ian shoots Open. I shot the 2004 USPSA nats with those two, Really nice guys and good shooters too !!!! Glad you got to shoot, hope you got to meet Ian and Kenneth !!! Hopalong
  2. I have a Springield Scout/Squad rifle. The factory break is 1/8 th of an inch too long for USPSA. there is enough metal on the front to remove to make it legal and not effect the comp/break any. I myself have a second gen. break on mine developed by springfield while they were working on the SOCOM. Let me give you a brief over view of how they test their breaks. they install them on a fully funtional M14 and fire it on full auto..... they then watch the muzzle for climb. the standard flash hider seen on M1a does help vs. no break ect. The standard break that comes on the Scout squad allows muzzle climb but at a slower rate. The break that I have holds the gun pretty much level The break on the SOCOM drives the muzzle down. I use a red dot on mine on the forward scope mount and can run with the AR shooters until the targets get so far out the dot covers them up and I cant see them. Note on the running with ARs..... when I don't have to reload hope that helps, I really enjoy mine and don't even consider shooting one of the little whimpy mouse guns Hopalong
  3. Lee, Happy Birthday man !!!!!!! Good luck at Nationals, now that you are really not at JR !!!!! Hopalong / SAM

    Broken Parts

So much for my Old gun..... Now it is Jerrys NEW gun FWIW, Jerry I did break one of them on my very first Para after about 40,000+ rounds. Yours does not have that many through them, not even half. Unless you have really shot the SH!T out of it. Sounds like you have it pretty tricked out, maybe I'll get to shoot it again one of these days. Hopalong
  5. Ok, I see that little remark under my Avatar !!!!!!! Just for that the 625 is cleaner that it ever has been since I have owned it !!!! Thanks Dan, Mike, Cliff......(who's bullets will now stay in TN !!!) See ya'll Sunday !!!!! MR. Clean
  6. Byron, Congrats on the "top 20" keep up the good work !!!!!! Looks to me that one more good classifier would put you into "B" class, very good. Hopalong/Sam Keen
  7. I'm looking to rebuild a few 20 rounders for my M1a can anybody give me a source for the rebuild kits? I need followers and all... SAM
  8. Jerry doesn't have anything to worry about from Cliff, His bullets will still be in Tennessee !!! Rudy will keep not only jerry but the rest of us HONEST too !!!!! Gonna be FUN !!!...... Now where did I put the crying towel????? Hopalong
  9. Can anyone else think of a better way of keeping the competition down besides leaving their bullets in TN ???? I would rather had all the revos from last year return and the 13 new ones !!!! That would have easily been the largest growth in a division by far !!!! See you guys there !!! SAM
  10. Well, with 1 week before the Big Dance I have a few observations !!!!! Jerry Miculek is now on the Revolver Squad and not with Kay...... There is one poor Production shooter on the Revolver squad, what is up with that ??? There are 3 Revolver shooters not on the Revolver squad..... There are 7 returning wheel gun shooters from last year...... Number of wheelgunners in OHIO....20 A USPSA record for revos at 1 match Number of wheelgunners signed up for Nats.....20 tying the record set at OHIO.... Good luck to all, drink lots of water, gatoraid ect. enjoy yourselves.... See ya'll there..... hopalong
  11. Don't ya'll guys ever work ????
  12. Dan, I didn't say I was going to clean it... too much work I just said I need to put it on a schedule !!! See you next week. Hopalong
  13. Your supposed to clean them ???? I thought you were just supposed to keep shooting them !!! Now I'll just have to get mine on some kind of "Cleaning schedule" Hopalong
  14. GRRL, While we were talking about this "incident" at Memphis last weekend and you said all hands and fingers were accounted for and that RB was going to use the STRAY CAT I got the fealing that all was OK. NOW after a little time, I do have one more comment to add..... IF you need another gun..... I have 5 spare REVOLVERS that need some RANGE time !!! You want me to bring you one next week for BARRY ???? Good seeing you and RB !!!! Give "EM" Hell at Barry !!! SAM
  15. Ditto to BDH's comments !!!!!!! Well said Brian Hopalong/SAM KEEN
  16. I voted for "OTHER"....Clarks Range in the FALL Good easy to get to, by Car, Bus, Train, Plane..... FALL in Louisana is OK as it is cooler, less bugs, lower chance of rain....... Shreveport is large enough and has several other things to do for those who want to do other things, I myself go for the shooting and don't really care about "Tourist" attractions. I also think that the US Nationals should be the Last of the Major USPSA matches with the Area matches leading up to it, Section and "other" matches would just have to fight for a spot as usuall. The date of the US nationals should become "standard" as in the 2nd weekend of November "no matter what" then people can plan for it way ahead of time. Just my little bit of half cents.... Hopalong.
  17. AustinMike, There is a thread or two here on the Revolver forum about grips, just do a little looking and you will find many "ideas". Personally I like Jerry M. Grips but on a revolver grips are a real personal thing. Good luck, Welcome to the world of "REVOLVERS" HOPALONG
  18. Not quite ready for it myself!!! Reloads are almost below 1 second now but was wanting sub 1 second I have not managed a sub 3 El-Pres either.... that was another !!!! Draws are almost down to .50 at 20 yds so I'll take that !!! Loaded rounds make 168.750 Power factor in the Hot Humid TN environment!!! Almost did a 5 second mile !!!!! If I only had 1 more week See ya'll there anyway !!!! Hopalong
  19. Way to go TrigerTime !!!!!!! On the overall match win....... Baby steps....Baby steps !!!!!! Congrats again you deserve it. SAM
  20. Carmoney, The answer to that question is yes it can be done that way, and I'm not really opposed to that option, just thinking some of the ICORE shooters that don't shoot USPSA and are not members would/might come shoot 6 guns if it wasn't "Santioned" Remember the intent of it is to get as many REVOLVER shooters in 1 spot possible shooting a USPSA match to open the eyes of the non-believers!!!!! More comments and suggestions Please !!!!!! I would rather have to weigh lots of input from others than try to single handedly do this Even Better, others interested in getting it off the ground let me know and we'll set something up !!!! SAM
  21. Bruce, I would have to be there to see it to make sure, but I too have shot GP100 in IDPA and USPSA(some verry sparingly) Most likely would have shot 6 and reload with a complete 6 speedloader as that would help the reload to be consistant. The bigest thing about revolvers, Speedloader and moonclip guns is the "CONSISTANT RELIABLE" reload and any way you can make that more "able" to happen you are just giving yourself that much more help. Also let me add.... If in that array there were two targets wide open I might consider shooting one or two targets and then reloading and finishing out the stage. Esp if there was some movement where I could incorporate the reload into the movement even if it is just a step.(gains you time over a standing reload) Hope that helps, but I would really have to see the stage/array. SAM Flex, You know about Barry in JULY.... If I had to guess, I'd say the revolver division is way overloaded with Senior and Super Senior members, and you also know how they like Barry in JULY ... Yes I'm sure we have our own whimps in Revolver division but I also seem to keep hearing from folks I talk to about how they wouldn't shoot revolver in USPSA because it is just TOO HARD !!!! See you at Barry in JULY !!! HOPALONG
  22. Mike there is a clause about winning your class at an Area Match that gets you an automatic slot for the next years nationals, Check it out at www.USPSA.org. Something about Nationals slots policy..... See you in almost 2 weeks. SAM
