  1. What are some things you'd like to see in true Unlimited? Tripod mounted miniguns. Grenade launchers. Flamethrowers. Phased plasma lasers. I don't think fuel makes power factor But there's no question if you neutralized the paper targets.

  3. If skinny guys, of which I'm one, complain about the shell belts sliding down, has anyone thought about borrowing a page from Trooper Division and putting shoulder straps on one to make it like a military chest rig, just for shotgun shells? (Also, am I the only one who thinks that a shooter with a chest belt loaded with red shotgun shells looks eerily like a suicide bomber with a chest load of cartoon TNT?)
  4. They ran just fine in my CZ-712, sitting in the back of my truck in Texas in August...
  5. I haven't had any issues getting mine to run. As long as I keep it well lubed, it eats pretty much whatever I feed it. Runs Rio target like a champ. I'm just looking to get the loading port opened up for faster reloads, and wanted something to show the 'smith. Thanks.
  6. Has anyone here had the loading port on their -712 opened up? If so, can you post pics? I'm thinking of having mine done, and I'd like to have something to show the 'smith.
  7. I'm going cheap and sleeping at the RV park. I assume they have fire rings...ya'll are welcome to bring your cigars if you're shooting Thu/Fri.
  8. I will say that what set the hook for me was TXMG running their WWII division a couple of years ago (TXMG was also my 'local major' at the time). I already had a Garand and a basic 1911, so I could play the game for the price of a used Wingmaster, +2 tube, and the belt gear. I'm still one of those one local match a month and a local major once a year shooters (sounds almost like the Army Reserve when you put it that way). I've got a dedicated (low cost) shotgun (CZ-712) and an M&P Pro, but my AR is still one that I had before I started. So I'm pretty much exactly the kind of shooter the M3K is meant for. (And if I'd heard about it in late 2012, when I bought my CZ,I might well have gone with the Stoeger.)
  9. ^^^This. I'd definitely prefer to shoot the afternoon on the first day and morning on the second. If squad selection governs that, I'll select accordingly.
  10. OK, I am officially in for Thu-Fri. Anyone else shooting Thu-Fri and planning on staying at the Dickens RV park?
  11. I would assume the prize table would be exactly the same, just maybe broken up more to add for the extra shooters. I don't think they would run 2 prize tables for each group depending on what days you shoot. I would think they guys shooting Thursday Friday would just have to wait until Sunday to find out their placement overall and get to walk the tables. I say make the jump, one less competitor in TO for me then But how many folks who shoot Thu-Fri are going to just hang out til Sunday afternoon, vice going home? especially non-locals?
  12. Cz-712. Got it when it was the low cost option, before the Stoeger hit the scene.
  13. I've got the leave days to use...so I volunteered for the Thu-Fri crew. Curious how the prize table(s) will work. Separate for each group? I'm also fighting the temptation to change my TO to HI and run my Garand. Because PING!
  14. Anyone have a good source for both the shellholder and Tek-Loks? (to avoid paying double shipping)
  15. I'm still in the "waiting for invoice" boat. When I registered for the Freedom Munitions match in SC (also run by Charles and crew), I seem to recall my invoice taking several days, and I was among the very first registrants. (#5020 on this one.)
  16. Now...what time. 2014 filled up in less than 30 minutes...I don't want to be late this time.
  17. I will first caveat this by noting that I do not have cable TV, and thus I can only see what people post on Youtube of FB (Thanks Jesse!) But is it just me, or is there a serious lack of target variety in the stages for the Pro Series Nationals (from this past weekend)? All of the stages seemed to be different combinations of the same three things: 1) Rifle plate rack at about 75-100m 2) Pistol plates or poppers 3) Shotgun clays (stationary) or poppers. No Texas stars, Polish plate racks, spinners, or popper-pigeon launcher combos. I understand that certain concessions must be made to make things TV-friendly. 2 shooters shooting at targets 500m downrange, while a great test of skill, doesn't work that well on TV. Likewise, few people want to watch a duel of shotgun loading speed. But what prevents the use of Texas stars or Polish plate racks? I know they'd be slower than just blazing through a row of steels or poppers, but I'm pretty sure Miculek or Horner can probably clean one faster than I can empty my pistol into the berm. And I think a bank of 4 popper-pigeon launcher combo targets would be great on TV (although not so great for stages run after sundown.) (Originally posted on the 3GN forum on arf.com, but this place gets more traffic)
  18. That was my thought exactly, I was just hesitant especially after seeing a beta mag in one of the YouTube clips. Before there were Surefire mags, open division shooters had to avoid reloading somehow.
  19. I recommend a hand grenade. A well-placed flash-bang should be enough.
  20. Pretty tough on a pinned and welded comp. Not to mention making it into an SBR if you don't put a new brake/FH of appropriate length back on right away...
  21. WWII division at TX multigun a couple of years ago was awesome!!! Would've been more awesome if I hadn't earned myself at trip to Dairy Queen...at least I got to shoot 10 out of 12 stages. I used the Garand some at local matches (CCC) as well...on the 500 yard target, it was BANG-PING-"Hit!"-BEEP! Great feeling. Especially when only about half the TO guys could hit the 500.
