Well, I shot out to 500 for the first (and thus far only) time at the All Army matches back in 2007, with a GI spec M16A2. (AMU was nice enough to provide Black Hills Match ammo, though.) I've never had the available facilities to take my current rifle past 100, so it'll be interesting.

I just found out about CCC Shooters a week or so ago. Won't be able to make it this month. (Pesky term papers) Never shot 3-gun before. Looking forward to January!

I haven't seen a single pic of a -97 yet, and the only pic I have at the moment isn't that great, but here it is... Hope nobody objects...(and yes, that's my wife holding it)

So far, all of the feed problems I've had have been mag-related, at least with ball ammo. (JHPs are another matter) The factory mag (just one, I bought it used) has no problems. The replacement mags have spring problems - they have too much spring. As in, the spring physically occupies too much space inside the mag body, so you have to really jam the 10th round to get it in, and then it doesn't feed right. Load only 9 rounds or less, no issues. My wife is going to love having pistol guts spread all over the kitchen table...

Oh yeah, grips. The wood ones work fine, but I haven't tried shooting it when things get really sweaty. I wish CZ sold the rubber ones from the -97BD separately. I'm not reloading at the moment. I've got the hardware, just not the time. So factory ammo for me.

Howdy ya'll- I'm just getting started with USPSA. All of my previous competitive shooting experience is either Olympic 3-position rifle (in college) and one trip to the All Army matches (rifle and pistol). No action type stuff. For budget reasons, I'll probably use my carry pistol (Springer Commander-type 1911) for my first few matches (I already have a holster and mag carriers), but eventually I'd like to run my CZ-97B, probably in L-10. It's bone stock right now, but it outshoots every other pistol in my safe. What mods would you folks recommend, and in what order? Off the top of my head, I'd say the first priorities are: 1. Removing the mag brake. 2. New sights. Stock sights aren't horrible (I have two USGI M1911A1s; those have horrible sights), but they could be much better. Any recommendations, and sources for same? Thanks in advance.
