  1. Got my email notice. It reads: Thanks for registering for the 2014 USPSA Handgun Nationals in St. George, UT! You are shooter 543 out of 800 There are 480 spots in the Thu-Sun schedule and 240 in the Mon-Wed schedule. 409 people were approved in by slots prior to online registration opening on 2 June. Am I #543 of 720 total slots available (of which the first 409 were the people awards slots), or am I #543 and only 311 spaces remain (720 minus 409)? I am optimistic because a friend who was given a slot from a local club received an email reading he was #45 of 800. Lester
  2. As you can see it's gotten worse. I swear my usual load out is the following: CZ 75 SP-01 (main compartment) Six mags (main compartment) 200 rounds (ALWAYS in the bottom compartment) Timer, pens, paper... (upper right) Spare batteries, 2 AA, 1 9v (upper right) ESS eye protection (clipped to outside) Sordin earmuffs (main compartment) Multitool (upper left) That' it.

    Accu Shadow mag drop

The problem is that you're pushing the mag release too hard. When you do that, the spring binds and pins the mag so it won't drop. Try pushing the release down partially without pressing it all the way down. See if the mag drops. There's a thread on how to bend the mag release spring to eliminate this problem. I've done it on both of my CZs. Found it! http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=159812&p=1854104
  4. Here's an update. I got a response from CED. It seems no other complaints exist. Guess I'm special... The excessive weight of an SP-01, six magazines and 200 rounds of 9mm is overwhelming for this bag. We are sorry to hear your comments and see the pictures. We have not had any returns with the medium size backpack to date. We had a few with the larger model, and the comments I had seen on Brian's forum related to that model. But there has been less than 4 pcs. returned to date with several thousand sold. Thus, I suspect that the wear is directly related to the usage. There is always some structure in any range bag or backpack that will shift and change over time and use. Fabric will stretch with amount of things put inside and their weight and type of use will always eventually result in wear on any product. Having said this, there was only one issue with the medium backpack which we did modify after the initial production and I am not sure if you have a modified unit or not? We increased the size of the plastic box slightly larger for the primary purpose of covering the opening space more. But it does add 5cm to the box size giving slightly more structure to the side walls. If you can open the lower compartment and take a picture of it opened showing me the plastic box inside it would help me see which you have? Also possibly measure the height of the plastic box itself for me. If you have the smaller one, we could send you out the amended version for you to try and see if it helped? Other than this, you are always welcome to return it to us for us to review and determine if there is any defect in the stitching or lining material used in construction or if we can repair it for you. If it is only 8 months old, this would be a warranty service if something was wrong with it in that regard.
  5. What was the remedy? Take some material off the backside of the disconnector "leg"?
  6. Call Dave @ CGW. There is a surface on the disconnector that requires a little work. He can tell you exactly where and it will take care of the problem.

    Spare parts?

Which Slide Stop for a SP-01 Shadow?Item Number: 10003 Wider Paddle Style, Has the longer protruding knub (that hits the magazine follower for Slide lock back). This is the original factory part for the SP01 and Shadow, but we suggest the slide stop with the shorter knub, 10002 This 10002 one does not interfere with the nose of the bullet as the magazine is ejected. BUT THIS POST for part # 10002 from a reviewer has me concerned ………… Slide stop does not work with Mec-Gar mags Mike Hanrahan (Anchorage, AK) 11/24/2011 2:06 PM I replaced my broken SP01 Shadow original slide stop with this one and found that although it works perfectly with the CZ factory mags, the 19 round Mec-Gars (with the blue follower) do not slide lock open after the last round is fired. Did not have a problem with the Mec-Gars with the old slide stop. Angus Reply (This Slide stop has a shorter nose, and if the followers have a different shaped indent for the slide stop, may not lock the slide back on the last round, they work fine on FACTORY CZ magazines. But these followers do stop the problems of the nose of the bullets hanging up on the slide stop.) Same question here. I have a Shadow Custom built by the CZ Custom shop. When the guys take a stock Shadow and customize it, do they keep the standard slide stop that came with the Shadow or do they replace it? I want a spare and the one that came on my Shadow Custom works perfectly. Lester
  8. +1 on loctite. Mine did the same.
  9. I'd be in on this. love to shoot other peoples creations. SEND IT! Get in line...
  10. Do you need someone to shoot a Limited build? Do I get a Kneeling Atlas Techwear jersey? Lester
  11. Funny you should say that. My SP-01 with competition hammer has a safety that will not operate with the hammer down. My SP-01 Shadow with a competition hammer (both guns tuned by CZ Custom) allows me to actuate the safety up and down when the hammer is down. i don't think it is supposed to. My understanding is that the CZ safety only designed for hammer fully cocked? Hammer forward the safety should not be engaged? http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=186846
  12. Did you see this? Maybe it will help. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=191773
  13. Anyway, you know why you're in the CZ forum... you have Shadow-envy.
  14. Lol! I already had black. I got fashion red from you to replace them. Ive noticed they are faster. "cause ya got em from from me, and I'm awesome! ha ha haaaaa! I agree with Les! I would also look into the BOSS mount from Ben's shop. It's the shit! Why am I in the CZ forum?
  15. DAA belt, Racer mag pouches, and Bladetech DOH holster. Love them all. I have the Racemaster pouches on my Limited rig, but I actually prefer the less expensive Racers. They're lighter and I don't miss the swivel mount at all.
  16. I think the question is if the hammer from a Shadow is allowed on a P-09. The answer is yes, since the Shadow is on the list.
  17. Appendix D4, 21.6 addresses the use of aftermarket external parts like hammers. I believe the popular interpretation is that external parts may only be replaced with OEM parts which are offered on the specific model of gun, another approved gun from the same manufacturer. As for hammers, I use this: http://czcustom.com/CZ_SA_DA-Competition-Hammer.aspx Regarding pre-travel, use the pre-B disconnector: http://czcustom.com/cz75disconnectorshrt.aspx
  18. I had to fit the block to my Gen4 35. Because of the mutitudes of variants from Gen 1 to 4, the block is close but not perfect for any one of them. It took a little time with a flat file and I was good to go. Really easy mod. Make sure you file the side away from the locking lever. See here: http://www.racemaster.info/2010/08/custom-fitting-glock/
  19. This is a sticky worthy post. Really comprehensive and easy to follow. Good stuff John. Lester
  20. Thanks for the feedback. I just went back to the audiologist. Per recommendation by Jack (ESP) we're redoing the mold using a bite block. It keeps the mouth open during the creation of the impression. For some people, when the jaw is closed it presses up on the ear canal so he wants the impression done with mouth open. Will report back in two weeks.
  21. Just use a punch. Make sure the gun is against a solid surface and give it a really good whack.
  22. I posted a question about this to Saul on the DAA vendor subforum. He said he would look into it. The thread is here.
  23. I don't recognize the your handle/ user name, but I recognize that pretty gun. See you next Saturday. Lester
  24. I shot an outdoor USPSA match today. Put in my cool new ESP Digital Elite ear protection that I hadn't had a chance to try since picking them up due to the rain. While I waited my turn, they didn't attenuate the gun shots as much as I expected and had to switch back to my Pro-Ears before it was my turn to shoot. I am hoping that getting them resized/ remade will solve the problem, but as they are now, there's no way I can shoot with them. I confirmed with they were in all the way and were properly seated. Anyone else have a similar problem and had to have them remolded? Lester
