Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I have loctited the set screw but I'm going to take it out and loctite the sight proper. It is the strangest thing, I can't figure out how it just slides out in the case but it's fine in matches, practice, etc.
  2. I've had a recurring problem over the past couple years of shooting my Shadow SP01. I use the case it came in to store it, and frequently when I take it out after it's been in there a while, the rear sight has drifted. The set screw is in there tightly. I have witness marks to drift it right back, but it's irritating nonetheless. What options are people liking for rear sights?
  3. Thanks, that was really helpful. 'll keep any eye out for 8 shot 357's now. Which is preferable? 327 or 627?
  4. Simlar question as someone who wants to start shooting revo minor: Is the only 9mm option the new S&W's? I really don't want to get into a new caliber, but if the 627 is far and away the better option I might be swayed.
  5. Blade-Tech DOH and CR Speed everything else. I'm glad I found this thread, the BOSS looks like it solves my biggest gripes about the DOH.
  6. All the Ironmind stuff is great for grip. Deadlifts will be great for your grip as well, but working grip specifically has some big advantages. I found working with the #2 made deadlifting easier because it eliminated the grip weakness. I also like the Eagle Claw pullup straps. Just don't forget to do some hand rehab stuff (Ironmind has it as well) because you can be putting a lot of strain on some small parts.
  7. There are also a lot of advocates for more trigger finger on a Glock. If the adjustments helps, it's the right answer.
  8. This is key. I need to better establish this routine, but it's like any sport where you control the timing (hitting in baseball comes to mind) and you can set yourself up. Repeatability is so key, being able to reset into the same old ritual is huge.
  9. Can you elaborate on the difference? I have the BT but there are things about it I don't quite like, mostly the angle that it sits (canted out). How does the PDR sit in that regard? I figure the Ghost Stinger is another option.

    New magazine option

Another vote for these mags. I've got 5 and they are great.
  11. I didn't know this was a thing, and my press area gets a little dark so I put one together myself with parts off of Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002QQ48TK/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The light comes with a DC pigtail attached at one end of the strip so it's stupid easy when you buy the power supply. They also have an adhesive backing so I just attached it along the inside of the frame and it gives enough light with three LED's for me to always have a clear look inside the case. I just electrical taped the pigtail down the frame so it's out of the way and I plug it in before I start loading. Michael, I recommend you take a look at that. The power supply that works is listed on Amazon in the "frequently bought together" section. For a little over 20 bucks you'll have a replacement and a supply of LED's to last a long time.

Hello, I'm an aspiring competitive shooter based out of the Fort Bragg area. Hopefully I can start making my way to some local competitions, of which there are a few. Anything that lets me run my Shadow will be a good experience, I think. I'd like to venture into some multi-gun, as well. I have not yet been able to get out there and compete due to other commitments, but I'm going to do some reading on these forums and utilize the knowledge to help me out before I arrive at the range.
  13. My "workplace" experience with the single-point sling confirms what everyone here has already said. I love ATAS, I'm stealing that. But in all seriousness, the jewels did not like the single point sling. For a flat range environment doing drills, it works great, but for moving and shooting, there is nothing better than the quick-adjust two-point. I have personally used the Vickers sling, and I know a lot of guys who use a VTAC, they seem about the same in function.
