2005 Rocky Mountain 3-Gun
bigbrowndog replied to rmfield's topic in Multi-Gun, Rifle & Shotgun Match Announcements
kurt, what's work???? sorry to hear that. hopefully you can shoot the match. whats your shooting schedule look like. email me. i'd like to shoot with you again dude. by the way its chrismas morning and i've been at work since noon yesterday. so i know how it feels. see ya trapr -
also, in unlimited division, if i recall correctly you will be competing against open glocks, so if you're shooting a limited pistol you are at a definite disadvantage. personally i would like to see glock start a master limited division.

i too, shoot a shorty FAL in matches occassionally as far as ballisticsare concerned when i chrono'd my loads (about 10 different ones) it worked out that i got 300 savage ballistics, which is not bad at all. considering the savage velocities are from a 22" barrel. loads were everything from 110"s to 180's and everything ran thru the gun flawlessly.

Nationals Entry Fees
bigbrowndog replied to pskys2's topic in Match Announcements - Pistol Only - USPSA, IPSC & Misc.
any idea if there will be a discount for shooting both? -
Flex, do i understand you correct that a minor caliber receive less penalty for mikes and no shoots, or did i misunderstand your point. trapr

before anyone loses their hair about this topic, i couldn't find a category for 3 gun pistol........ at the 3 gun nationals whenever minor caliber weapons were fired the scoring zones that were less than A's were blacked out, due to scoring program incapabilities, or ease of scoring whatever..... at that point would it not be an advantage to shoot minor caliber pistol as well, if you gotta aim for A's anyway why not shoot, minor loads and more ammo in your gun? if someone has insight into this situation, please lets discuss this. if i'm off my rocker or if the problem has been solved by the rules commitee, could someone fill me in. thanks trapr

Arkansas Section 3-gun
bigbrowndog replied to hopalong's topic in Multi-Gun, Rifle & Shotgun Match Announcements
like kurt, work might get in my way, however after my disasterous rifle stages at OK3G i am in need of some revenge against the hawkins brothers, ha ha..... seriously, they shot a good match, and choked myself to death with the AR. but i'd like to make the arkansas match, i don't know if benny was counting me in on his count of six texans. i hope kurt can make this one too....... trapr -
Carmoney, shred and i roomed together last year, and he is correct, in that the match is an event. i normally send my ammo to the match hotel, and have the person in charge of handling SC coordination there at the hotel sign for it, and hold it for me till i arrive i call before i leave to ensure that it has arrived, and all is well. in the past i've not had a problem, and will probably do it again this year. the hotel staff is very friendly and helpful with the shooters. trying to leave on a plane after the prize table is a very stressful situation, it is much better to try and leave on monday, if you can swing it. if you have any other questions, i don't know if shred will make it this year, but i will be there. feel free to come up and introduce yourself, its always good to make new friends. i'm normally attached to a big brown dog, who seems to have more friends at shooting matches than i have, everybody seems to be glad to see him, and couldn't care less that i made it. good luck and hope to meet you there.........trapr

any be'ers going to the STI- handgunner match, look me up and say HI!. its always nice to meet new people, if you've got any questions about the match, i'd be happy to help any way i can. i know SHRED is also supposed to be there, for any of you shooting open i'm sure he could answer you're questions as well, it'll be his second year, for the stock gunners its my 6th year, if you have questions and i can't make up an answer, i can probably find you someone who can. i'll be easy tio spot, i'm normally attached to a big brown dog. trapr

chandlersniper, they are the same ......buy away. i believe the benefit of the spreaders is that you can use a tighter choke for more reliable popper and plate knockin' over, but still get a wide pattern for clays. kurtm, has a lt. mod. choke for everything, and it allows cyl choke like patterns with spreaders. hope this clears up the use of spreaders for you. trapr

THREE GUN match
bigbrowndog replied to jkmccoy's topic in Multi-Gun, Rifle & Shotgun Match Announcements
if you guys need to get ahold of me, go to the alpha-mike shooters website and call one of the members, they can all get ahold of me, or you can get me thru txipsc. i'd like to help. as far as scoring, you might think about using multi gun rules. instead of uspsa. trapr -
sorry, my bad.....that was with cyl. choke, from an 18.5" barrel trapr
-
you guys should listen to benny!!!!! he was getting 36" spread at 10 yds, in mississippi, 48" at 15 yds. of course this was after the home brew. all kidding, aside, i talked kurt miller into letting me have 7 of the kent brand, and seven fiocchi, they both gave close to 30" at 20yds, with the pattern well saturated with pellets. trapr

Mississippi State 3 Gun Match
bigbrowndog replied to Shooter Grrl's topic in Multi-Gun, Rifle & Shotgun Match Announcements
Erik, it was good to meet you, again say hi to fat skinny guy for me. you're right about the match it was definetly worth 14 to 15 hrs on the road, i look forward to going again. you folks that missed it, missed some really good shooters and some eye opening displays shooting, it was also good to see the really good ones screw up occassionally. it makes you realize, you don't have to be perfect, just consistent. congrats to the RO/Staff, and the winners. it was a pleasure to finally meet shooter grrl. trapr -
talk at the miss. match was late sept for jeff's match, but thats not official, and watch out for his little 20, if he decides to have a side match. (sweeeeet). trapr

i've heard it here before, but it obviously needs repeating. its not the shotgun its the operator. i'm sure if you gave kurt an 1100cm, he'd still be competitive with it, he just wouldn't like it as much as his own baby.

kurtm, i'll be there, one way or another. my entry is in, and i've got the vacation. i'm running down to shoot with benny this weekend, an make sure i've got a ride. if not i'll get with you on a rendevous spot, if the offer for a ride is still available. what i'm wondering is if you and i are shooting limited, who are the other two guys? they've only got four limited shooters signed up! BTW, i think i can get four rounds out of the benelli, in 3 secs. if i pull the trigger real fast.
