Looks for Match

Looks for Match (2/11)

  1. I have an Elite Match in 10mm. Shoots like a dream but I spend the whole match worried I'll loose a piece of brass and can't afford it. Thinking about a caliber change to .40S&W or possibly even a 9mm. anyone done one of these changes? What all is required? New slide and Barrel or just new Barrel? I assume a new mag would be required. Thoughts and comments please.
  2. Let me first this is for one hand bullseye competition. Looking for some pre-cut flexible grip tape for backstrap of M9 Beretta.

  4. Yes but that is my main game. I can shoot accurate OR I can shoot fast. it is combining them that is likely to make me crazy.
  5. Just got back after the NRA national pistol matches at Camp Perry Ohio. We are precision one hand shooters. The Great Rob Leatham was there doing his best and holding his own. This from the man who can run a plate rack in his sleep. At the end of the NRA matches the Civilian Marksmanship Program holds two big matches. The Presidents pistol match and the National trophy Individual. Both using iron sight and stock configuration "service pistol" either M9 Beretta or 1911. There is a medal for those who earn the top 100 positions. Rob made his President's 100 medal. Nice guy, great multi-discipline competitor. If you really want to improve your long game marksmanship, consider an occassional bullseye match. link: http://ct.thecmp.org/app/v1/index.php?do=match&task=edit&tab=results&match=10086
  6. Subject line says it all. 60-shot 10m air pistol match. When 20 May 2013, range opens at 5, match at 6 or sooner if line full You can register as late as 7pm and be able to complete in the match. Where, Basement of the ROTC building, Converse Hall, 2121 Tuttle Park Place. Columbus Ohio. Who - sponsored by the pistol coaches at THE Ohio State University (go bucks) If you'd like to attend but don't have the proper equipment, or would just like to see a match. Please show up. There are several loaner pistols available. There is a small fee for the match to cover cost of targets, I think it is $3 or something like that. If you want to know what real sight alignment and follow-thru means, come on out. Kyle, I'll be looking for you to be there, I'm bringing several loaner pistol. 2013-05-20 Air Match.doc Hope to see you there.
  7. As far as I know, yes. Take a walk over there one day. In the basement of the ROTC building. Talk to Either coach, Jim Sweeny or Donna Kinsley. If you are on campus. I believe there is also a club that meets weekly down there to practice. Check into it. Coach also offers several matches throughout the year. A holiday match around christmas time, etc. Say hi next time you catch me at the range. I usually carry a shooting bucket. One of the job site or fishing buckets where you have all your gear in the bucket and you can sit on it.
  8. I've had similar issues when a piece of polishing media was in the flash hole. Do you de-prime then polish? I suspect the bolt pressure chamber failed first. Definitely peg you thrill-o-meter.
  9. Ohio State University is conducting a bullseye pistol league on Monday evenings. I have a match flyer in word format if interested. Basically .22 rim fire league. $3 per 60-shot relay to cover the cost of targets, award(s) and banquet. 20 shots slow fire, 20 shot timed fire, 20 shots rapid fire. Awards for special categories like, iron sights, two hand, Junior, and women shooters. Fun and family friendly atmosphere and teaches proper trigger control. When? Monday Evening, range opens at 5pm, first relay starts at 6 or when line is full. 3 or more relays to follow. Where? 2121 Tuttle park place. Plugs into your GPS 315 South to Lane Avenue, Turn Left (East) Only go about .8 miles. Once you cross the bridge, the next light is Perry St. Turn Right into the parking lot. You want to park somewhere on the East South East side of the lot. The Range is in the basement of the ROTC building. (big "ROTC" on the side of the building) for more information send me a PM or e-mail: motorcycle(underscore)dan(at)yahoo(dot)com Kyle, bring some of your lightning fast IPSC buds so they might learn how to shoot more Alpha's Feel Free to pass it on or post on various gun site bulletin boards.
  10. So check into the hotel and show up at the new shooter meeting on Tuesday. What time and where is that? Don't have my packet with me to check thought I'd post and ask.
  11. Okay I'll bring more. Is there a schedule of events I need to know before I head out. Where to be when? I'm pre-registered with the NRA and the hotel.
  12. I'm headed west next Friday. Have a wedding celebration on Saturday then on to the Cup. Packing up now, HOW much ammo to bring? I know 192 but figured extra would be nice or necessary. is 400 too much? Not enough? Anything else other than magazines, holster rig, hat, rain gear, that I should bring? Has some brilliant computer savvy person put a checklist on the internet somewhere? Links appreciated.
  13. Give or take $300 so about the same. Any idea what time the award ceremony will be. My thought was to check out of the hotel, but stay for ceremony. Hit the road and put in a few miles east bound. I have family near St. Louis so might push through. Anyone coming from Ohio area and want to buddy up? Might ride the mota-cicle, See if I can't spark some interest with Pat, 41mag
  14. reservations at the Holiday Inn Select. Which holiday inn is the host hotel for the match? "Executive Center - Columbia Mall" I hope so, that's where I made reservations. I booked a room check in 25th through morning of 29th. Isn't there some special gathering for new persons to show us the ropes on the event? I know there is an event calendar somewhere, Googling now....
  15. Entry Here: https://www.nrahq.org/compete/bianchi/Default.asp Gulp, well there goes my rent money for this month. The landlord will have to understand.
