  1. You should go and enjoy! If you don't go, and if for any reason you don't do good at the SC match, you'll kill yourself for shooting bad and not going. If you do go (no regrets there for sure) and shoot well at the match... hey man, you just made your year! Just practice before you leave.
  2. Way to go Sandoz. I've been building PC's since the 8086 era and IMHO, never buy a brand name PC. Buy brand name components and have a pcsmith build it for you, just like the blasters. Might cost more, but you're getting a more versatile PC for future upgrades. That's just me though.
  3. GreamReaper, I have a Benelli Nova with a 28" VR interchangeable barrel and thinking of having it cut down to 22". Don't know if its a good idea and who could do it. It's a bit heavy but I think it would be really nice for He-Man. The Benelli website shows a +3 mag extension for the H20 model. It would be nice if somebody can make a +4 extension. Add the recoil reducer and it should be a nice blaster. Will let you know what I can find; or if anybody knows somebody please share. Thanks.
  4. I agree on the 2MOA for close targets. If it can be made with a 30mm tube and a wide angle lens like the Simmons ProDiamond. Also make it a real 1x and under $300, I'll buy one.
  5. Another one for the Simmons ProDiamond. I will be mounting it on my M1A like Airedale. I think a good non magnified dot is perfect for AR's, IMHO.
  6. CED does not have a Prochrono, do they? They have the Millennium Chronograph. Competition Electronics have the Prochrono. Anyway, FWIW I just got a CED Millennium and just love it. Features are easy to use and it even hooks up to your PC. Data can be easily merged into a spreadsheet and the infrared feature sets it off from the others.
  7. Just had my experience last Sunday. Shot a stage without plugs and I still have the constant ringing after three days. Its pretty bad when inside a noisy place, but my two little girls' tantrums sounds the same .
  8. Another one for AZ in January. Sounds like a lot of fun, this is what practical shooting is all about! Can't imagine how the after shooting get together will be like. Barbecue at the range? A one day match sounds good, but I'm sure its going to be jam packed with people that it might need to stretch out to two days.
  9. Rika, if ever you decided to go towards a 1911 for L-10 there's a gunsmith in Castro Valley who does wonders with 1911 grips. John Jardine of Jardine's Custom will work with you for your ideal grip. Check his website at http://www.jardinescustom.com I had a friend that had his 1911 fitted to his small hand. I believe Billy and Lily had guns made by him too, you can get feedbacks from them as well. Good luck!
  10. Yeah raz-o! I was able to get one and will be using it on my M1A. Will see how it works at next month's match. I think Simmons will be coming out with a Master Series ProDiamond line, coming soon at www.midwayusa.com. Thanks
  11. Thanks mick, I was actually leaning towards the CQT; ACOG is too expensive. I recently had a chance to check out the Simmons ProDiamond 1.5-5x20mm and liked the reticle. Glass is decent and the FOV looks good. For about $60.00, I just might consider it and a I've been reading a lot of good things from shooters using it.
  12. ima, some of the shooters who uses the 012 and CR belt uses stick on velcro. If you can sew it on the existing holes, that will be the ticket. Eventually, the adhesive on the velcro will wear out and should be replaced with new ones.
  13. You go Benny!!! Cheering for the M2 owners...to feel good for myself
  14. 6mm, since your son is shooting a Kimber 45 he will be shooting in Limited-10 or Limited division as no single action auto allowed in Production. Considering this, the $75 Safariland 012 is your best bet, but might be to advanced of a holster. IMHO better to start training with the advance equipment to develop the advance skills. I started my son with a 012 with lots of practice in drawing and reholstering, I'm sure your son will love it. Great deal for $75, you just need to get another one for IDPA; or you can get a good kydex for both type of shooting. BladeTech makes awesome holster and mag pouches, get the mag pouch with TekLok.
  15. Very nice pictures guys, I can't wait to finish mine. Learning a lot just by looking at your setup. So, since I have a SA receiver, am I better off with a Smith mount? Already got a quote from Frank Sottile for an ARMS #18 and was going to order standard height rings, good thing you guys mentioned that it should be medium. Does it require a lot of modification on the ARMS mount to fit my SA? It's a lot cheaper than the Smith mount. Lastly, how do you guys do in 3-gun matches with your M1As? Especially in hoser stages.
  16. Thank you much for your replies, I will be checking out your suggestions. Especially Airedale's tip on the stock. Scooter, what custom stock did you use? So, I guess everyone agrees that the 3rd Generation mount has to go. Yeah Huck, show us some pics. Thanks
  17. Trying to justify purchasing a new mount for my M1A. I want to install a Simmons Pro Diamond on my rifle and tried it on a Springfield Armory 3rd Generation mount. I find it too high and requires more of a chin weld. I'm looking at a Sadlak or a Smith Enterprise rail but want to get information before hurting my pocket. For those who had first hand experience with these mounts, which one is low enough to allow a cheek weld? Is it worth the money, or is there an alternative? I don't know if a cheek piece on the buttstock is a good idea, but will consider if its the only way. Thanks in advance.
  18. Ouch! Just picked the M2 over the M1 plus $200 more
  19. With enough patience, I usually get a good bunch from e-bay for a good price.
  20. Just got mine in GOLD, for my Gold Cup Also added one of the Buttstock ammo caddy for the rifle and came back with an error. Clicked on the browser's Back button and viewed the shopping cart. It added the caddy but displayed a 0.00 for the price. I did not bother taking it out and figured that it will alert them of the error. Package came in and what do you know, they included a caddy for the shotgun with an orange shell holder and was not charged for it.
  21. Airedale, just ordered the Simmons Pro Diamond from CDNN for $49.99 plus shipping. Great deal! What rings did you use and what mount? I am using the 3rd Generation mount, which I think is too high. Kellyn, next will be the comp. Any recipe for the ammo? EricW, got the o-rings for the 1100 Tuesday. Thanks, what a bargain. Thank you all for your response, I'm glad I asked.
  22. Funny, it was the same article that was on Front Sight that made me decide on the SX2. Really looks nice too. Anyway, will see how my new Benelli M2 works. They said that Benny Hill works wonders on making it shoot flat. I'll probably sell my 1100CM and get an SX2. See what you did, you got me thinking about it .
  23. Hats off to your website. Great idea! Is there a plan for adding your own forum ? Just an idea.
  24. Being a Californian I decided to go with an M1A Standard rifle for 3-gun. I'm a medium built guy, 216 lbs. and find the rifle a little heavy to shoot and cannot really go fast with it. Do you guys have suggestions how I can shoot this thing with less recoil? Any recommendations on optics? I have the Springfield Armory 6X40 on it but have trouble shooting on close ranges, better off using iron sights. Thanks.
