  1. Never used an Everglades. On CRS it’s a straight draw. You can not scoop it forward. It should be run vertically or close to it.
  2. If the CR Speed is adjusted correctly it won’t need a magnet or anything else. I’ve seen too many dropped pistols from other race holsters s like ghost or similar unsupported race rigs. CR Speed locks up securely. It may not be for you but keep trying different rigs until you find something that works for you.
  3. CR Speed for me. I use their belt, mag pouches and holster for Open and Limited. Revolver it's their belt and holster. It's just bomb proof gear. The finger index on the mag pouches and easy adjustability are fantastic. The holster is very adjustable, super secure and once the lever is locked the gun isn't going to fall off the holster under any circumstances. Everyone has their favorite and I guess the division you shoot plays a role but buy once with CR Speed and move on. Best is a personal opinion, many manufacturers make high quality gear and CR Speed is one of them.
  4. Have to laugh because I can relate. Due to work cut backs I had to cut back on shooting. Just had too many obligations. Now I can start working a match a month back into the program. Really wanted to get back to revolver again, just love the reloads. Too bad ICOR is all but dead in SoCA. I’ve got other divisions like Open and Limited. Aside from Open revolver I like Open USPSA. Recently shot well with revolver (625) iron sight and Limited gun (2011 Brazos) but just did a match 1911 L10, (Wilson 1911) not so good. Bad ammo because I was to lazy to reload. 3 or 4 marginal primers and 2 squibs. Now that will wreck your day. Note to self make sure you ammo and equipment is ready to go. Been 10 years since I shot a 1911 and the grip safety was really messing with my grip. Holster needed adjusting and I never did it hence poor draws and grip acquisitions all day. Had a good time but really under performed. Guess it was just nice to see old friends and be on the range. Thinking Open will be my next match so time to start dry firing again. That should get me back into the action. The reason I had to laugh in the beginning you guys are saying you’re in your 30’s, 40’s and 50’s. Somehow I got into my 60’s! Dang Super Seniors isn’t far off!
  5. Nice drill. Can I start at point blank range? I'll have to try this one.
  6. Where did you get that low profile red dot mount? Very nice.
  7. I agree sometimes 1911s don't always work with all mags. Guess I'm lucky because every 1911 I've ever owned worked with any mag. Sometimes you just take some things for granted. So your solution isn't going through the manufacturer. Use Springfield mags or check for fit issues with the bbl or lastly go see a quality independent gunsmith for some reliability work. And the obvious try a number of different magazines and see how they function.
  8. I've always found he load as important as the gun maybe more so. Copmaringthe guns side by side will perhaps give you a preferance but even after you find the right gun a different load could change your mind. Open guns are great once they are set up correctly. Enjoy the process of finding the right set up otherwise you'll just be frustrated.
  9. A friend of mine had his C-More loose the windage zero and found he needed to put a washer inder the screw to keep it locked down. No more problems afret that.
  10. Great idea, I'm in! My wife and I were just talking about getting toys into the Toys for Tots program earlier this year and I think the BIKE & helmet idea is awesome. Kids and bikes go hand in hand. Let's see my earliest memory is of my Dad and I putting together a single speed Schwinn that I think came from Sears. Many busted and scraped knuckles later we had her operational. I can't remember the color but like many here I rode the wheels of it. Times never really change while not a XMAS present I bought a Trek Fuel EX 8.0 and got killer deal deal on it. Needless to say I'm back into mountian biking (almost as fun as IPSC ). This bike is just insane to ride, very trick.
  11. Anybody have a current eBay or PayPal coupon code for a discount?
  12. Those of you using your Open frame and red dot with a .22 conversion unit how much did you have to adjust the sights? Just thinking it might be more beneficial to have a dedicated set up because always changing the red dot would be a real pain.
  13. What store is that? http://www.airsoftextreme.com/store/index....roducts_id=1650 They have 5 walk in stores. Looks like you're half way between two of them. Okay decided to do some internet searching best price I found on the Maxpedition Falcon Blk or OD is $88.13 plus shipping about $9 ground http://www.jadedistributing.com/index.php?...cPath=1468_1661 Another possibility similar size but at $67.77 is Tactical Operation Products http://www.jadedistributing.com/index.php?...oducts_id=27240
  14. kmca CED doesn't really have outside pockets other than the one that holds the magazines shown in the photo although it comes with detachable pouches for the shoulder straps, plus other accessories. I wish they would display a photo of a bag in a different color than black, looks like one big shadow. AikiDale what model bag was Gen Chang using? Maxpedition qualitiy doesn't get any better than this. I like extra compartments rather than just one big one. It's easier to keep things organized. CED ?? cu inches $75 17.5"x13.5"x9.5" main magazine pouch (5? Mags) lower front Falcon II 1520 cu inches $110 18.o"x4.5"x4.8" main 16.0"x8.0"x3.0" second 4.0"x7"0"x2.5" upper front 10"x7.0"x2.5" lower front
  15. I've got several backpacks mostly of the smaller version. While I too like smaller rangebags (and have them) I prefer to carry everything I might need and not rely on others. Smaller is better from a weight perspective. I've been researching the Maxpedition models since they were mentioned above. While the Pigmy looks to be therotically about the ideal size I'm not sure it will hold the gun gear as well as clothing like rain gear or cold weather gear. That said the Falcon II seems to be the right call. Having the extra compartment and size is nice even if you don't use them. Keep us posted what you discover. I received a Cleveland Glof backpack at my last tournament. It's padded, has many compartments but I think it may run on the small side. A friend of mine has the CED backpack I'll check into what he carries and how he likes it and post here this week.
  16. That;s a nice looking pack. This has my interest. Do you use seperate plactic containiers for tools/parts? Just wondering how you pack the equipment. I've used the Shooters Connection Tournament bag and am thinking a back pack might be nice. My bag carries everything I need but gets prettty heavy.
  17. z40acp Can you comment on the polymag...is it any good? Does it release cleanly from the magazine well of your 2011? Do you have a comp on yours, if so which is better steel or alum? I'm leaning towards a Unit 1 with comp. RWM
  18. I'm interested in a 22 conversion unit. Leaning towards the TS or a Marvel Unit 1 as I'd like to replicate my 2011 open gun. Couple questions for those of you using a 22 for training. 1. Is it worth it to put a compensator on a .22 conversion? 2. Has anyone put the TS compensator on their unit. 3. Can anyone comment on TS magazines vs Marvel magazines (steel)? Wonder why TS doesn't offer a compensator in blue finish for their conversion unit. Finally if the choice was a 22 conversion or an air soft gun for training which way would you go?
  19. You have way more expierence with 25-2s than me and I was concerned with lead but tried the Bear Creek hard cast bullets asI found a deal on 5K 200 grain round nose and gave them a try. Nerver miked them but they are super accurate. Prone at 50 yards I can keep them in a 3-4 inch group which is the best I can shoot. If you haven't tried them girve it a go. They are reasonably clean as well, no leading issues either.
  20. Bear Creek 200 grainers work great in my 25-2 and 625s problem is finding Bear creek bullets!
  21. +2 all my open revos now have his mount, simply the best.
