  1. Stefano can you email/PM or post his contact email? I'd be interested in more information and availability. Thanks Ralph
  2. Those shooting short colt do you have a preference towards jacketed or hard lact lead bullets? And yes blued revolvers just look right but sometines there are limited choices.
  3. I dunno. I'm not convienced an 8 shooter is a big advantage at the IRC. Aside from having extra rounds on the steel stages there was maybe one other stage where it helped to have higher capacity this past June. On the steel stages it's rare you need more than an extra shot for a make up. The 45ACP with 200gr bullets and 130pf is perfectly fine at 50 yards. Bump it up in PF a little if you feel more comfortable. I also like the bigger holes the 45ACP leaves behind. I always seem to see a scoring line benefit when shooting 45ACP. I do hear ya about the 8 shooter. I need to get a bunch of Dave's moonclips for the Starline brass I'm using and I think that will solve the reloading problems I was having. I fully agree about the 8 shooter in the shoot offs. Hell I'm gonna try to sneak my STI 2011 9mm with big stick into that puppy next year!
  4. Ahhhh so I might be a trend setter after all Sounds like a XMAS present in the making.
  5. What is your OAL? Sounds like a lower charge than 3.6gr of TG would work. For ICORE I try to get 127-130PF.
  6. Miike that's very nice. Looks like you could break out the dremel again and work down the top of the rubber grip to allow more access to the cylinder latch. Maybe it's just the angle of the photo but it looks to be in the way.
  7. This year Open S&W627 38 special V-Comp w/ C-More (had the wrong moonclips ) Need more time with this platform. Last year Limited S&W625 5" Next year Open S&W25-2 w/ C-More IRC is 6 round neutral 8 shot doesn't give you much advantage. Maybe with HerthCo's moons it would reload faster but 45ACP is about as fast as it gets.
  8. Can we get back to the topic at hand? There is an IDPA folder for those who need it. This thread has pretty good info in it about short colt data and reloads lets stay on topic please.
  9. So the greif started BEFORE I bought the vest??!!
  10. I hear what you're saying and the only place I saw it in action was at the Florida Open laast year when it got pretty chilly. I saw a lot of jackets go on then off when it was time to shoot and yep it was pretty cold with the wind cutting through you while shooting. I think it's purpose is to keep your core warmer and block the wind/cold. Hard to say if it's something that would be nice to have since I've never tried one. I'm not overly concerned with how it look, it does seem to have a bunch of features designed into it. I agree with you CED's products and customer service is first class.
  11. Come on guys nobody familar with this vest???
  12. I'm thinking of buying a CED Shooting Vest for cold weather shooting. I'd like some opinions on this piece of gear, good or bad. Buy or Don't Buy.
  13. They are definatly the slick way to reload your 10 shot revo, and there is even a nifty loading block that goes with those as well I'd like that info please. didi a quick internet search but came up empty. OOPS meant to send to 6 Shot
  14. This ones a no brainer why are the polls ao close???
  15. http://www.trijicon.com/user/parts/parts_n...m?categoryID=13 Trijicon has em for $55
  16. I have heard lots of good reasoned explanations for using the Jpoint/Docter and the Aimpoint. Just what is the advantage to the Cmore again? Let's not start a flame war but the C-More is durable, wide field of view, bright, affordable and comes with very good customer service. Another benefit is since so many use them finding batteries or even a back up scope if needed isn't out of the question. I do like the Doctor but don't like the price especially after you have it beefed up the way it should have been from the start.
  17. Yep I agree. I just posted it thinking it would help the cause. I didn't take the pic but found it when I was looking to get a red dot. There are many reasons to buy one over the other. I use the C-More if I were to get a Doctor I think you almost have to send it to Bevin Grams for bulletproffing. The pic does show Doctors have a more limited field of view but they get the scope lower to the bore and you can index off the top of the slide. Still there's a good reason why so many use the C-More.
  18. So tell me more about making this jig.....I love to tinker.
  19. Mike neither do I, but my friend who shot the qualifier with these guys said it worked very well. The heavy bullet loaded really fast despite being loaded long and was soft shooting. I never got to meet these guys but guess they had a different load for the 50 yard stage. My guess is they played with a lot of different combo and came up with something they liked. Maybe they read ths board and will chime in.
  20. At this years IRC there were some guys shooting open 627's using Vectan AO powder and 170gr LRN Beaar Creek bullets. I didn't get therir load data but it seemed to be moving away fron the norm which wasa a bullet (124-158gr). Anybody use the heavy stuff in the 38SC?
  21. Maybe I shouldn't have chimed in on this thread. yesterday and today I got some DOUBLE FEEDS. First I thought it was only with two of my big sticks but today that proved not to be the case. It happened on 3 of 6 stages and really messed things up. How is it possible mechanically to get one in the chamber then one stripped laying on top of the magazine. Sometimes the stropped round sits up vertically. It's an ugly malfunction because the only way to clear it is to drop the magazine clear the rounds reload and rack the slide...all while Mr. Time says tick tock. I still think double feed issues are spring related so despite my efforts to unsuccessfully duplicate the malfunction after the match (again proving Murphy's Law) I'm going to change all the springs and see what happens. I wanted to recommend the same to the original poster to refresh the springs going from minor to major.
  22. Indeed. The two things that are dif are the powder and pf. I do have to have the pf where it is, but I don't have to use that powder. Back off on the PF to see if the gun will run duplicating your old setup. It might have beeen tuned or it may be set up to run at 160PF. I understand you'd like the sweet spot to be in the 170+PF but first things first. You should start off with fresh springs after you determine it works first at the lower PF. You may have to work up a load and spring timing all over again. Hope it's just tired magazine springs cause that's an easy fix. edit: That brass looks fine the primer isn't flattened or flowing. What powdeer and bullet weight are you using. I shoot 9mm Major as well. Load is Mixed brass, Winshester SPP, HS6 8.3gr, Zero 125JHP, 1.18"OAL, 171PF.
  23. I've been thinking of building up a Unit 1 with compensator and red dot on an STI frame. Are the Marvels really that sensitive? I certainly don't need 1/2" @ 50 yards but 2" at 25 yards would be nice. I'm not in favor of doint he build if I have to track down specialized .22 ammo.
