  1. IMO Model 25's are one of the best if not the best 45ACP. 3"ers have always been sought after but I'll stay with the 5" and longer models.
  2. Speaking of discontinued--do you think they will start to re-make them again. Of course simple supply and demand. Same story with the 610. Restrict supply for awhile then bring it back. The key is maintaining quality.
  3. How are the VR28 lenses with a red dot (if you've tried that)? I shoot mostly Open with a C-More or Limited with red fiber optic front sight. Most of the time I use a clear lens on my M Frames unless the sun is really harsh.
  4. How do these speed loaders release the rounds, push, twist etc.? Are they made of metal or plastic Do they sell that holder as well (I know that's what you're looking for)?
  5. Good question. I'm interested as well as I have a 25-2 with a half broken pin. Yours seems an easier replacement than mine. Are these pins just press fit in the cylinder?
  6. I was actually in Phoenix and it was a Budget rental. Never noticed until I was walking away from the car back at the hotel and took a glance back at the car. No rear plates so I had to check out the front and got a good laugh friguring I caught a break. Lots of strange things go on in CA, no plates are the least of our worries here.
  7. Interesting it worked on me I missed it on the first pass.
  8. Clays is another powder that is super clean and works very well in 45ACP.
  9. I got nailed by a stationary photo van parked inbetween two bushes in Scottsdale one evening. When I got back to my hotel I noticed the rental car was brand new and didn't have any plates on it. I had a good laugh in the end. Guess they decided not to run photo recognization software to find me. Courious how this one turns out for Jeeper. It's not often you catch a break.
  10. You can call them and verify that it is the aluminum version. http://cdnninvestments.com/crasinew.html I call them tomorrow. Do you know what the dot size that comes with this deal?
  11. Pay a gunsmith the $18 bucks and be done with it. It's not even worth the time to explain it. Just get it done and done right the first time. All he will need is your cylinder. If you were familiar with the process and had the tools it might be different however this isn't a part you want to mess up on.
  12. While I agree and also recommend chamfering it doesn't need to be extreme. Most gunsmiths don't charge much to do it.
  13. Nuff said I'll just go 40 minor. Already have all the gear.
  14. I'm researching converting a Glock 35 into 9mm. The only expierence I have with aftermrket barrels is with a KKM .40S&W drop in barrel and it's great. Soooo naturally I'm leaning towards a KKM 9mm drop in barrel but am having difficulty find them. Storm Lake has them on sale everywhere for $98 that said has anybody used the Storm Lake barrel in a conversion? I'm interested in your expierence, reliability, accuracy etc. Should I change out the ejector as well? I know I should just load 40 to minor and call it a day, but since I shoot 9Major I stock more components for 9mm not to mention my G35 is growing cobwebs in the safe. If I need a Limited rig I'll shoot my 2011 so the G35 is just resting peacefully. Looking for a IPSC Production setup for cheap money.
  15. I bought an ultrasonic cleaner last year after I saw one in action after last years IRC. Man are they great for revolvers and they do clean comps pretty well. I've cleaned most every style gun out there. Until recently I've used soap & water as well as simple green neither hurts a fiber optic sight. I've cleaned them in a tank for 30-60minutes without any problems. I have not dunked a 1911 or 2011 frame in the tank unless it's time for a detail cleaning. It's not going to hurt anything however you will need to lube up everything before shooting. My comp is the screw on type and I haven't had any problems using an Ultrasonic cleaner. The biggest issue is their cost but I was patient and got a very good deal on ebay. My ultrasonic cleaner was purchased on ebay from quantumultrasonics for $182 it was a 5.7 liter model with heater. Currently this seller doesn't have anything listed but others do. This size tank can handle about 4 hand guns at one time. It's important to have a heating element as it also helps in the cleaning process. In a pinch a unit w/out a heater just preheat the water and you should be good to go. Complete disassembly isn't required to clean the guns. Field stripping them helps speed up the process. Now I use a dental cleaner for a solution also sold on ebay from Gilby Chemical. It's a concentrate you mix with water. it has a rust inhibitor and lubercan't built into the formula. Bottom line is soap & water works wonders but i do like the Gilby stuff. A tank of solution can clean many guns before disposing of it. I too had many of the same questions asked in this thred. All I can say is an ultronic cleaner is a handy piece of gear to have.
  16. LOL there are a lot of things I'm trying to figure out. The SP-01 is very nice.
  17. Try http://www.taranbutler.net/index.php?optio...ge&Itemid=1 "Taran actually moves a lot faster than he looks. He is quite tall and has long legs. He justs gets his legs moving and there is not stopping him. Try staying with him when he walks from the parking to a movie when he thinks he is going to be late. His legs just keeping moving longer and faster and he is still just walking. Economy of Motion" LMAO My guess is not much gets between Taran and a late movie call.
  18. I didn't see a difference did anybody else? Good job Nor did I but then I couldn't get the link to work either
  19. Steve, We met last year at the match prior to that you sold me the KKM barell for my G35. Guess your weather is way better this year than last. Work kept me out of the match this year. Your stage descriptions sound familiar by design. Good luck and have fun. Wish I could have been there. I recommend participating in the shoot offs on Sunday! To the rest...We need video or pics!!!!
  20. That's the pecking order of my choice as well. I'll have to try both the SP-01 and the XD but I think the nod goes to the feel of steel. I forgot about your wheel gun habit. You will be quite comfortable with the SP-01. We'll see about setting you up next week for a trial match at Norco. Hi Charles, welcome to the forum! On that limited gun, I have a feeling that Ralph may quote that "cold, dead hands" clause... Later, Chuck "Don't even get me started". Have to taske this weekend off but I'll be at Norco tomorrow. Enjoy the Speed Shoot at Prado gonna miss that one too.

  22. Too funny... Practice, what manufacturer makes that? That CZ looks nice. Never owned one now you got me thinking about it. I have a G35 that can be loaded down for Production advantage there is I have all the gear already anad I know how to work on the gun. Next logical choice would be a G34. I like the XD's and MP's guess I'd lean towards the 5" models but I need to test them out. Seems like it took the XD a while to become popular and now the M&P is comming on strong. One issue I have with the XD is parts availability. I hear they are becomming more available. I hate sending a pistol back to the manufacturer when a simple part replacement does the job. Lastly and maybe more importantly "The Shadow" what a cool name I have to admit I'm intrigued. I have to get more info on this one.
  23. I didn't add a poll because I didn't want to influence answers. In addition to platform I am interested in what barell length you recommend.
