  1. Its at 12 clock now I guess the vent holes are side out and the strap is top. I did not know you could clock a comp any other way but 12 till this post.
  2. I Still cannot pin my location.
  3. I am using a Miculek comp so what is a 1:00 the vent holes or the top strap of the comp. I would like to try it out and see if I can tell a difference. Right now I feel a little push to the right.
  4. Thanks for the info; this should be good for a lot of people. But for me 3 years ago I was a decent A class open shooter then missed the last 3 years but now I am trying to get back into the groove again and just cant seem to find it. This is refreshing some of the things I was forgetting about. Thanks so much.
  5. My stag arms rifle developed a small problem and not sure it was not my doing, so I contacted Stag and they sent me a shipping label and I shipped it back. 7 days later I have the rifle in my hands with new bolt system and trigger group at no charge, not even the shipping. This is the first time I have had a company pay for shipping both directions. It's good to know there is a company out there that will stand behind there product. Great company.
  6. thanks everyone for the help soaked the bore with brake cleaner and popped the case out then I did a good cleaning shoots fine now.
  7. Thanks for the tip. I tried that and it still did not work but it is a shot round not loaded.
  8. I was shooting my New Stag Arms Ar and was using some wolf 62 gr ammo; shot maybe 30 rounds when one did not eject when I went to rack the bolt it would not move. Looking down in the barrel the last round was stuck and bolt will not come back so I dont want to brake something. So I guess I need some help or ideas on how to get the case out with out damaging the gun. Any ideas would be appreciated.
  9. Shooting my whole life; pistols mostly. Started competition January 2000. Missed 2 years for 2 back surgery's 1 year for weddings and grand babys. Hopefully back for a while.
  10. I will say this up front. I have seen a lot of people buy the sportster bikes and not one of them kept the bike. You will be going back to upgrade. If you are going to finance the bike I would say go ahead and get one of the next models up the dyna or softail. The softail is the best riding bike. When the local dealer had there bike show I went and rode all the bikes and the softail was the best riding and handleing bike to me. The 1200 will get you around but it is sort of weak. Gas tank size does not matter to much, most people need to stop and take a break about the time you need gas. Some local dealers will let you rent bikes and you can try out a couple of different bikes during the rental period to see what you like or try to catch a dealer having a special event and you can test drive them for free. If you have never rode street bikes make sure you go with a training class. Your best option if your not sure you want a bike; buy used and save a lot of money upfront just try to get one with fuel injection. I have been riding for a long time and have had several different bikes and I just sold an electra glide and went with the Goldwing for long trips, cause the Harley just was not very good for hours on end riding at high way speeds, to much vibration. Any thing else you need just hit me up.
  11. What are you planning to do, Ride the bike for a while then upgrade or just take short rides ever now and then, solo or 2 up. It sort of depends on your budget and what you are planning to do. They are not the best choice for most people. Small motor not much power. Springer, softail might be a better choice. I can help a little more if you let us know what you are planning to do. PM me if you want to take this off line.
  12. I go back to the plate but not because I saw bullet hit dirt or I did not hear the ding I see the miss with the sights and react to the visualization not the ring or dirt flying.
  13. I have had mine for about 2 months and if I ever figure out how to use all the features I will be lucky but I love it. Especially the Ipod I use with a hands free phone and fm transmiter in the truck.
  14. Hey Bobby I wanted to send you a PM but your inbox is full. I need some info on the class.
  15. I agree with the other post. When I first made A I thought I had to pick up the speed and just fly to keep up and found out it actually made me slower. Do not try to shoot faster than you would shoot the rest of the match I have seen a lot of shooters shoot classifiers to move up but they were not able to compete in the upper class and get frustrated and quit. Shoot your level the speed will come later.
  16. Just saw this post make me a member. I do shoot guns I have built but I have placed in some matches. 2nd at area 4, 1st at Alabama, 2nd at MS In just the last couple of years but a lot more from past. Open since first year shooting and have not strayed. My great great granpapy was Robert E Lee. What else do I need to get in the club.
  17. Shoot open. I have tried everything and never satisfied with anything. So I shoot open it is the only way to go when you go blind. Cant keep up with the 20 year olds but I can at least enjoy shooting.
  18. Not on a Crouch but on a GW but rode about 4 hours this morning. Short sleeve shirt around 70 degrees here in LA (lower Alabama). Of course I have been riding all winter.
  19. dido on Matt's post bedell comp last chamber cut off and if you want a flatter shooting gun, mill some holes in the barrel. The best I have shot is titanium bedell comp with 2 V-8 holes 3/32 in size. I have shot dozens of guns and built several open guns and that was the best open gun I have shot. The gun you have pictures of is an ear killer and a beast to hold on to.
  20. Yes with different powders and bullet wieght,s you can make a 45 feel softer snappier adjust the to what feels best for you. You need to read a good loading manual before you get started. Get advice from other shooters but always go by the manual to determine powder charges. Again read a good manual do not start reloading with out reading about first. A good example my first reloading experience was not very good. A friend told me he knew all about reloading so not really knowing the differance I let him guide me with my first reload without proper manual. He said to load a 30-06 with 20 grains of bullseye ( one of the fastest burning pistol powders). I had to have a gunsmith work on the rifle to free the blown up case. I learned a valuable leason read the manual.
  21. I have had 2 back surgerys the first was a lamnectomy (Not sure I spelled that right) did not really work. The pain in my legs was gone for a year or 2 then back but worse; eventually numbness in both legs with severe pain and finally to the point I could not walk. 2nd surgery was disc removed bone graphs put in place and cobalt rods from the base to the middle of my back. I sold my competition guns before the surgery thnking I would be like most people afterwards and not be able to shoot anymore. But a year later back in the game and doing as good as ever. I have some back pain from nerve damage but that is not very often. The best things to do for your back is ice, do a lot of walking at a good steady pace for at least 20 minutes, do not ever bend over, squat with your as forest gump would say with you buttocks sticking out, epidural blocks on the back as often as they will let you for 1 year and the chances of not havg to have back surgery is better. Some people do well just doing these things and then some are like me and have to go the full route. A neural surgen is a good choice, micro surgery is the only way to go and if the surgeon you go to cant do that then find someone else. My first surgeon told me he was doing something like microscopic but when I woke up I had a 5 inch scare and I think thats where most of my problems came from after the first surgery. I have been dealing with back problems for a long time so if you need some advice or just need to talk to someone feel free to email and I can call and talk.
  22. Just wondering what the baffle on the side of the comp is and what it does.
  23. Could you add me to the back up list. Randy from LA (lower Alabama)
