  1. I read an interview that Robbie Johnson has been shooting this in 3 gun. Any updates on normal humans wielding this gun in 3 gun comps?
  2. Sounds like a great deal, thats about the only way I feel i could run that gun, and now I want one!
  3. The blue ones looks so good it makes me want to shoot one..
  4. Shoot it off the bench and adjust the sights there if need be.
  5. I have the Mesa on my pump and the 3 gun gear on my auto. I prefer the 3 gun by a hair. Less weight and a little more forgiving when im ripping shells out.
  6. Very nice, what is that going to run?
  7. Plus iron sights cost me $200 or less and an optic $500+ I am excepting donations, but until then, im shooting iron.
  8. Did anyone see the 3gun bag with the extended pouch for the shotgun on Shooting USA? I think it was blackhawk, it seemed like a good case, not sure the price.
  9. Shotgun is my strongest of the 3 yet i have never really thought about it. I think i focus on the target and when i have a miss or 2 on a stage I go back to the bead, in my case fiber optic, and get my bearings dialed in again. for long range slug, its all front sight.
  10. Do they have that book on tape? Im not much of a reader...
  11. I looked up the Range Officer and like everything I see, Im going to see if I can shoot one, or at least fondle it. Thanks for all the great info. sfinney, Remington & Sons owned the typewriter company and sold it in 1886, over 50 years later Remington Rand made the 1911A1 for the military. I know its not the same company but there is a cool relation. Remington Arms did make a 1911 in 1918 for the military for less than a year and couldn't keep up with production levels the government wanted.
  12. Great pics and detail, thank you. The STI is too much for me, was thinking more along the line of Springfield, used Kimber, S&W or the Remington. The Spartan is in the budget but i dont know much about it. I get a better deal on these bigger name guns from the gun store I used to work at, as they no longer carry STI. Also my first 1911 was a Remington Rand in mint condition that I regret selling so there is a little sentiment leaning towards the Remington.
  13. I enjoy shooting SS very much when I have borrowed a .45 in the past and ran it through some stages. I would like to get a Single Stack and have had my eyes set on the R1, then I saw the R1 "Enhanced" competition model. Im not looking to spend $1200 or be super competitive but I would like a decent gun and dont mind putting a couple hundred $ into it to get it feeling right in my hands. I just want to see if anyone has played around with the R1 or even seen anyone who has and what you think of it. How do you think this gun will stack up against other guns in similar price range? (not top of the class STI SS guns) I think the "enhanced" model will be out this summer, but im not sure. Here are a couple links for more data on the gun. link 1 Link 2
  14. G34, .25 trigger and some springs, FO front, stock rear and rubber tube grip.
  15. More pics of Jessie Abbate would be ok
  16. Im on a budget so I shoot production, I dont think there is a cheap way to shoot open. When I get everything set with my 3 guns I might start working on a limited gun, but i would rather spend my money on ammo. And I gotta get my post count up somehow.
  17. trigger connector + springs + polish + shoot = nice glock trigger. If you want a $100 trigger just send me your gun and 100 $ and ill put that stuff in.
  18. wow, great info. Trigger is next, this made me think twice about my options
  19. So here is what i ended up with for now. I sighted in on the 50 yard yesterday (I know, I know, i will get it out to 200 or so yards but i didnt have a spotting scope) everything seemed to feel good and function well. Sorry for the crappy pic, GO Gators... I think im gonna get some trigger time 1000 rnds or so and then start thinking about a new trigger.
  20. I have been shooting awhile, but now im trying to get good at it. Shooting out of Orlando, and trying recently expanding to 3 gun. Thanks for the info, these forums are more educational than 10 others, proving that its not just about the gun but the trigger time and experience from good training. -R
  21. If you can spend a little extra for the G34 you will not regret it.
  22. and you are definitely a shooter if you have ever put Flitz on your toothbrush.
