  1. WST clean burning, easy cleanup
  2. Been there done that, always told me that was revenge for women having children, if it hurts that bad no wonder they ask for drugs
  3. Find yourself a good Mod 12 Winchester Trap, most likely the finest trap gun ever made, next to it I would go with a Browning Broadway (o/u) or the Lightning also O/U they both have the Browning wide rib, looks like you are looking down a 4 lane highway, I shoot all three at trap and by a little bit the Mod 12 is my favorite. Find a gun that fits you and feels right, haard to explain but you now it when you shoulder the gun the first time. Good luck, you are getting ready to get into a fun sport that will drive you crazy one day and make you the happiest person the next
  4. To me the main question is can the shooter function in the match safely, if the shooter can do that, they should be allowed to shoot the match, allowances can be made to accomadate a person with disabilities, I'm not saying change the rules, but if a person needs to have there mag holders a little different than exactly stated in the rules, common sense should prevail, of course there are people who will try to push things saying they have problems, again common sense should come in to play, we have a wonderful sport and should allow a place for anyone that can be safe. If there is a question on safty have the person demonstrate that they are able to handle the firearm safely, no one should be against that, again common sense. Lets keep this sport going, by helping everyone find a place in it for them. Yes I was disabled for a while, I am one of the lucky ones that was able to overcome it, when I started shooting again I was aske to demonstrate that I could do it safely, I didn't get mad, I did it, don't have the speed I did, but more important I still have FUN every match that I attend.
  5. M1A is a great rifle, will do about anything you want, but the price of ammo is a real hit in the pocketbook, you can build one nice AR for that budget and still be able to buy ammo, my vote because of the ammo cost is the AR. If you have a separate ammo budget, there is nothing like watching steel fly when slapped with the M1A
  6. Mine took 3 1/2 on 16" barrel shooting 25.8 of WC844

    Para magazines?

Check other gun sites for Para mags, I just picked up 4 P16 mags on AR15.com for 25 each including shipping, look around they are out there you just have to do some digging to find them
  8. Never have been asked to pay for anything for my 550, broke a powder measure housing, called told them I did it and was willing to pay for repairs, sent it in and it came back no charge and I even gave the guy my credit card number and told him I would pay for my stupid mistake, I for one can't say anything but good about Dillon with the service I have received so far but who knows what the future holds
  9. Don't be so hard on yourself, when you buy used you don't know what you are getting or how it has been treated, most if not all have done it at one time. The great thing is it is a Dillon and they will make it pur like a kitten and you will enjoy the reloading experience, buy your ammo from anyone but Wal Mart, they have ruined so many small businesses when they come into a rural area and put them out of business, besides you are treated like a criminal because if you buy ammo you have to pay for it in thaqt dept and are escorted out of the store by management at our local Wally world, everyone looks at you like you got caught stealing or something. Make a good relationship with a local gun shop and buy from them when you can, they are the ones supporting shooting sports and there is a lot of information to be gained
  10. Are you moving your head or canting the shotgun? If you are canting yes a midbead will because it will give you a reference point to look at to keep a straight line to the frount sight, don't have the midbead if you will look at trap guns you will see very few that don't have a midbead to keep you in alignment with the fround sight. Almost all the midbeads will require the drilling of the rib, some of them are pressed in and some are threaded in and then there is the size of the bead you want afew decisions have to be made, have never seen a fiber optic midbead, most are brass don't know if you could adapt one for turkey hunting the clamps on the rib or not, might be sometthing to look at before you have the rib drilled
  11. I use Radians ear muffs and custom molded ear plugs also, seems some pistols esp 38 super have a high pitch muzzle so I put both on and turn the Radians volume up so I can hear commands and works real good for me.
  12. I shoot an M1A and reload and figure it costs me .55-.60 cents everytime I pull the trigger, my AR I figure cost me in the neighborhood of .20 cents. Most of it is economics, and the extra weight of the 308 over the AR and just about everyone has lightened their AR's in some form, carbon fiber , skeleton stocks ect which taking weight from an M1A is just asking for more recoil. I just put an SJC domp on mine and it makes a world of difference, beleive it or not, brings recoil and muzzle rise to not much more than an AR, best money I ever spent. So in my opinion I say economics and weight, can make for a long day shooting an M1A, but it is fun to watch steel FLY when you hit it
  13. Sit down, relax and try to forget it, nothing you can do about what has already happened. Then think about what you didn't do and work on that for the next match and try to do better in those areas. Doesn't do any good to get mad at yourself, that just makes you ill at everyone around you
  14. What about you grip, is it the same everytime, or reasonably close, I am left eye dominant and I have to watch myself or I will cant the pistol to the left, may not be the same with you but something to think about
  15. Without the owners authorization in writing and a list of the repairs to be done on that authorization, it would not be repaired in my business. So I guess I would give it back to the owner and hope he did not sell or trade it to someone in the unsafe condition, but we all know there are people who would and to many people that don't know what they are buying has problems till it acts up on them and they take it in for repair and find out they have been cheated
  16. I have had both the Ceiner and the Marvel, Marvel is far superior, but as stated azbove they all have problems from time to time, very ammo sensitive
  17. Be very careful about pressure or you will bend or break your op rod, I am old school 4895-4064-WC846 are the only powders I will use, these guns were designed to shoot 147-150 gr bullets, I have seen heavier shot without problems, just not worth the risk to me, good luck with your load and be careful
  18. Look at the RRA Operstor series, basic rifles without the extras and they were running a special on them, I have any Elite Car A4 and love it, I put the Dominator2 mount for an EOTech on mine, looks right over the frount sight, only problem with RRA is that they are out 60-90 days if you can't find a dealer that has one, but it is well worth the wait
  19. Have the RRA like it a lot, never have had any problem with anything RRA builds, quality is excellent
  20. Check with you local Dentist to see if he is about to upgrade his ultrasonic instrument cleaner the one I got was all stainless, works like a charm and best of all 25.00.
