i have never liked the stages...always carbine distance rifle targets. what the heck happened to 360 yd rifle targets? if it wasn't for my bud patrick, i probably would blow it off.
+10.
Let's see...shotgun around $2k, rifle at $3,200, pistol was around $3,400. Add all the mags and gear and we have over $10 grand into the sport without even thinking about ammo. And yer gonna bitch about entry fees that are $300? WTF.
I figured maybe there was some history of dropping guns whole waiting for the beep or something. If everyone started with the gun in hand off safe it would be similar for everyone too. From a real world perspective if I'm anticipating a threat or a bird or a deer I'm not standing still with the safety on either.
So I guess there is no good reason then?
So Jesse, you wanna make it like back in the day when you left the wire, the safety was off?
With all the proprietary barrel nuts out there, switching is a pain. I do not wish to removed an inner and outer nut from a sub MOA JP just to try out a lighter tube.
+10 on trigger freeze.
Now, there are a few tricks smiths use to speed up the cycling. Unlocking is one of them. Re shaping the firing pin stop helps. Have even had a lug removed from the barrel back in the day.
Built by the late dick Bancroft. He was way ahead of the curve...went with commander length slides, multichambered comps, real checkering. Started life in 45 ACP for second chance. Went to 38 super later. Still have the 45acp top end. Fun to shoot. Just waiting for USPSA to create the " classic" division. Old guns and old dudes.
