  1. per 9.2.2.2, if a competitor reaches the max time, that's the time, and you score any misses or FTE's. the rules do not state a penalty for an overtime shot, like in fixed time courses of fire. everybody agree?
  2. Here's a solution to all the controversy over full-body scanners at the airports. Have a booth that you can step into that will not X-ray you, but will instead detonate any explosive device you may have on you. It would be a win-win for everyone. There would be none of this crap about racial profiling, and this method would eliminate a long and expensive trial. Justice would be quick and swift. Case closed! This is so simple that it's brilliant. I can see it now: you're in the airport terminal and you hear a muffled explosion. Shortly thereafter an announcement comes over the PA system, "Attention standby passengers, we now have a seat available on flight number..."
  3. DQ'd a guy for an A/D at our section championship last year- hasn't spoke to me since. Not my problem, got plenty of friends anyway. You did the right thing...
  4. SPA-on my bucket list, right after Le Mans. austin is an awesome place-lots of places to eat and drink. so we take in the race and shoot a match while were at it. i'm in.
  5. FIA just announced the next US grand prix will be at a track yet to be built, outside of austin. supposed to be ready for 2012. definitely will be there, so jamie, find me a match! http://en.espnf1.com/f1/motorsport/story/18154.html
  6. Trapr- you talkin about my post? So be it, but it needs to be said.
  7. One thing USPSA has going for them-rules. I have been to some outlaw matches where some of the above occurred. Rare at a MG nationals, but they aren't perfect either.
  8. I zeroed the optic dead on at 100yards according to Trijicons website ( the top of the horseshoe ) and tested it at 200, 300 and 400 and it was adequate to make first round hits on the gongs and flashers I was shooting at. I threw it on my 20", checked the zero which was only slightly different and had the same experience. Soooo, in short, barrel length is a moot point for me. The quality, durability, optical clarity and reticle on that optic is outstanding, it is alotta money but I look at as an investment, absolutely no buyers remorse here. That being said, I did have serious buyers remorse after buying my Aimpoint comp M4, Eotech XPS2 and Leupold CQ/T, and I sold each and took a hit. I would have been $$$ ahead if I just sacked up and bought the ACOG first. Like they say... buy once, cry once. Hope that helps! gonna assume the above is a typo-if you zeroed a TA11H at 100 yds with the top of the horseshoe, there's no way you'll hit anything beyond about 200. zero it with the top of the dot at 100 meters. then, the dot holds perfect out to 250. after that, assuming your loads are matched to the BDC. the tree works for 300 meters and beyond.
  9. Doesn't matter-you just have to match the BDC ballistic specs for your load to work. My 18" barrel works great abd the BDC is spot on with loads for 55's & 69's.
  10. Been doing this longer than most and know what ilike. Fly out with trapr for our memorial day 3 gun. We'll be going out to 360 or so, bur we'll have a few a 5 Yds as well.
  11. I'm with you Jamie. Shooting 1/3 size targets at 100-150 does nothing for me. Gimme the 350-400 flashers or larues. I like the ballistic challenges and just the fact that it's a rifle, nota handgun.
  12. In Kali, you willnot be treated kindly...regardless of your status. If you carry, LEO's will not like it. Not right, but it's a fact.
  13. LMAO-but flex will be closing this one soon. Expect to be banned as well.
  14. saw that and thought of WW 296
  15. the TA11H is cool-luv mine. dot works out to 250...from there, use the tree. IMHO, mo betta than the donut.
  16. Yesterday the local SWAT team was called in to confront some idiot that discharged his nail gun at a couple duty types. I'm curious what the effective range is for a nail gun? I'm sure there will be a 15 day wait to buy them soon.
  17. This sux. All my playlists are by the dead. Hendrix, Pappalardi, Dewar, SRV, Rory Gallagher and now RJD.
  18. Jim built the beavertails byhand-welding up stock ones- he was a frigging artist...way before the curve.
  19. I hate painting. I hat that I hurt my shoulder today and have a 3 gun match in 2 weeks. I hate being old...
  20. Buy a Belt sander. Then, u can use it to do svi/sti grips with it.
  21. 400+ is cool. but if i remember correctly, at the 3 gun nationals in albany a few years ago, we shot flashers up that hill that were close to 360 yds. that little plate really looks small unless you have magnification up the rear.
