  1. not sure if they sell just the frames, but think staccato (prev STI) has lite options for the c2 and p models.
  2. went down to florida for a month and didn't really forget, but severely underestimated how many uspsa matches were available. brought my 38 super open gun so not like i could hit academy or basspro for more ammo...
  3. Couple of guys use some very effective cans in 2 gun and you really have to get the timer in there to catch the last shot.
  4. i generally shoot a stage from left to right so that when doing any reloads (right handed pistol shooter) the gun is somewhat naturally pointed downrange. also for 2 & 3 gun i use a retention (hood) holster.
  5. yeah i generally clean my 2011's after every match. the oil/dust/sand/carbon ends up being a rubbing compound which certainly doesn't help the tightness of the gun.
  6. hit a uspsa or idpa match and see what the women and smaller guys are shooting. most if not everyone will let you fondle their gun after the match.
  7. eurooptic had a low price on them as well but i don't think that low, but free shipping
  8. not seeing it on everglades' website? any idea how this compares to the franklin version?
  9. yeah you've already zeroed a stage with the dead gun. even shooting your carry gun would let you enjoy the rest of the match. just have that and a couple boxes of ammo for it back in your car. obviously would need to switch out holsters. but the once or twice i did have a gun die on me, i was so pissed off that even with offers to shoot other squad member's guns, i just stopped shooting and RO'd the rest of the match.
  10. the mbx do not have spacers. actually neither do the current sti/staccato mags. bil has some atlas mags and i believe no spacer but will ask him and chime back in if they do.
  11. just to be clear i didn't say it had to be exactly 1.15, it just doesn't like longer ammo like my other sti's do. and while i am surprised it doesn't like sti mags, clearly mbx magazines are out there for a reason. like i said not even a hiccup with shorter ammo and mbx mags.
  12. my mpa ds9 was a little finicky, but once i used only mbx and not sti mags, and got the OAL a little short at 1.15, it's been perfect all this year. and david there has been super responsive and helpful.
  13. yeah but you lose the really cool sound when the bullets whiz around in the barrel.
  14. hey, we're on the poor side, north of Rt 7, outside the town proper.
  15. Merryland allows the possession, use etc of regular/hi cap handgun and rifle mags. It just that you have to go out of state to purchase them. Dumb but i guess not unexpected.
  16. greater richmond blasters (montpelier) i think will be the closest. Fredericksburg at least IMO has the best uspsa in a several hour radius but it's off I-95 and very traffic intense. quantico does uspsa but a smaller venue than fburg. also off I95 and traffic. shadow hawk defense does uspsa, 2gun etc, about 1/2 hour above winchester about 15 minutes west of I-81. thurmont (tcsc) is <1/2 hour above frederick, MD and does uspsa, 2 gun etc. unfortunately if you're in or around cville, you're in for some driving to do uspsa. i shot at shadowhawk last weekend with a guy that drove from charleston wv some 3-4 hours each way! give winchester a look. more north and a little cooler than cville. but some rural areas where you can get some acreage. shadow hawk has some sort of match almost if not every weekend. hour or so to thurmont. or map out fredericksburg, shadowhawk and thurmont and locate centrally to them.
  17. LOVE my dawson supertuned eagle! maybe one day will get it milled. anyone mill for a direct mount, prob a trijicon sro?
  18. the whole reason i'm buying new expensive brass is to NOT have to do any extra work! so no, i haven't been tumbling. i was lubing with one-shot in a bag but stopped that. i am not running them thru a sizing die. the cases have stuck a little in the crimp die with and without lubing them. i will remove and try to clean up/smooth out the crimp die. but spritzing it every 100 rounds or so seems to have reduced the sticking.
  19. i'll tell you what this dumass forgot... to step inside the shooting area before shooting, twice, at the last match. never done that before so no idea what happened.
  20. yup, there are minute brass shavings, almost like dust. i don't think i'm expanding too much but will check the spec's. i did slightly increase the belling when i originally thought the sticking problem was the case sticking on the powder nipple. i will note that spritzing inside the crimp die with one-shot every primer reload (100 rounds) seems to have removed the sticking.
  21. will be back in melbourne from time to time going forward. will try uspsa at both but would appreciate some input over which is 'better' and why. and/or other options, incl 2 gun. thx
