  1. yeah out west would be great, esp lower humidity. but coming from virginia, florida won't be too much of a drive.
  2. back when a g19 / owb was my carry gun i shot some idpa matches with it. now that i carry a g43x aiwb i should also do a few matches with it. i don't have any mag pouches though but guess i need to work thru that. not that i'm in danger of winning any matches, but my carry guns never seem to be the 'cheatingnest' in any division and i hate automatically giving up positions... 3. i only got thru 100 of the us reloading supply but it looks pretty nice. funny though i had a primer not fully seat on a piece of federal brass. my other order is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow which will also be a nice fast turnaround.
  4. gen 1's don't have the caliber(s) inscribed on them so yours are gen 2. yes mbx will work just fine. using your 170's with the extra rounds in them over a 140 will add weight to the gun and should help reduce recoil and let you hold it steadier. but buy a 140 and see for yourself.
  5. i do a lot of stuff myself to save money, and to have it done right, but for $40-50 for a thousand 9mm brass, picked, sorted, cleaned, polished and shipped, i've been paying that for the easy button.
  6. brazos will absolutely give you their fav load or two! they are super responsive.
  7. yeah especially with 38 super, trying to unload mags (mostly mbx but also some sti with various followers) is very hard and the round either goes down or pops up. somehow they all work fine in the gun so i guess no worries. i guess my thumb angle is different than the slide/breech angle.
  8. i got the plain ol' 38 super brass a couple days after i ordered last week.
  9. both these with the full size i got a few months ago. sure they have the same options for their other handguns. super responsive, just ask them.
  10. they have removable front sights available, and rear optic plates without backup sights available.
  11. markham looks like smaller 4 stage uspsa, then deep 50 is across the state to naples approx 2 hours with 5 stage matches. volusia looks like 6 stage uspsa matches. anyone else have any florida honeyholes where they can hit at least a couple of decent uspsa and 2 gun matches each month?
  12. so just to fill in my history... got brass from millworks a year or so ago. nice and shiny, no issues. seems like they really jumped in price thus my reaching out for other options. then from bisonbrass. brass was shiny and clean, BUT had a bunch of gravel in it and (after tapping all that out) had problems loading primers in some of the brass. they gave me a small credit and said it must have missed a filtering section. just placed and quickly got an order from u.s. reloading supply (6k for $194 shipped). haven't opened the pkg yet. just sent a check to toddks for an order of cleaned and processed. will report on the last two shortly.
  13. thanks for that zzt! do you still run them thru your sizing die or do you pull that?
  14. i sent him a pm, thanks, but still open to other suggestions if he is OOS.
  15. i did see that but looks like last availability was back in May.
  16. what gun and what OAL are you doing?
  17. i had a 2011 gun builder say his fav was the 135 blues and titegroup. i loaded some and while they fit in the hundo gauge, they did not plunk in the actual barrel, so will have to play around with OAL.
  18. i just ordered a sc open from brazos, they're saying 4-5 months. bil got one a few months back and it's pretty nice and a flat shooter. it looks pretty nice but doesn't have the bling of some of the true customs but i'm more of a function over form guy though not bad to have both. i have a brazos hp edge from years back that hasn't had a single malf with major pf ammo, not sure what if anything major they did, but whatever they did is working. for me, brazos is more of a known than all the others who i'm sure are great but i just don't have experience with them.
  19. mpa aggressive is very aggressive. not familiar with cheely or pt so can't compare.
  20. holy cow, zero/roze really jumped in price!
  21. collect an extra $10 from everyone at registration and split the proceeds among everyone that does stay and help tear down and store.
  22. yeah i have a sideways-mounted cmore so with racker sticking out the right side, it won't interfere.
  23. Hi, i have an older STI steelmaster to which i'd like to add a slide racker. Would prefer not to have to find or send it out to get milled. Is it the least bit feasible to have one 'tac welded?' And if so, what would be the preferred method/materials (mig, tig, etc)? Any other non-milling options? thanks!
  24. when you buy something and go to checkout there is a box to check to keep updated. not sure how to do that otherwise, though surely you could email them and ask to be put on their list. mbx.customer.service@gmail.com
