  1. Very nice. I'll use this drill soon, good practice. On a side note, wouldn't it be faster to shoot the center array then the sides?
  2. I'm left handed. I read the course description. The second string states you must shoot T1 first. I think it is unfair, but so are many stages to us leftys. I think everyone who has ever shot T 3 first in the second string of this classifier should turn them selfs into headquarters ( j/k) On the other hand, if enough called HQ maybe it will get fixed or at least confirmed as to be shot as stated. I know at my local club, the MD/RM's take correct shooting and set up of classifiers very seriously. I have seen several classifier stages not submitted because the measurements between targets were off by a very small amount. Look at the stage drawing for Bang and Clang. Do you measure the distance to the popper from the base of the popper or from the calibration circle? What about CM 99-28 are the no-shoots suppose to be right behind the poppers or are they to be set up 5 foot at the shoulder and be useless? Yes my club is that strict. I have heard other clubs just pace off the distance between targets. Nothing I can do about that. It's not the same classifier for everyone, so it's really not fair. I think classifier stage descriptions have to be written and drawn correctly. They should be set up correctly (as humanly possible.) Then shot as written. If this course description said shoot T3, reload, then shoot T1 it would never have passed muster. It was probably written by a right handed person, checked by a right handed and made into a classifier. I have news for everyone, 10 to 15% of shooter are not right handed. But if want classifiers to be fair you have set them up as shown and shoot them as written.
  3. Ahhh, but what about if he or she shoots at a plate and hits the stand, causing the plate to fall?
  4. Very true, I never thought of it like that I guess. It did technically "react" though haha.Rule 6.1.4Knock-down targets (e.g. Pepper Poppers and Plates) must fall to score. Swinging / flashing targets must react in the manner prescribed in the stage briefing. An event official may call hits. It fell over, I would call it a hit.
  5. From one NJ guy to another, welcome to the fun.
  6. I think something jammed the powder measure, not allowing it to cycle. It happen to me once. By the time I figured it out I busted the plastic bushing on the failsafe rod.
  7. Bump to top, because it's been a while.
  8. Thank you. So if I understand you and FORS system, if I center both my sights. It will have the POI to the right. Yes, it was reading that thread about that smart guy's aiming invention that got me to cure my elevation part of the problem.
  9. I bought this shotgun used and when shooting slugs it was hitting 6 inches high and some what to the left at 50 yards. I sent it out to have some work done. When it came back it was hitting 18 inch high. After much tinkering, I figured out that the mag tube was not screwed in all the way. I applied downward pressure while screwing it in. I took it to the range and lo and behold it is now dead on at 50 yards. Now I don't need to but, would like to fix my windage. As it's hiting right where I aim. But my rear sight is almost all the way to the left and my front sight is moved all the to the right. At this point I'm confused. Before I just center both sights and start over, will centering the sights correct my windage? Or in reality is this gun hitting way to the left. I'm just lost, please help George
  10. What if we ask Brian to set aside a corner of his great forum to be the official USPSA forum? It would give a breath of air to USPSA and make more shooters aware of Brian's website for him to sell his book and Dillon stuff. Win, win situation.
  11. Are you over crimping? I do not crimp and I have no problem with my push test. George
  12. You know you could just warm your ammo to summer time temperatures then shoot it and measure it's speed.
  13. I spent the $90 for the Norgon ambi release. It works well, and with a small amount of practice it is faster for us lefties. But, and this is a big but. You may end up accidentally hitting the trigger instead of the release button. Especially if you put any kind of oversized grip on your rifle. When I was running an Ergo tactical grip and went to hit the button, the middle of my trigger finger would bend in and hit the trigger. Although the time I did DQ using the ambi release was a different cause. In that case I was doing a reload and the mag did not drop. I brought the rifle down to waist level and grabbed the mag and went to hit the release and instead I stuck my finger in the trigger guard. Lowering the rifle bent my wrist and angled my finger to the trigger, not the release. If I had not used this combo of fat grip and lefty release this would have put my finger farther forward and out of the trigger guard. I have since gone back to skinny hand grip and everything seems ok. So test it throughly before deciding to use it. George
  14. The base is 6 inches plus or minus .25 inches as per appendix B3. My question stands.
  15. Because I once set up Bang and Clang with it set to the edge of base as in the drawing. The match director had us change it to the edge of the circle.
  16. Good luck getting this one set up the same every time.
  17. The poppers are suppose to be 4 feet from the center line. Do you measure from the center line of the popper, or the edge of the circle or as shown in the drawing, from the edge of the base?
  18. The poppers are suppose to be 11.5 feet from the center line. Do you measure from the center line of the popper, or the edge of the circle or as shown in the drawing, from the edge of the base?
  19. What scoring will be used? Will there be mag restrictions in tac ops division?
