  1. That happens with the PT grip too, but less frequently. You have metal on metal vs metal on polymer. It only happens in dry fire. I have never had it happen during a match.
  2. 1.180 4.5-4.6 grains out of a 5" trojan barrel made 170-171. Very similar to your typical N320 load. Starting at 3.6 might be a bit too conservative. You can start at 4.3 I think with the OAL you are loading at.
  3. My black anodized STI grip slipped on, and had no interference issues. It still cracked prematurely. I ran mine on a limited gun. Not sure how an open gun would hold up. Max Michel told me his eventually crack as well but he just replaces them or used them until they become an issue.
  4. STI aluminum grip is garbage. Even the "updated" black one. So far I love my PT aluminum grip. It is much beefier in the area that cracked on my STI grip.
  5. BBI 180 and 200 grain all day. Chandler is awesome to deal with. Yea, I am biased. And???
  6. I sand the strong side down with another piece of grip tape. If I don't, I can't get to the mag release!
  7. Ben specifically talks about variable hand tension on page 7 of the newest dry fire book. He states you need to be gripping the gun very hard when you are in the actual act of shooting/firing the gun, but you also need to be able to turn this level of tension down a notch for manipulations such as reloads. If you are firing the gun, grip the hell out of it.
  8. I got a My Weigh digital scale. I haven't touched my Dillon beam scale in a couple years. My Weigh i201. Give it a shot. I love mine. Beam scale quicker? That's new to me. I see nothing wrong with having both around though.
  9. Some guys make a big deal out of it. I can go between my 2011's and 34's without much of an issue. 15-20 minutes of dry fire and I am good.
  10. http://www.shootersconnectionstore.com/STI-Replacement-Magazine-Tube-9mm-38-Super-170mm-P858.aspx They have what you need for open *division*
  11. I may have to borrow that one Don't. The fuel analogies don't make sense. Putting 87 octane in a a Ferrari engine would make it ping and detonate, aka not run correctly. I see plenty of 9 major guns that run correctly.
  12. I stole the idea from Jorge Ballesteros. 4.5" slide with 5" barrel.
  13. It's a bad ass gun. If ya wanna take it for a drive, let me know next time at the range. I can't say enough about it.
  14. Although my gun is a limited build, the concept is the same. I specifically told Brandon at SV I wanted a 5.4" barrel with a 5" lock up, since I run a 5" slide. This ensured the barrel didn't start tapering down too early. No problems.
  15. The problem with the holster height requirement is that it generalizes every body type/stature in a way. Some folks can run their gun in the current legal position and the butt of the grip is at their forearms with hands relaxed at sides. I'm a shorty at 5'3". My bicep touches the back of my magwell in the legal position. A dropped holster that puts the gun at the lowest legal height allowed on other divisions puts the gun at my forearms. I love shooting single stack, but drawing the gun is horrible. It's nearly impossible for me to draw the gun without contorting my body in order for the muzzle the clear the kydex. I've seen numerous slender women shooting single stack who don't need the dropped allowance that is given due to hips, etc, but because they are women, it is allowed. I fail to see how in my case, a holster dropped a few inches would give me some crazy "race" advantage. If your advice is simply to "Deal with it, 'cause that's how your body is," then that logic should be applied across both gender groups. You wouldn't catch me wearing my gun that high at work, either. That's for sure. But I still love me some SS...
  16. "cause ya got em from from me, and I'm awesome! ha ha haaaaa! I agree with Les! I would also look into the BOSS mount from Ben's shop. It's the shit! Why am I in the CZ forum?
  17. Love my Sperman grip. Looks excellent when paired with the Dawson Ice. This gun weighed 39.6 oz at the WSSSC match.
  18. Serious question. Love the products you have so far. Any plans on an STI/SV compatible easy off base pad in the common +1, +2, etc. configurations?
  19. Don't even bother. WST is the better powder. Cleaner. Edit: If you have it, by all means use it. Just know that typically WST will be preferred over 231, at least in my case, by far.
  20. Hundo gauge all day. The people who cringe at paying 100 bucks for 100 holes are the same who pay 15-20 bucks for one one hole, and take that much longer. Go figure. LOL
  21. I hate to hear that sometimes, too, but there are certain things I am working on that do warrant checking the target every string, and other things that don't. I can tell you for sure that when I work on groups I check the target after every 5-6 shots.
  22. Or you could just buy a Lee Sizing Die. IMO, if a Lee sizing die doesn't help, you need to be addressing the dimensions of the barrel. Have a gunsmith open it slightly.
