  1. Rud, Im not Nick but I can chime in here. The actual stroke and break are basically a 1911. They feel EXACTLY the same. What kind of throw's the whole experience off is the trigger safety which gives you the illusion of a longer trigger throw or stroke. Having said that, you only feel this when you're slow firing the gun as you are conscious of taking up that slack in the trigger safety. At speed, you dont feel that hinge at all and you can slap the shit out of the trigger just as well as any 1911. One thing to keep in mind is that the gun has an almost six pound break so its a tad harder to slaparoo at speed than a nicely tuned 1911 trigger at a much lighter weight. All in all, the trigger is VERY nice for a striker fired pistol and it is extremely easy to shoot well.
  2. What did you have to do to the trigger components to get them there? You say the weight is a little heavier than most other pistols. How much heavier?
  3. Im super interested in this thing but i have concerns about spare parts availability, aftermarket support etc. So many cool guns just dont make it big because of the lack of the above, ala grand power. Here's to hoping that AREX will support the pistol here in the US.
  4. Agreed. However, we all know that rules in this game are arbitrary these days.
  5. Yes, its also deemed single action...at least from what ive seen in videos. Production prohibits single action firearms, not necessarily single action hammer fired guns...Just single action.
  6. The real question that i have is... What division is this thing going to be applicable for? Its a single action gun so Production is out...right?
  7. Why not go Apex? The semi fit barrels are easy to fit to the guns, especially with the barrel fitting jig.
  8. Sear flutter was fixed by Smith when they went to the larger plunger and spring design. You will be fine using the OEM smith parts if that is what you want to use.
  9. That's going to be up to you and what you are comfortable with. Personally, im OK with a 4.5 or 5.0 lb trigger in a carry gun.
  10. Given the nature of the trigger and how crisp, short and light it is. I would strongly recommend that you put the heaviest springs in it possible. Regarding the other posts, yep, this is the kit that I was testing.
  11. I believe the LE guns also come with Tritium sights.
  12. Stake the sight not the dovetail...the sight is a much cheaper part than the slide.
  13. Bruce...sorry Alma, so are you saying that the X5 is drop safe? You seem to know everything there is to know about Sig's so what say you? There are tons of videos out there that say otherwise but as I said before, you've got the inside track at Sig so you would know better than the rest of the internet/world.

He also says his triggers are production legal, soooooooo...... Well, when you're Bruce Gray, you can say whatever you want. Duh.

Yeah but Bruce said that there's no problem...so, nothing to worry about. Feel free to drop your pistols guys............
  16. Sigh... I really wish Dawson would put that sight back into production. Every time I call them, whether its related or not I mention that sight....
  17. That is something that I did years ago. I liked the setup but its only really necessary if you find that your finger needs to break further forward in the trigger arc, ie a 90 degree "flat" break point. Its up to the shooter.
  18. The trigger return spring from the 1.0 generation competition action kit works fine. The striker spring is a little wonky as it is much longer than the striker spring in the 1.0. It works but it did nothing to reduce the pull weight in my 2.0.
  19. I dont see the point in dealing with Burwell when you can get an amazing trigger pull with drop in parts. The only saving grace that Burwell has is that he removes pre travel but...if you know how to run a trigger, who cares. Id rather save myself the headache of having to deal with him.
  20. If you like the factory pull weight get an Apex usb. That will smooth out the takeup. If you want the "works" get a sear, usb and comp spring kit for the sear and trigger return spring.
  21. Maybe. You need to remember that we are the minority. The majority will buy the gun because its FDE, ie tactical. Furthermore, the majority will buy it because its the MHS submission! My only gripe with the release of the 5.0 inch guns is that stupid loaded chamber indicator...why?
  22. Just make sure you dont get any loctite into the firing pin block recess...
  23. I guess it kind of makes sense since you can "mill a slide for sights" Shrug...

You can in carry optics apparently. Production, hell no. Grit jobs and stippling? Absolutely, but you CANNOT smooth an area to change the profile of the grip. That is a defined, visible, external change.

I'm not talking about the grit job. I'm talking about the area under the beaver tail where the ridge was clearly removed in order to smooth/blend that area.
