  1. I'll place an order for Super then. Shot a Colt single stack in mostly steel matches in the 80's and never had a single feed issue. Thanks..
  2. Picking up a Dan Wesson CCO for carry. Any reason to choose one brass over the other assuming both are available? Starting from scratch.
  3. Did he have some available then? How much? I've thought about picking up a second one, can't imagine life without one!
  4. I lied. I assumed my sight was pinned since it had the hole for a pin, but after looking at it with my reading glasses and a light there is NO pin in it. If I have trouble with it, I'll probably just pin it myself. I'm sticking with irons.
  5. Is your front sight not pinned? Mine is... running change maybe?

    Shadow 2 Compact

I can tell you, I wish the texturing on the DWX was grippier. I'm know I'm going to prefer the checkering on the S2c
  7. Single side only, if you haven't already found out.

Didn't see any on the site?

I plan on doing just that as soon as I find a S2c
  10. Another great option in seating dies is the Forster Benchrest. Sliding sleeve like the Redding Comp, but no micrometer, at least with the versions I have.
  11. Initial observation, running empty cases through, they just come to a dead stop. ZERO wiggle. I think they will work great at minimizing spillage. I'll keep the zip tie on to control wobble between stations.
  12. Completely unrelated, but as a new 1100 operator like some on this thread, I've found it helpful and less tiresome to shorten the length of the handle. It's completely unnecessary to have so much leverage when loading processed brass. The lock screw holds it in place no problem without the divot. Sorry about the drift. Waiting for delivery today of the Reloading Innovation spill stop kit.
  13. So... You were loading 100 rounds in 2.5 minutes? Good grief dude, if I ran mine that hard I'd be knee deep in powder . At any rate, I was getting some powder sloshing, just a tad, loading 223 even slowing down considerably while indexing. A zip tie after the powder drop helped quite a bit, but the Dillon shell plate seems very sloppy. This is 223 however, I haven't loaded 9 on mine yet.
  14. How is Brass Juice at removing lanolin based case lubes?
  15. I measured a few of these, and I'd have to bump the shoulder back a few thou on them anyway. And a good number of them have a bit of corrosion on them... I'm not short on brass or primers, so these will be going in the trash. I appreciate your comments though guys, good info for another time.
  16. This doesn't sound like a great idea to me, not particularly worried about detonation but degrading the primer in some other way. A friend gave me about 700 primed 223 cases that have been sitting around in his garage apparently, and are quite filthy and seem to have remnants of case lube on them. I'm not keen on the idea of cleaning them individually with a rag.... Thoughts?
  17. That's my plan now that I have a second toolhead, I'll save one ratchet intact in case for some weird reason I want to reinstall one.
  18. Just curious, are you guys removing the ratchet itself? When I set mine up, I removed the locking tab rather than the ratchet, because I didn't have anything handy to properly space out the cam bolt back to where it should be. But the ratchet itself is a PITA when manipulating the toolhead etc. I need to find some proper washers or machine a spacer for the cam bolt...
  19. Just a heads up, I got an email from the maker, Umberto. He's got a batch ready if anyone's interested. His email is.. umberto@promo.it
  20. Exactly. When I took mine apart, I could run the heel of a bullet (124 Xtreme) along the bevel and it would clearly catch on the machined surface. I chucked the drop tube up in my lathe and polished the beveled area, and I haven't had a stoppage since.
  21. I had the exact same problem. The heel of the bullet is hanging up on the entrance funnel at the top of the drop tube. It's difficult to diagnose because you can't see what the problem is. Take your die apart and look at the beveled entrance at the top of the drop tube. The machining on mine was rough and the heel of the bullet would catch on it. Polish that funnel area up and it will fix your problem.
