  1. Have you seen this?? I just last week took delivery of my Shadow 75 SDP and wish I had known about this mod! Not sure if I can link it but go to CZ Custom's site and it's on the first page...I'd like to know what's involved, love to try it.

    CCI Primers?

I have a P-01 with extended firing pin, reduced FP spring, and CGW 11.5 lb. main. I normally run a 13 lb main in this pistol as it's more defense oriented but stuck in the 11.5 as a test. I just ran 100 rounds through it with CCI SP primers loaded on my Hornady LnL, which only seats the primers flush at best. No light strikes, and that's with about half of them shot DA.
  3. I've been reading about the Production winner at Bianchi using the SP-01. I've heard Vance used Hornady HAP bullets, anybody happen to know which weight?
  4. No, the 147gr will have a higher point of impact than a 124gr bullet. Heavier bullets are launched at a higher angle because they're going slower, and spend more time in the barrel. I had to prove this to someone just this past Wednesday. Our carry 9mm ammo is 147gr, our old training ammo was 124gr, and our new training ammo is 147gr (I ordered it so it would be the same as our carry ammo). The guy carries a G19, and was saying that with our new practice ammo he was hitting lower "because it's a heavier bullet". I had some leftover 124gr in my trunk, so I had him shoot 124gr, followed by 147gr, and the 147gr hit higher....like it always does. I don't know how much difference it is at 25yds...maybe 2" or less? In reality, it was just his poor shooting causing a problem. This isn't something you can make a general statement about. Revolvers will almost always shoot heavier bullets higher for the reason you stated (barrel time/recoil).....autos are more unpredictable for some reason that I haven't been able to pin down. Just today, I bench tested my CZ P-01 at 25 yds. with several factory loads, 4 different 124 gr. and a single 147 gr. load. The Rem GS 124 +P shot about 2 inches higher than anything else. The 147 WW Ranger-T shot same elevation as the 124's, but a couple inches left. A couple weeks ago, I was testing some loads in my SA XD45 5" also at 25 yds., and it was shooting right on top of the front sight with my 230 gr. HC lead load as well as most 230 defense stuff. I then tried my 275 gr. cast bullet load at 900 fps, expecting it to shoot higher than the 230's. I'll be damned if it didn't shoot a nice tight group a full 4-5" below point of aim. Bummed me out because I intended to run this as a woods load in this gun. This load in my Rem 1911 does indeed shoot slightly higher than 230's.
  5. Interesting! My Colt 6450 purchased new a couple years ago has large stainless pins. Just when you think you have something figured out.....
  6. Yes on the JP. Be aware that your rifle likely has a large pin trigger group.
  7. It's a single stack 9 with a manual safety.
  8. Hmmm, sorry about the false alarm then. They claim to update their website "several times per hour".
  9. In case anyone is looking for one, Buds shows them in stock right now on the VIP page. Comfortech model, $1149 shipped....but you gotta be a VIP member to buy one.
  10. Well that sucks. Leaves no hope for me
  11. Damn! Its weird because it feels slow using the two round load with all of that movement of the gun but the timer don't lie! Jesse you're exactly right! It seems slow as hell as there's so much going on. Here's a couple short clips from a few days ago, I didn't get the timer but using a stopwatch on the video the first run is around 4.5-4.6, and the second is 4.2-4.3 sec. But on the second one you can see I had one shell that just flipped around on the clip so I actually only got 7 in the gun. I desperately need to learn the caddies better as there is an all shotgun state at the Colorado State Multigun with a 41 round minimum
  12. I hit a 4.47 shot to shot with my Carbon Arms vest the other day, live fire. That's starting on the shoulder, for a shoot one---load 8----shoot one. Five seconds flat is getting pretty routine with the thing, with about maybe 8-10 short practice sessions. With the 4x4 caddies I could occasionally (okay rarely) hit a 6 second run, but it would just as likely be an 8 second run or a dropped shell or two. The load two system has been a game changer for me. I'm going to continue to work with the caddies until I can at least get halfway consistent with the dang things!
  13. I used to have a 121 M1 in the 80's. The 'main' difference is that, while still inertia operated, it had a dropping locking block rather than a rotating bolt. And, I believe it cycled much faster than the current system. That was one of it's big claims to fame at the time.
  14. Wow, we had about 15 new shooters! Where/when are scores posted Mark? I'm anxious to see if I have last place wrapped up on stage 4
  15. Mods look like Salient. TiN on the carrier?
  16. Here's my camping/home defense Benelli. Factory stock M2 with 14" entry barrel. Only mod I've done is cut the carrier to allow ghost loading, so she now holds 7 rounds at the ready.
  17. I just looked them over......wow! Some of those stages are gonna have me running around like a chicken with my head cut off, but they look fun. And a swinging star?? Looks like a scaled down carnival ride. What's the distance on those farthest slug targets?
  18. I've used TK Lee for reticle work before on a couple of varmint scopes, had him do a fine crosshair with holdover dots. As far as I know the only way he can do it is to use actual wire for the crosshair with the dots attached to it. Perhaps he can overlay a wire reticle with holdover dots over the etched reticle.....? Be interesting to see what he says. The spacing between the dots would be *really* close at 1x.
  19. I have both and I too can't see how the stock could possibly flex enough to make any sort of difference given how hard and stiff the material is. I think most if not all the difference is the gel recoil pad on the Comfortech model. Which incidentally, fits on the standard stock too.
  20. One version is called the 6.5 TCU. It's on an improved 223 case however and probably wouldn't feed that great in an AR. Still like my 6.8's even though it uses different bolt/mags.....110 gr. bullet at 2600+ fps in a carbine.
  21. I had mine turned down to .650" under the handguard, and shortened an inch as well. It handles 'much' better now for me, and shoots great cold or hot. Mine was done locally by a machinist and suppressor manufacturer and as far as I know he took no 'special' precautions in regards to it being a rifle barrel.
  22. I wonder where the real difference lies....in the Comfortech stock or the much superior recoil pad that comes on it. My non-comfortech M2 Tactical came with this ridiculously hard pad. I can tell you that the Comfortech pad snaps right onto the standard stock as I replaced mine with one, and based on my shooting of both of them I think the largest benefit is the pad itself.
  23. The hammer spring legs are *supposed* to be on top of the trigger pin ckell101. One leg fits into a groove on the trigger pin to keep it in place.
