  1. Also to the OP you are waiting on a $100 frame when by the time you put in a locking block, pins, slide release, magazine release spring, mag release, slide lock and slide lock spring, and a trigger assembly even OEM you are gonna be around the same as the $175 cost. And unless you have your own FFL or live in the same area as Big Tex you also have a transfer fee, back ground check, and shipping.
  2. Yes they are. Good lord
  3. At the moment the Gen5 is 9mm there are no 40 Gen5 frames.
  4. Oh yeah I forgot the dawson asjustable sits on top on the slide. Yep there ya go a .300
  5. And your logic is wrong, it is the same length as a G24 not a G35
  6. I think he means .245. You will end up using a front sight that would normally be used with the rear you have on the way for a G24. Did they not have a sight set together? Prob need like a .255-.265
  7. I knew Barsto did, I mentioned that in the second post. Just curious who these others are that 9x45 was talking about.
  8. Who are the few that do? I have not seen a GSF barrel for a Glock from anyone in a long while other than Barsto
  9. Pretty sure barsto is the only one who makes a barrel that has to be fit anymore.
  10. The revised Gen5 is the best one yet. With the magazine cut out removed my G45 has become my favorite pistol yet. I like my Gen5 G34 also just wish it didnt have the cut out.
  11. When the X5 was first shown I even thought it might be the end of Glock in a production pistol....even bought one. But it isnt and has not been. Even with the in house super expensive trigger job by GG it is still not a competition slaying pistol that all thought it would be. I dont think making it heavier is gonna change that very much either. Sold mine long ago. Still have a GG original 320 FS 9mm that I refuse to send in for the voluntary upgrade. Still, nothing to write home about. In the end the gun itself still doesnt make the shooter...its the shooter that makes the gun.
  12. I say no...Walther did a steel frame, Sig did the infused frame. Why ride others coat tails? I love Glock and all my other guns but Glock has and has had past opportunities to do things and have a sort of custom shop and they just arnt that interested it seems. They still focus more on the military/leo contract type stuff.
  13. Follower edges chamfered on the bottom edges to allow ease of transition between mag and extension?
  14. May need to stick to a 1911 then lol

    Light strikes

There are a few things to check. All I use in my ammo are CCI primers and have no issues. So lets go through some things. As stated above a 4.5lb spring should set off all factory loaded ammo and all reloads even Tula as long as they are done right. So lets check some things. What machine are you reloading on and can you set off the light strike round on a second attempt? If so that would be a sign of your primers not being fully seated which is a must for the Glock I use a 550 Dillon and I am a stout fella and I pretty much bounce myself off the primer seat strokes. But you also mentioned it does this on factory ammo as well. So lets go further. You can start with a new spring but while there lets check these other things as well for process of elimination. Check to be sure your spring cups are not being split by the end of the striker spring coil end. If the end of the coil is at the split of the two cups move them around and away from the split. This can cause just enough drag in the channel to cause a light strike. Finally check your safety plunger and striker for any signs of them hitting each other at all. Even just a little contact (usually just a touch to much over travel removed) can slow the striker down just enough to cause a light strike. If you see evidence of impact (marks on the shelfs of the striker and nicks in the edge of the safety plunger) then you need to add some over travel back to the system. Regards, DK
  16. But they can also and prob are arguing the point that your Gen3 is not a Gen5. It is a Gen3. Last time I looked you can enlarge internally front to rear of the magwell but can not externally flare it. The Gen3 does not have these things. But WITH all the changes that have been made in such short periods I can see how it is hard to keep up as well.
  17. The Ghost One modified for the frame weight is by far my favorite. I think the locking mechanism is fair straight forward and simple. A G22 with a buried Bomar and front sight on a block is very nice! Of course a good trigger and what ever magwell you choose as well. The SJC heavy is by far and wide the largest and adds the most weight but can be picky at times of base pads, or at least the older versions (may have been remedied by now).
  18. only way I could get it to be uploaded. Cant do it as just an attachment. Remove if needed.
  19. Because when I received two that were sent for trial testing before release that is what I was told to use and have still used. Sometimes ya gotta do some tweaking to get things right. Not everything is always 100% drop in and use when still under development. You can shorten a recoil spring, and a Gen5 does not “have” to use a 14 or 15 lb spring either. Mine currently is running a 10 or 11.
  20. Dawson makes a set that fits correctly. Only ones I know of anyways. I have them on the shop Production G34 Gen5 I have here.
  21. Depends a lot upon the trigger spring and how much friction/engagement of connector on this as well.
  22. Or CCI, Winchester, and even some well seated Tula and S&B
