  1. This is a pretty cool short video of a commercial getting struck by lightning. Not sure if the link will work thou... http://s135.photobucket.com/albums/q149/meowbark_2006/?action=view&current=Lightening_Strike_-_Ground_Ops.mp4 Check it out and let me know if it opens...
  2. Mark Ronson and Amy's version; Interesting evolution of a tune...
  3. Amy's version; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hjm-v-qf67U&feature=related
  4. So I'm a bit new to some things I suppose... Just started to figure out the app Pandora. I do an Amy Winehouse channel and the song, 'Valerie' plays. Catchy tune. Makes you wanna groove along. So cause I tend to obsess about songs and stuff I look into it and the song Valerie is actually from an English band called The Zutons. From you tube I found what I think is an interesting progression of the original to the bouncy tune Winehouse made famous... The Zutons;

  6. Just got back from this one. Definitely don't take your kids. Very graphic sexual scenes. The girl is weird, but totally hot. Dark, but interesting. The story is good, but there seems to be much much more and you leave with zero clue to what that might be. Good movie. Good story. Looking forward to the rest of it...
  7. suddenly I have a huge craving for BBQ Wow. That sounds like a great lunch plan!!! Little too far from work for a regular lunch, but maybe when a vendor stops in...
  8. Thats some awesome 'Big News'!!! Congratulations!!!
  9. CoopersBBQ Nice. I like The Stockyards!!! Thanks!!!
  10. http://rudysbbq.com/page/locations Looks like there is one up near me!!! I'll check it out. Admittedly I'm a northern transplant here, but I've really enjoyed the BBQ! Took my girl to Sonny Bryans in the West End this weekend. Even better I like Mike Andersons. I hear that Hard Eight BBQ is really good. Looking forward to checking that out!!! Wrong forum. We don't allow discussions in The Hate Forum. On a side note; Smoked meats seem to be real popular here. The guys at work can talk hours about their 'brisket' recipe or something. Last night the neighbor, who has one of the huge trailer model smokers, brought over a smoked chicken for a Christmas present! Good stuff!!!
  11. I edited out all references to Roc 159's press for sale/trade. Most were joking, but as we all know we don't make deals or offers outside of our classified section. Thanks, 3quartertime BE.com Staff
  12. I typically like women with longer hair; But I could be swayed...
  13. Congratulations to the winners!!! And many thanks to the long serving members...
  14. When I was laid off I spent too much time not working. Spent my reserves and made it tougher when I got going again. Hopefully I'll not have to go through it again, but if I do I'll take the first job I can and keep looking.
  15. I think I have one too. (about the same time frame) Ditto
  16. What a cool thing!!! I live in town, but can't confess to being a Cowboy's fan. Still holding with my Colt's... If I happen to see her around town I'll say Hi! Kinda doubt her and I hang out in the same places thou... There were a couple of Cowboy cheerleaders at work the other day for a kids event. Didn't get the time to go down and check it out. Congratulations to her! I'm sure the experience will be super fun and fulfilling...
  17. Wonder how many times that money has been stolen?!?!
  18. After my kids constant bragging about how cool it was, I finally upgraded my 4 to the IOS5. It doesn't run as smooth as the guys that have 4s's, but it runs pretty good. The pull down shade is cool. The texting is better. Icloud seems pretty cool. I like the notifications, but I have to use a passcode for work so it's not as easy as a swipe to go there for me. The Siri on the 4S is cool, but I'm not sure I would use it much. We did a test the other day for lunch. We were looking for an Arby's for lunch. I did the map search for Arby's. Just typed in Arby's and the phone had to use my location to map out the closest. My friend with a 4S did the Siri and my map search was twice as fast. The Siri did work though. It's certainly a good thing if you're driving. Not sure I would use it that much... I've had AT&T for the last 7 or 8 years. The coverage has steadily gotten worse. Turning off 3G helps a bunch, but it still sux. Not sure if it's just the building or location, but one of the guys I work with just got the Verison 4S. His reception is no better than mine or the other AT&T users. Not sure why...
  19. Moved out of the Firearm Law forum. Should get some better interest here...
  20. Moved out of the Hate forum. Can't really answer questions without having a discussion! lol...
  21. Too bad about your shed. Hope everything is okay in it. I built wooden mini barns for a few years. The place that I liked the best cut almost everything at the shop. The design they used was far better than any DIY shed that I've seen. Don't know any of the current DIY models, but here are a few things I think are important; The Floor--- The ground should be the levelest you can get. If you can, do some landscaping to get the area flat and elevated. The shed will sit much more sturdy. Don't anchor it unless you really have to. One of the coolest things about these type sheds is they can be moved real easy. It should sit on the straightest treated 4X4's you can find. Two for under 10' wide. Three for over 10'. Unless you plan to put something real heavy in it 2X4's for the floor joist are fine. Over that go with 2X6's. Use full length boards. Don't scab on the floor joists or bands unless you have to. The floor is the base and it should be solid. The floor joist should be 1 foot on center. Nail each joist to the 4X4 runners. Makes it strong to move later if necessary. OSB or plywood is fine. Use the factory edges to square the floor up real nice. If you have time paint the floor when it's done. Put as many coats on as you can and let it dry in the sun. The floor takes a beating. The Walls--- Stick build the side walls. Single top is fine till you get to 16'. 12" on center like the floor. Standard shed walls are 6'. 7' makes it easier to use the shed all the way up to the edges and makes for a nice area above for a storage shelf. 2X4's are fine. Again use full length unless you have to scab. Much easier to work with solid walls when you build. Of course the top and bottom boards of the walls should be as straight as possible. No way to build a straight shed with twisted walls. Use a good quality siding for the exterior. Even if you plan to put vinyl on it get something that will resist moisture. Impregnated T1-11 is good. The siding should extend below the floor to lock the walls to the floor. About two inches of lap is good. Stand the side walls and nail them to the floor. Then put two horizontal braces at the top of the walls to set the width. That is seriously the only bracing you need! Leave the back wall and front door till the end. The Roof--- In your area I would use a standard Gambrel roof design. The angles aren't hard to figure out. Dust off your high school geometry! If needed most of the hardware stores can help. Put the trusses together on your driveway. Gang nails and a sledge is all you need. Stand the trusses after you get the walls braced. Unless there are strong wind gust you won't need bracing. 1 foot on center, right on top of the wall studs. OSB is fine for the roof decking. Use the factory edges to square the roof. Deck the upper section of the Gabrel first. When you put the decking on you'll find out it the shed is square and level. If there is a problem stop and fix it. You won't get another chance! The Walls--- Back to the walls. Stick build the back wall. No benefit to putting the back wall top board at the same height as the side walls, so use full sheets of siding and put the header where it falls. Stud it in. No benefit here to use 1 foot on center. The front and back aren't the strength so go standard 16" on center. Use the first sheet of siding on the back to final square the shed. This is the beauty of only having the two braces. You can easily move the shed to adjust for square. Square it the same in the front and your shed will be as perfect as you need it. The Doors--- The doors are a super important part of a shed. Most shed doors are very poorly constructed. Try and get the beefiest doors you can! They should be built on a full sheet of siding with full length piano hinges. You should partially cut the opening from the back just before you stand them. That is the best way to get them to swing square. You cut the final part when they are nailed solid in place. The doors are heavy! Use a ledger to set them on to get them square. Easy to do by yourself that way. Most of the handles/locks for sheds suck. If security is important use a big pad lock and ugly hasp. Vents--- Most sheds use gable vents. These are fine. Some people like ridge vents. Be careful of these because snow will blow in them. A good option is extra wall vents diagonal and low. Just gets the air moving. Overhang--- The shed should have an actual overhang or eave. I like a 2X6 nailed vertical and flush with the roof. Completely wrapping the roof pattern. Sounds kinda difficult, but it's really not. Just stand a 2X6 up on edge and nail it around the roof! Shingles--- Most people mess up shingles bad and the roof leaks. Shingles are actually really easy, but a pain to put on. Wrap the edges with one backwards. Over hang the shingles 1 inch over the 2X6 wrap. Stagger the rain grooves. Use the edges to keep them straight. Nail/staple them tight so the wind won't take them off. Add shelves and stuff as required. One addition I really like is a sky light. Really lights up a shed. Harder to shingle around thou... Caulk the crap out of the outside and paint with a good paint. Paint the inside to seal the wood. There ya have it, easy as pie!!! lol... Two suggestions; The stuff above is pretty standard for a shed. If the DIY version you are considering is way different in construction don't get it. If the physical stuff seems too much find a local contractor and try to bargain a good deal on a quality shed. The place I contracted for the longest would build a 10X16X10 shed on your lot with everything except paint for about the money you are looking at. Not sure of the prices in your area. I used to build a shed everyday by myself. My favorite was a 10X12X10. 10 wide, 12 deep and 10 high. I could build one in about four hours. The biggest one I built was 12X20X12. Took me 12 hours and I was beat!!! lol...
  22. It's amazing how effective being nice is. The company I work for understands that more than any I've ever seen. In fact many of us will comment on the difference and share stories of previous employers that were much much different! The company does seem to try very hard to express value for it's employee's, but I tend to think it's the employee's themselves. Everyone seems to make an extra effort to smile and be pleasant. Small stuff like holding the door or leaving extra paper towel after you wash your hands. I think the employee's realize it's something special and they all strive to keep it going. Kinda neat...
