  1. Thanks for the heads up. I ordered a case of 124s. The price increases have been pretty heavy - up by $100/case since my first order 2.5 yrs ago. I don't blame MG since their prices were always much better than the competition, but the prices have finally hit the point that I will think about alternatives including lead for my next order.
  2. STI 9 and 38 super bodies are the same. The 9 uses the spacer and a different follower. If you bought STI 9 mags they should have come with the spacer. Some people have success running the super follower and no spacer with 9, particularly with long loaded 9. I haven't found a downside to running the spacers so I haven't bothered to try without them. I have used the STI plastic and Hardy metal and not glued either of them in. Just to confuse things, the SVI 9mm mags do not use or require a spacer. The tube is different than an SVI super tube.
  3. Beautiful. Did the slide have markings that were removed or was it ordered naked like that?
  4. Keep in mind that idpa is in the process of updating its rule book and the new rules should be out in the next few months. If you are planning on doing anything that skirts the edges of the rules envelope you might want to hold off until the new rules are released.
  5. Looks like only black and silver are available for the EZ-off.
  6. For IDPA where you don't need capacity I would just get the Dawson Easy Off base pads. They are available in different thicknesses but don't add capacity. They are also half the price of the TTI pad.
  7. This morning over the phone a Dillon sales person quoted 8-10 wks for a 1050 in most common calibers (9, 40, 45, 223). Obscure calibers may be a little shorter.
  8. The back of the feeder manual includes the part numbers for the individual conversion parts. You are looking for part # 14224 - the 9mm station 1 locator. I needed one of those and could not find that part for sale individually on the Dillon website. It can be ordered from Dillon over the phone by giving them the part number.
  9. Try calling first thing in the morning. They open at 7:00 Mountain time. I called this morning and was on hold for about 10 mins, which isn't the end of the world given what is going on over there.
  10. Not to hijack too badly but can you elaborate on how you are able to leave the dies set and remove them without having to readjust them. Thanks.
  11. Put it on ebay. I just watched a 650 case feeder WITHOUT any shell plate sell for over $320!
  12. You have any good places to buy these prepped cases? That would only save me $100 for the super swag correct. I would still have to have the trimmer. No, most of the brass processors swage the primer pocket and trim the length of the case, so you wouldn't need the super swage or the trimmer. The processors generally charge between $30-35/k plus shipping both ways (done in bulk in flat rate USPS boxes is the most efficient) to prep the brass. Taking this approach will save you the upfront money and also save you a lot of time.
  13. You received good advice above. If you're looking to save a few more bucks, don't bother with the wrench and tool holder. It will still come with the wrenches you need, just not the holder that bolts onto the press. As said before, there are much cheaper tumblers and media separators that will do the job just fine. The dillon separator is open and I prefer a separator that has a cover to contain the toxic dust.
  14. You are missing 9mm dies. If you buy the machine in 9mm, it only comes with the 9mm conversion kit but not the dies.
  15. No it will stick out even with the lowest profile base pad. Metalform (I have only used the "Springfield or Leatham" version and can recommend them) and probably most other 9 rounders will fit flush. I don't think any of the 10 rounders will fit flush.
  16. It's just like a regular caliber change except you also need to change the two caliber specific parts on the case feeder and install the large pistol case feeder plate. The case feeder caliber conversion is less than $25 and the large pistol case feeder plate is about $35. All parts of the caliber conversion for the case feeder drop in without tools and require no adjustment so they are very fast to change.
  17. What a deal! If I didn't already have one I would have ordered for sure.
  18. And if you want something in the middle, check out the DAA 20 round checker. About $55. The holes are close together which looks like it would be faster.
  19. Just wanted to second this, and also to reinforce it with the mention that reassembling them in-state constitutes "manufacturing". To take this one step further and make things crystal clear: "manufacturing" = FELONY
  20. I received the case feeder yesterday and was able to get it installed last night and crank out 100 rounds without issue. I loaded another 200 this morning which also went really well. It's a little early for judgment, but so far the feeder is everything I wanted. It looks like the handle pulling time is about 20% less than without the feeder. It is also a pleasure not to have to take my right hand off the handle, orient the brass and shove it in the shell plate. The only problems I ran into were that a 380 case slipped into the bowl and it took me a minute to figure out why the feeder wouldn't push it into the shell plate and I ran the case feed dry once. Neither of those are the feeder's fault. Overall I'm very happy with the feeder.
  21. Thanks for the input. I'm sure the 650 is a great machine, but I'm only shooting about 7k per year and the 550 seems to handle that volume well. I placed an order with Brian this morning for the 550 feeder and will give it a try.
  22. 4.1 N320 under MG 124 FMJ at 1.147 OAL gets me about 132 PF out of a 5" 1911. I would think 4.2-3 would get you where you want to be. Obviously work your way up with your gun and check for pressure signs.
  23. 124 MG 124 FMJ over 4.1 N320 at 1.147 OAL works well with a 10 lb recoil spring in my Edge. Haven't chrono'd it through the Edge but it easily makes minor in a different 5" 1911.
  24. Oak Hill usually has them and has very good pricing. You can PM him on here to find out and ask if he can give you a cash price.
