  1. Gents For those that have the Swarovski Z6i when you turn your illumination up pretty high, especially under less than full sunlight, does your illumination wash down the left recticle hashmark, turning it orange. Just got my new scope in yesterday and noticed when indoors or overcast and turned up to the brightness I like (red dot like) and dot glow extends half way into the left recticle hashmark glowing, making it distracting. I know I can just turn it down but then it is not as bright as I like at all. If someone had a chance to take a pic on full illum indoors I would be forever in debt. Also, for those shooting the scope outdoors under full sunlight do you find you have to max illuminate or is there still room to turn it up. Seems I have to max it out to get a crisp dot. Thanks in advance Jacob

  3. Gents Does anyone know a safariland holster that will work for both STI and SVI double stack guns with short/wide dustcovers. Looking for something to fit my custom SVI for 3 gun and was wondering if anyone has tried any of the many Safariland (or other) options and what they like best with their SVI guns Thanks jacob
  4. prreed What is the piece called that stays on your belt for the QLS female peice to attach to...Its the only piece I cant find on holsters dot com. Its the piece with the loops the actual belt is going thru? Thanks Jacob
  5. Does anyone know of or if Safariland still does discount codes at holstersdotcom. Underpaid cop looking to get an ELS belt setup. Please PM me if someone can help Thanks in advance Bets
  6. Guys Do you know when installing the titan comp should it be timed to the 1 or 2 clock position to counteract the up and right recoil of the AR or do people just time it normally with the top gas ports at 12 o clock Thanks in advance Jacob
  7. Trust JP..they have been doing this longer than anyone for a reason...i just got another of their lightened bolt carriers, moves in the LaRue upper like a piston...Say it with me now...trust JP...trust JP....trust JP Bets
  8. I would suggest...and I've been thru a few by the way, to pick up the 21 inch stock benelli...Send to to Cyrwus and just have him do the following..Lighten the bolt, drill and tap for a bolt release, and mill out the loading port/extend the lifter. You can put the nordic extension/front fiber optic from brownells on yourself and if you feel the need to stipple its pretty easy...I did the above, gave up nothing I can think of to a full custom, and about 3-400 bucks cheaper than the benelli 3 gun...Mike does EXCELLENT EXCELLENT work...(and know he doesn't sponsor me) Bets

  11. Can anyone help me out with a pic of the jp's lightweight 18" barrel...Looking to build a 3 gun rifle and considering this barrel...Also does anyone know with their low pro adjustable gas block will this fit under a troy trx handguard Thanks in advance Jacob
  12. U need a strap wrench to loosen the nut that holds the rail to the barrel nut...Then to remove the barrel nut any of the standard barrel removal wrenches will fit in the holes in the barrel nut from my experience Jacob
  13. What does everyone recommend for 9mm mags in the STI...Hoping the Dawson tuned ones work well but looking for those with experience with them and the eagle Thanks Jacob
  14. Need a little advice...After obtaining an SVI 40 cal limited gun it has become quite obvious what I have been missing shooting my 9mm Glock in 3 gun and steel matches...I dont have near the money for another SVI...Considering purchasing a STI Eagle 5.0 bushing barrel 9mm to start and upgrade parts/finish as I wear it out shooting the crap outta it...My questions to those with experience with this gun 1. I am assuming it shoots fairly flat with 9mm at 140 PFish...Any regrets going with this setup vs another? Is the accuracy with these factory STI bushing guns near what a gunsmith fit can achieve? 2. With a tungsten guide rod I am wondering if the bushing eagle would weigh about the same as the bull barreled edge if desired? 3. Any other advice on a gun setup for 3 gun and steel matches...Oak Hill has the 9mm Eagle already tri topped and with a Dawson front FO sight for a good cash price and I dont think it can be beat for what I am looking for...Enlighten me 4. What is the best magazine option for this setup....I have considered ordering some tuned mags from Dawson in 9mm but having problems finding anyone who has done so and their experiences. Thanks in advance Jacob
  15. I am going to order one in 24 round configuration...Is calling down to Triangle the quickest easiest way? Jacob
  16. Gents Ordered my first limited STI pistol and I am now going over mag choices...Lots of searching here has helped quite a bit but I am still left with a few questions. 1.What is the difference between old style svi and new style svi magazines? 2.Do each have to be modified to work in a STI 2011 polymer grip? 3.If I want one reliable magazine I can do 21 +1 with what is my best choice? 4.I see SVI has new ultra capacity followers but it doesn't look as if they are compatible with STI tubes? Thanks in advance Jacob
  17. Quick question...I have big meaty hands and fingers and looking for a magwell that doesn't squish my hand vertically as much as a normal magwell...Can anyone recommend a 1911 magwell for this occasion...Been looking at the techwell TGO....any big handed shooters out there can help me out Thanks Jacob
  18. You can load 9 on a 40 shellplate...just have to use #3 locator buttons....Dont have to change anything else other than dies/powder funnel Bets
  19. Just recieved several new cr speed mag pouches for my glock mags used in production. Am I the only one who seems to have a problems getting a high grip on the magazines other that the first pouch grabbed from? I can get my pointer finger high on the first mag because there is nothing ahead of it but from there on it seems the pouch in front of the one I am grabbing from prohibits me from getting a nice high grip on the magazine and slows my insertion and the reaquiring of my weak hand grip. Never seemed to have this problem with the ready tac style kydex pouches I was using before. Not bashing just wondering if anyone else has a good solution. Maybe spacing the mag pouches apart but they seem to already take up plenty of room Thanks Jacob
  20. Been shooting USPSA for about 8 months now. Shot my 1st major match at area 3 and during the 5th stage shot suddely I observed myself calling all my shots as the sights lifted. I had been able to call individual shots on a 50-50 basis before this but all of the sudden it just happened. My question is, did those of you who are calling all your shots in a stage slowly progress to that point or did it just happen all the sudden. Looking for techniques to make sure this doesn't stop and abruptly as it started Jacob
  21. I learned quickly to bring a bag chair and some means of hauling the gear all over the range. So many guns and ammo and carry in 3 gun vs USPSA pistol that it really makes sense to purchase a garden cart or a "man stroller" Jacob
  22. Is the Twin SSL the Otto rig or are they two different products?
  23. If you are only shooting local matches a regular steel barrel may be just fine. If you plan on bigger matches with more distance (over 200 yds) I believe money is best spent on free float handguard, decent stainless barrel, and trigger. Other than scope the rest is all for minor competitve advantages which you can worry about when you skill level dictates those minor competitive advantages can be seen. Bets
