The most accurate load I have found across the most barrels...and one that I use to accuracy test any new barrels I get, is the Fiocchi Exacta 77 grain SMK. It may not be the fastest, but I have shot some amazingly small groups over and over with it. If it won't shoot that, it's probably not a shooter

I shoot around 1000 slugs a year and have shot the 7/8 and 1 oz Fiocchi slugs exclusively...That being said I like the 1 oz over the 7/8. They always run my inertia driven M2, are super soft, and accurate as I could ever ask for.

Thats going to be hard. I find it hard to beat a Harris purchased from LaRue with their mount already attached and minimized. It is the bomb...Buy once cry once for sure

BigBets replied to bigkyle72's topic in Rifle - Technical
XLR is where it's at!!! Easy to adjust and once set doesn't move unless you want. Built by shooters for shooters!! -
2017 USPSA Multigun Nationals
BigBets replied to Peter Farquharson's topic in Multi-Gun, Rifle & Shotgun Match Announcements
Is this really going to be on Easter weekend? -
That she does!! No comparison to the guns though!!

I 4 of the DPP. One on an open shotgun, one on an open rifle, and two on pistols. Delta point on the shotty and dots on the rest. All flawless, hold zero, and take a huge beating from me!!

I have definitely shot op to a MOD in matches while shooting slugs. Most MD's wont make you shoot full choke and slugs on the same stage, at least none that I have seen Jacob

You can absolutely tweak the front of the lifter up or down, can even shorten it if you know what you're doing with a file. I do it all the time

If the 1-8 is all its stacked up to be...the price on the 1-6 will likely fall or the 1-8 will rise I would think. May just make the 1-6 obselete

Does anyone know what tool Atlas is using to move the feed ramp dimensions?

For that matter if you shoot a 30 round stick you literally shoot a pound out of the gun on a long course. It's easy to chase gains with equipment for little usual gain. It's hard to chase gains through range time 4-5 days a week 3-4 hours a day. But one will make you a GM. The other will not. Ask Max and his Trubore "20 year old technology" gun. We have had this exact talk as a matter of fact Definitely pick one you like and go practice. I'm fairly certain if a gun ever revolutionized open we would all hear about it in a few days worth of Internet

Escape the Tower Equipment Suggestions
BigBets replied to antiochkeith's topic in Multi-gun Gear & Accessories
Definitely stage most of your pistol and rifle mags on the tower. Took shotgun and two pistol mags on my belt for once off the tower -
Larue makes great stuff for sure. Catch one of their half price sales and you really did well

They have always held to the 50 lb limit on any bag and I fly around 10 matche a year. If you are filling 3 bags to 75lbs you are definitely taking too much stuff!! I pack my gun case with 3 guns and chokes. 4 AR mags and 4 pistol mags in one checked bag with clothes. Backpack for carry on with broken down belt, glasses, toiletries.

Basepads on rifle mags?
BigBets replied to rootacres's topic in Multi-gun Rules / Stage Design / Match Administration
Making it obvious that there was no more than 30 rounds in the mag without having to unload was definitely the goal as I took it -
No it changes from the top, under the brightness button Thanks Jacob

Hey its Jacob..#4 on the list...I shoot an XRail equipped Benelli. I extended the main tube with an extension and it now holds 30 plus one. It has been very reliable and does offer some advantages. One being the ability to throw a determined amount of slugs in and continue with the stage much like a regular tube gun. Some planning is involved and possible downloading slightly to make sure the tube it is currently on is almost empty and has the capacity to take the load. With the new integrated system the weight is balanced across the shotgun nicely. One disclaimer...I am also 6'3" and 320 lbs so the weight of the shells and gun may be less of a factor for my frame Thanks Jacob

I have a DP Pro with triangle on my open shotgun and it has around 1k rounds of 1300 fps bird and slugs through it. Never an issue and still on the first battery. I am sponsored by them but only because they are the best!!

Get ahold of Hayes Custom Guns. I believe they have done a bunch of work on them before. Tell them Jacob Betsworth sent ya, they will treat you right!! Jacob

I have to be honest...I cannot believe anyone would be happy with that fit on a $4400 gun!!! Heck a stock STI production Eagle is tighter than that. And it can totally be fit with no play and 100% reliability. Accuracy in a gun is a lot to do with consistent lock up. With that play in lock up it is absolutely not as accurate as it could be. I had an Infinity all stainless 9mm sight tracker with 20k rounds and still no play. And not even coated!!! That gun would have been returned the day I picked it up. I wouldn't have left my FFL with it. You paid the equivalent price that if a car it would be a high performance Corvette. That attention to detail is that of a Cavalier. No one may want to say it but it's the truth. Give the builder a chance to make it right. Whoever it is should absolutely make it right
