  1. Regardless of whether it bothers you or not is moot. One of the very first rules of the game is when you are on deck you are on deck. period. nothing else. Around here I think we all got the same training because we will walk up to an RO and say, "you are coming up soon, I'll take over". It's not hilarious or even funny. It's proper range etiquette. And yes, flip and catch should be outlawed. Somebody should tell the people that we shoot with about that on deck part. You ask who knows how to run the tablet and just listen for the crickets. I prefer the tablets for the speed, but at least nobody could say they didn't know how to run the pencil and paper.
  2. I video each and every stage I shoot. I usually have a buddy record with a flip and I run a contour hd. I haven't asked anybody other than the guys that I rode with to film me in years. If they aren't available, I just run the hat cam. I don't bother anybody and nobody bothers me. I do find it hilarious that everybody is worried about not disturbing the on deck shooter for filming purposes, but 90% of the matches that I go to, I RO a squad and nobody has any problem with me having to either run the clock or the tablet for the shooter in front of me. It has taken me years to get to the point where I don't screw up royally if I have to run the squad and shoot. I can handle it now, to a point, but I certainly don't perform as well as I would if I had a few shooters in front of me to get my game plan ready. I love it when people gripe for the sake of griping. I bet you all hate it when I do the flip too don't ya.
  3. You know the 1050 doesn't have the same warranty as the rest of their machines, right? How exactly did you bend the shell plate?
  4. Ceracoat will hold up about as well as bluing. It will wear off on the areas that rub in your holster and the corners. It will look better while doing it though. If you are going to use a paint type product, plan on doing it once a year or couple of years anyway. Chrome, any of the nitride processes, or the like will last longer and not require upkeep like ceracoat. If your gun is in a racemaster type of holster it will last much longer than a full kydex as well.
  5. Yeah - i'd still love to know what it is. "A combination of certain polymers" doesn't tell me a lot.
  6. First of all, I do understand that this post was made very ""tongue in cheek", but I will make a serious comment on it nonetheless. By starting this conversation so soon after getting 8 shot minor passed, we are really perpetuating the "give em and inch...." philosophy. Lets party with the new rules and leave the rest alone. There is a place for 8 shot dot revo. It's ICORE. If you don't have an ICORE club near you, start one. If you want to shoot revo, you are basically only shooting against other revo shooters, and if you want to shoot a dot revo, you are only shooting against the other dot revos. You can do that now. If you want to shoot a dot revo and see how many other shooters you can beat, you can do that now. Further dividing a small group will do more harm than good in my opinion.
  7. Perhaps a combination of the previous two suggestions would work best.....
  8. Fwiw - all of my videos are in YouTube and I think they are still linked in my sig line. From someone who has been in both sides of forum pile on's, I would like to offer advice. Don't respond. It will pass. Learn a little humility. Everybody has to start somewhere. If you keep feeding the fire, it will only grow. There are good guns out there in all price ranges. Colt isn't the best, neither are the Filipino guns, but in the right hands, either could be a winner. I have had both, I still have my STI Spartans. Both of them have been flawless and I would take either I the to a national level match without concern. I would not expect to beat the car guy with any gun out there but you are welcome to try for yourself.
  9. PM me.....Its not about the hardware its the software....my choice of firearms is my personal reference because i was asked. If you think your SAM/ARMSCOR 1911s are so great then lets see some match results? Make a torture test video of your UBER reliable 1911. You know what they say about opinions?............ Oh, you have nothing to worry about. I always finish dead last because my gun is always malfunctioning. I'll do you one better. You tell me what gun you want me to buy. Let's not get out of control. We can put a limit of $500 on the gun itself. I'll buy it and set it up and we can play. Whatcha say?
  10. How did I miss this??? I too anxiously await a response from the car guy. Besides that, I'd be glad to compete against kimber with my "flip 1911". I'll go for pinks if you are that confident that my gun will fail.
  11. I loaded some up for 3-gun at 4.0 grains. It felt awesome in my 9mm full dust cover STI. I would imagine it would be hot in a lighter gun.
  12. I think it is "A fool and his money throw great parties."
  13. I can guarantee you that the feed lips aren't changing dimension from moving around in a box during shipping. There may be the occasional box that gets opened or crushed but 99% of boxes arrive fine and the feed lips need adjusting. I bought the mag tuning kit and have tuned my mags. Most have been dropped on concrete weekly at an indoor match for years. I may have readjusted the lips on one or two over that time. Shipping damage isn't causing the failure rate that I see. With regard to the women, arm, hand and shoulder strength leads to way better recoil control. Women simply don't have that. Can they move as fast, yes, but with more effort than max and kc are exerting. More work in moving results in a lowered ability to focus and concentrate, albeit on a small level. The differences between the top level competitors is sometimes very small as well though.
  14. I use a waterhose to rinse mine out and it just goes on my driveway. The grass at the edge of the driveway seems to love it.
  15. It's worth it though. Mike does excellent work. Stay after him.
  16. Try an air weight j frame. You will come running back to your LCR. I'll trade you straight up. Mine is cut for moon clips by TK.
  17. Bullshit. Shut it down, Fix the problem and do if right. At least spread out the reg for each match. This is so amateur it is pathetic. You can't tell me that they didn't expect this. Everybody knew this was going to happen.
  18. Since the question seems to have been ignored a few times before and the fact that the 3GN website is more confusing than anything I have ever done, I'll ask again : CLICKING THE LINK PROVIDED TAKES YOU TO A PAGE WHERE YOU ONLY HAVE THE OPTION TO RENEW YOUR MEMBERSHIP. WILL AN OPTION TO SIGN UP FOR THESE MATCHES SHOW UP THERE OR DO WE HAVE TO DIG AROUNG FOR IT AT 8:00PM(CST) TOMORROW?
  19. I find it interesting that with the benelli the 21" is the standard, and with this one people are kicking 21's to the curb and the 24" is all the hotness. Is it purely because the 21" looks so short with the long forearm on the 1301? Personally, I would like to go to the 24 just so the barrel length and the tube length are a little closer to matching. Not that that makes any difference other than aesthetics. If I wanted this shotty and all I could find was a 21" I would be all over it.
