Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I know this is an older thread but I am in this same boat now debating between the 17 and 34 MOS for CO. Curious now that it has been sometime if you are glad you went with the 17 or if you wish you would have gotten the 34 and why?
  2. Thanks for the close up! That does look great. Would TTI's "production stipple" be like this without the undercut trigger guard?
  3. I am also thinking of having my 17 stippled by TTI. I have seen the pics on their website but I would love to see what it looks like after running the gun a bit.
  4. All I have ever used is a 550 and I think it is a great machine. Not hard to figure out, easy to adjust and does pretty much everything. With that said, I do wish I had a 650 simply due to lack of time i have to reloading. I used to have more time to reload...not anymore and saving time would be great!
  5. Thanks for the replies guys. Sounds like lead contaminates aren't of too much concern with wet tumblers.
  6. I have been using a standard tumbler with corn media for years. It does an alright job, but I am tired of the dust it produces especially since people say the dust surely has lead particles in it. I am interested in a wet tumbler, but I can't help but think that water would have lead contaminates in it if the dry media does. On YouTube I see people using their kitchen sink or bath tub to rinse and dispose of the water. Is this what you do also? I have little kids and I don't want anything "lead" in the kitchen or bathtub. Am I over thinking this?
  7. I have been shooting a Trojan 40 in SS for a while now. I installed a lower lb recoil spring, use 185 gr moly bullets and use Wilson 47d mags. I know the 47d is for 45, but they have work great for 40 as well and I have not had any issues ( knock on wood). I think my Trojan 40 is a pistol I'll keep for a long while.
  8. I've wondered the same thing... If the Dawson CRP's are "tuned", what all does that include? I wondered this same thing just last week, so I called Dawson. They let me know that the CRP is NOT a tuned pistol. It is CRP due to having a FO sight, magwell and mag release installed. A tuned gun is tuned by Dave himself for an extra $200. They said Dave will go through the gun, polish where needed and improve trigger. He will then test fire it.
  9. Just got some 170 gr. precision bullets and am having a hard time finding info on what makes major PF using either WST or W 231. Can someone point me in the right direction or share the load that worked for them using these powders and bullets? Thanks,
