  1. I have been using a Lee fcd for years with no issues in coated bullets??? (124g bayou fp) As someone had mentioned earlier check your crimp. The length seems short (1.100 min) so you may want to recheck your oal.
  2. 5.4g wsf 180g tc bayou 1.160 oal makes a 170.xx out of both of my 5" ltd/ss guns. It feels a little more snappy than n320 but is accurate and much cheaper. It was ~60* when chrono'd.
  3. As others have mentioned having the flexibility to run minor or major in .40 is attractive. I have all 3 calibers and shoot the 9mm the most but you have to overcome minor scoring in paper matches.
  4. If the calibration ammo (usually a 120-125pf) knocked down the popper the Mike stands. I would have shot it again from the last position when I noticed it up. I have not done very well with calibration challenges so I always re-engage if possible.
  5. No way a 5.4" will fit the box. A 5" has very little room left in the 6" wide box. Keep,in mind the grip angles out and the barrel generally protrudes from the slide.
  6. Keep your gun up when you are moving. You will be quicker back on your sights and its a much safer way to move. Every time you dry fire practice keeping your trigger finger on the frame or top of the triggergard until it feels funny when its not there. Watch some of the top shooter with how they move and where there guns are. If you were on your sights on the target you would not have broken the 180* and would have been faster through the position. Keep your head up though. We have all dq'd or will dq. There was no AD and the RO did not have the gun pointed at him so its a learning experience.
  7. no. it wont fit the box or make weight. The rule book has the specific division requirements on uspsa.org in the appendix.
  8. I don't get the question. Use the load data provided by hodgdon???? If the oal is longer start in the middle and work up. If shorter start on the low end and work up to your desired velocity. Not rocket science.
  9. Minor is much easier to move up on classifiers. You can hose with less recoil and alphas score the same.
  10. I don't know about that. A friend has the PM-9 and I have a Trojan - they seem pretty comparable.Function wise I'd say it's even - his gun might be (definitely is) prettier. I own and have competed with both. Not in the same league.
  11. Love my pm-9. It a slight step down from a full custom but much better than the trojan.
  12. He has been shooting it off and on at Rio. Nice looking gun and he beats most the open guys with it.
  13. I have a nice 34 collecting dust I can trade???
  14. Mine loads 30 sc, 29 9mm. The rim is larger in the 9mm.
  15. I would have scored 1 procedural. His trigger froze and rather than going back in the fault lines he jumpped to take the 2nd shot.
  16. I have had that happen with the barney round but never after shooting a position with more than a couple shots. Maybe measure a good magazines feed lips vs the bad one.
  17. I have read the rule and question why it would matter if the position of the holster / mag pouches (magnets) are legal in the division. 5.2.5.x discusses division specific requirements and how to measure. My interpretation is once deemed legal you are not permitted to move equipment. (Mag pouch forward of the hip in ss or lower holster on prod/ss ect) this is an interesting rule though I was not aware of.
  18. Dillon sells the 7 hole egw case gauge.... just saying of you are up there anyways.
  19. That does not sound bright at all but it's your hands. Why not just have a 10mm barrel fit and run 10mm?

    Wsf?

Oal can make difference. Shorter will increase pressure if no other variable changes. Also barrels can be different (my kart barrel is consistently 25-30 fps faster than my sti) or other factor like bullet type, temps, altitude, ect can effect the pf. Start low and work your way up. When testing wsf I started at 4.8g and loaded in .2g increments until I found a load that all 8 test rounds made major. I ended up backing down to 5.4 as the final load.
  21. At 40 your front sight post covers most of the target and I doubt most guns are shooting <5" groups. How do you know where to move your sight?
