  1. I am very impressed with the RMR 124 fmj’s. I hit 2, 200yd siloetts with 3 shots at the az pcc match shooting them.
  2. What is a kettle ball routine? I need to speed up my entry and exits too.
  3. The first two posts are spot on and would be the same POV I would provide.
  4. Why do splits matter? My splits will be very different on a 7 yard open target vs a 15yd target with a NS. Both can have perfect or poor grip and the split difference will not change.
  5. Lvl 2 matches generally have more stages and inevitably you will have a bad stage. The biggest improvement for me was leaving that bad stage behind and approaching the next stage as a brand new match. If you blow by a target or have a few mikes or whatever, leave it at the stage and treat each stage as a New Match where you are shooting within your skill set. Don’t be afraid to push it a bit but don’t try to keep up with the GM’s if you are a C shooter. Do watch how the GM stage plan and if you have time incorporate any efficiencies you can. Don’t change your plan right before you shoot though. Someone has said a properly executed bad plan is better than a poorly executed great plan was spot on. When you are called in the hole make sure that you walk the stage and solidify your plan in your head. Stop resetting the stage and make sure your magazines are ready and you are mentally ready. After you have shot follow the RO and make sure you agree with the scoring call. (Someone will grab your magazines). No RO/CRO should get offended if you ask for an overlay and don’t be afraid to call for the RM to make a final call. I am a CRO and encourage shooters to call for the RM. I get calls wrong and have been overruled. I don’t take it personally and love learning from an experienced Range Master. Be curtious, but the rules are in place of you disagree. It’s simple to pull a target and make sure the call is correct. Be a a good squad mate. Help with reset. Most L2/3 matches are lost brass so grab a paint can or roll of tape and pitch in. It’s so much easier if the whole squad helps out and you will probably make a few new friends in the process. RO’s - they will be watching all safety matters, start conditions, foot faults, extra shots no shoots ect. Know the rule book.
  6. I have had excellent luck with the trip mags in .40. Call and get the Uspsa 10 round that fit the box. They hold 10 if you want to shoot minor and reload easy loaded at 8.
  7. Dawson had the most reliable 9mm magazines i have used.
  8. But Rich practices and knows his drops!! How are we supposed to compete with that?? ?
  9. I became tired of having guns pointed at me at the main range and refuse to go back. I have HP privileges but this is a 1 time thing so I don’t really care enough to spend time learning where my 9mm pcc hits at ~200yds. This is why I’m throwning my hands in the air and letting the internet guru’s take the wheel. I’m fully willing to accept the results of my time spent mastering the shot.
  10. That is probably a fair conclusion. I may fall into this category but I have at least 47 chances.
  11. I would assume the 124’s have a touch more drop but probably within an inch right? Did you test the loads before hand at distance? (I don’t practice much and surely won’t sight my dot in at this range prior to the match so this post will be used as my testing!!)
  12. I have a pcc Match coming up that will have 100-200yd shots. Has anyone done any testing on loads for longer than normal shots with the pcc? I was thinking of loading either 124g HAP or MG JHP to almost major (~1300-1350fps) to flatten out the trajectory but have no clue if this will Work or not. Any experience?
  13. Yes. I wipe the powder residue and sweat off after every match.
  14. I like to run my guns for about the same as a high round count big match so I am aware of any reliability issues. A glock needs to be cleaned every 1-3k rounds.
  15. Any 8-10 rd gun is lots or reloads????
  16. I use then .40 conversion with a .38sp u die sizer, 9mm powder funnel an 9mm everything else. there are a bunch of revo shooters at dillion. I'm surprised the have not come out with a short cold conversion using existing parts. load data is a whole different issue but I have had great luck with 4.3g imr pb or vit n320 160g bayou crimped at the grease groove. no bulging makes a 130pf and is super clean!
  17. I don't have any lab testing but my 160g slow bullets knock down steel much more effectively than my 124 fast bullets both making pf of 130 (+-2).
  18. By rule .40 is the smallest caliber for Ltd, Ltd 10, ss to make major pf.
  19. Yes and yes. My Cameron runs 100%. EMG custom is badass too. (Former Cameron partner). I had heard Camerons was going to do limited runs with 1 or few models but I didn't talk to him personally. There is no wrong answer from either shop.
  20. The 6" guns feel sluggish to me so I had a 5.4" built. Cameron custom removed weight everywhere and the problem was solved. They point different so if you shoot multiple platforms I would have a consistent length. I don't have any expierence with a sight tracker but would note very few if any of the top shooters use them.
  21. Im,interested in your Nordic upper.  I can do 600 shipped.  This is an open offer.  Let me know.

    1. AustinT

      AustinT

Sorry, I keep it at $600.

  22. WSF with a 180g 40s&w was a little more snappy and dirty than vit but not bad at all.
  23. Don't beat yourself up. If you play this game long enough it's likely to happen. My first dq was breaking the 180 after having trigger freeze on a run and gun stage. I 1 handed the follow up shot which broke the 180. I have never made the same mistake from the lesson that match.
  24. Bevin gram is a spring/follower/magazine guy. I don't think I would trust my gunsmithing with his shop. He sucks on turn around time if you ever hear back. (I'm on my 3rd year waiting on magazines) I have not tried other coated bullets but the bayou 147's ran just fine in my cz that have short chambers. Hopefully the bullet type will fix the issue.
