  1. Yuck. I don't care for the XDM. Would run a 320 or M&P before then. Or stick with CDP. Mag safety is very easy to remove although I'd have to double check the rulebook. Funny now that America is accepting the 9mm an an adequate defensive cartridge FN has dropped the Hi Power from production. Thanks, Cooper.... Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
  2. I thought the big gripe with the Hi Power was a fairly long and indistinct trigger reset. The Hi Power can be somewhat hard to reload because the mag, at its front edge, is about the same width as the magazine well. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
  3. I have shot IDPA on and off over the years. Mostly in CDP or SSP. But I just had some work done to a Browning Hi Power and think the gun might be a good ticket for ESP. The gun in question was a used 1988 vintage pistol with some pretty advanced holster wear. Also some slight pitting under the grips. Otherwise the pistol seemed pretty solid. Obviously used but possibly not an extremely high round count. The gun was shipped off to Karl Sokol of Chestnut Mountain Sports about five months ago. It recently came back and I used it for a portion of a Gabe White class. I haven't shot the gun for group and/or haven't shot it in a match yet but it should work in either application just fine. Trigger as measured using a Lyman digital scale is just a bit north of six pounds. I should have seen this coming since factory trigger springs are used throughout. But maybe I'll tweak the sear spring just a tiny bit. Maybe I can drop a pound off with a little careful bending. Otherwise I think the pistol should be good to go. The Hi Power, ergonomically, has always been one of my favorites. Anyone out there running one? Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
  4. Approved for USPSA production no? On a related note; Shadow Systems has a 17-ish pistol in the works. It should be available mid 2020. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

    Romeo 1 Pro

I think I'd prefer the Romeo's side mounted buttons to the Deltapoint Pro's one big button inside the viewing window. Otherwise, what's the draw to this optic over the DPP? Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

So other than the brightness/power controls being outside the viewing window what would prompt someone to but the SIG over the Leupold? Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

SIG is its own worst enemy with this stuff. Confusing numbering/no common footprint and models discontinued or superseded by others with no real way to tell what's what. Personally I find it interesting that the world's most modular pistol is limited to whatever cut came with the slide. SIG needs to come up with a CORE or MOS system or license the Unity Tactical ATOM cut so users can switch whenever a new optic comes out without replacing the entire slide. Not too surprising. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
  9. No lube needed with Lee die which is nice. Use it in 6.5CM for my bolt gun. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
  10. Thanks for the link. I am using the MA die and it occasionally nicks a case mouth. Same goes for the swage hold down die. I might give these a whirl. How's primer pull back with the FW decapper? Any sort of spring or assist that kicks the spent primer out?
  11. Maybe this will work for you? https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F323819794076 Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
  12. Probably the best case scenario for for Mini is where one press is used to load multiple calibers. An example might be something like 300 Blackout subsonic. Something that's loaded progressively but not in huge quantities where the use of a full-on feeder might not be warranted. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
  13. I have both a 650 and a Lock N Load. Presently I mostly load with the 650 and use the Hornady to remove primer pocket crimps. Both priming systems have their pros and cons but the biggest pro is that the Hornady doesn't discard a primer if no case is present. I have the improved ski jump deal on my 650 that catches most of the primers but it doesn't work perfectly and I still loose a few. Having never popped a primer on the 650, I am not super worried but I can certainly see how the Hornady is safer in this regard. Actually, especially when loading mixed headstamp 223 brass, it isn't unusual for me to prime up a batch of brass with a hand primer. This allows me to catch any issues before a bullet puller is required. An extra step in the process but not a major inconvenience. Personally I was hoping for a press with an extra die station. I have an RX with the loaded chamber indicator cut. I've been using it with a SIG Romeo and have not had issue with debris on the lens. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

I couldn't find one. Settled on a standard full-size 40 top end. It works well although I haven't shot it in awhile now. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

My 320 Compact did that with Buffalo Bore +P+ Standard pressure and actual +P no issues. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

  19. Buds Guns (probably other places too) have them closer to $1700.... Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
  20. Anyone ever see and/or shoot one of these critters? I see Bud's Guns has them for $1,700. Still a fairly stiff price but maybe not out of line for what it is. None of the shops in my area have had one to look at but I still might order one just to satisfy my curiosity. I've had really pretty good luck with Ruger 1911s as a whole. They aren't perfect but they are a solid gun for the money. How will the Koenig version rate? Will it also be a solid gun for the price? Just some random thoughts on Ruger and this new custom shop: Do something to lower the price on these. Use a different mag well. Maybe source a different hammer and sear and remove the Keonig logo. This should help get the price down. Build a version in 45 Auto. 9 is good for several applications but 45 is still viable too. Make a 45 for CDP and Single Stack. Build a version on a Caspian hicap frame. Or develop a new polymer frame that uses STI mags. I assume the Caspian route would be less expensive since Ruger already makes the frame castings for Caspian. Once the hicap is in production a base model could be produced as well as maybe something like a compact model. Something similar in size to the Wilson X9 but at a significantly lower cost. One more random thought: make a polymer hicap version that runs on Glock mags. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
  21. Apparently not "officially" announced yet. I called Dillon last week. The salesman told me the CP should be launched in a couple months. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

  23. Finally looks like the Case Prep 2000 will be ready this coming Spring. Ammobot (and probably others) are selling auto drives now.
  24. If nothing else we'll probably be able to pick up some used 1050 stuff relatively cheaply over the next few months... Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
