  1. I own both Red and Blue and have used both extensively. Both will crank out good ammo and both are solid designs. Slight nod to the Hornady for caliber changes especially if you don't own a complete separate assembly for the Dillon. The Hornady is also larger with regard to reaching into the press to right a tipped case or whatever. Also a bigger tool head area so a little more room for different powder measures or other stuff that might be tight on the Dillon. The big advantage to Dillon is that the case feeder is meant to be part of the design. In fact Dillon should just make the case feeder part of the package. Hornady (without case feed) is not as fast but it can actually be used effectively without the feeder. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  2. I haven't loaded on a Pro 1000 in quite awhile but, if memory serves, the four tube case feeder holds maybe 60 cases tops. I wonder if it might not be just as fast to have a bucket of brass next to the bench and manually drop a case into the shuttle piece. This would alleviate having to stop every 60 handle strokes or whatever to refill the tubes. Keep the right hand on the handle and use the left to set a case into the shuttle with each downstroke. Just a guess since I don't have a Lee App and have no idea how fast the collator fills the tubes vs how inconvenient it would be to manually drop a case into the slider. 3. Hmm. Looking at his photo, I don't think a Dillon trimmer will fit. Most certainly not with a vacuum adapter in place. What probably has to happen is a handle that's bent out on both the left and right sides with a big long roller across the top. Or someone can maybe 3D print a new vacuum manifold that will fit. Even then there might not be enough room to make it work. The press is still new but it seems to have already garnered a lot of excitement. Hopefully this means someone like Inline Fabrication is looking into accessories, to include a trimmer handle. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  4. I don't know if this will clear a trimmer. Maybe. https://leeprecision.com/app-roller-handle-upgrade-kit.html Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  5. I have a Pro-Jector as well and agree. They are a darned good old press. I actually prefer the old priming system over the current one. It is nice to be able to glance at the primer as it swings across to make sure it isn't upside down or that the primer tube is empty. With this all said, the LNL is a solid press. I have one of these as well and have had very little trouble with it. I don't like the powder measure setup so I use a Dillon or a Lee depending on what I load. With that said, the whole Hornady series is getting a little long in the tooth in my opinion. I would like to see Hornady launch an update. Something with a 6th die station would be nice. Also something that's designed from the jump to run a case feeder would be nice.
  6. Ideally a guy would poke around on Ebay and find an old used Pro-Jector. Convert that over just to swage and leave the LNL for loading. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  7. Slick case feeder. But the bucket mod is genuis. Probably way cheap too! Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  8. Do you have one? How was set up? Is there any adjustment for the swage? Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  9. Maybe this is the way to go: Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  10. As I kind of envision this, the Lee would be set up as a dedicated swaging machine. Brass would be full length sized on the progressive then run through the Lee to have the crimp removed. Afterwards the brass would be washed or tumbled to remove. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  11. The only thing I've found that works for swaging on a progressive press (other than the 1050) is the Hornady swage kit for the Lock N Load. It has a hold-down rod as part of the shell plate and the swage die has some adjustment so swaging can be set to personal preference. I would imagine it would be pretty easy to have someone fabricate a 650/750 shell plate with the case fingers and use the Hornady dies in the Dillon tool head. Only thing I don't like is plucking the swaged case out of the press. But some guys are clamping a section of hose onto the output die that runs into a bucket. But even without the hose it goes along pretty well once a rhythm is established. Also I wish Hornady would make a swage kit for pistol. Right now they only offer it for 223 and 308. Another option that's new to the market but looks like it might have some promise is the Lee App Press. It can be converted to swaging and has a hold-down rod. As per Lee's usual, the press is pretty cheap as is the swager kit. I might pick one up just to mess with. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  12. What's the issue with the swager? Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  13. The appeal of the press for me as as a swager primarily. As I think I've mentioned, it makes sense for something like 308. I load 308 but don't shoot a ton so it is hard to justify a full kit for the 1050. As I see this I would full length size on my 650 and then swage on the Lee. After that the cases would go into the wash. Once dry they'd be ready to load. If trimming is needed I could do this on the 650 as well. Yes. An extra step over using a 1050 to process but the Lee press is less expensive that the 1050 conversion kit. No doubt it would work better than the Swage It. Some people have had good results with the Swage It. I have not. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  14. I think there's a video on YouTube. Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  15. It does look like it swages pretty smoothly. How is the swage itself? Is it adjustable? Have you primed any of those cases? Sent from my SM-A505U using Tapatalk
  16. I assume getting the feeder to push in a new case and expell the other is going to take a lot of fiddling. Off just a bit and I'm sure you'll crush cases in short order. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
  17. Any update on the press? Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
  18. This is kind of where I am too. I am interested in the Lee as a processing machine for stuff like 308. Stuff that I reload and shoot but not in quantity that justifies buying a 1050 shell plate and other parts. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
  19. Shadow Systems has a new pistol now called the MR920. It is slightly different than the 918. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
  20. It does look pretty tiny. What is your primary plan for it? Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
  21. According to Lee they have something like a million cycles on a pre-production unit. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
