  1. Dillon should partner with Ammobot or some similar company and offer automation as a factory option. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

    Rex-0

Bumping an old thread for Rex 0. I have some I'd like to use in 45. Anyone have a pet load with a 200gr LSWC? I can always try 3.6 as listed above and adjust a little as needed. But if someone already has a load it'll save me a little time. Thanks. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
  3. Was hers any different than the Koenig? Surprised a 45 ACP version hasn't been done already. Unless the sales just aren't there on the 9mm guns. But that shouldn't necessarily be an indication of market interest. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
  4. I think it was Cylinder and Slide who used to offer cutting a standard frame to accept a wide Gold Cup trigger. It might be worth a call to see if they still offer this. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
  5. Yes. I should have been more specific. I would like to see one in person and check it over before deciding to purchase. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
  6. Anyone seen one for sale anywhere? I've been looking but haven't been able to find one. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
  7. I talked to a Dillion rep at the SAR show. He said the machine should be ready in January. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

    P320 X5 Thread

SIG is now selling a full size version of the standard X. It is basically the X5 without the mag well. Just FYI. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
  9. SIG has a new X model out. SIG W320XF-9-BXR3. Basically an X5 without the mag well. It would probably be a good choice for "the one" pistol. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
  10. With the 320 it is just field stripping the gun and then taking the take down lever out of the frame. Pretty simple. With that said (and if budget allows) I'd prefer to have an additional pistol. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
  11. Unusual thing about something like the P320 VTAC. Buy it and shoot it as a general range piece and/or competition handgun. Buy a compact grip shell for $40 and a couple 15rd compact mags for $35 each. For about $100 you'll have the ability to add a compact frame to the gun so it will conceal a little better. Or go the full conversion route and buy a compact conversion kit. Then you could have a full size gun for open carry or range and a compact for concealing. All with the exact same trigger and other controls. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
  12. So you want a Glock 19-ish size or something smaller? M&P 2.0 SIG P320 Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

  14. Ruger isn't the only company producing yesterday's pistol today. Another example is the CZ P10C. I like the CZ but it is really nothing more than a Gen4 Glock made by another company. It has an ambi slide release but otherwise there's not much there. No modularity. No provision for a red dot and no way to take the gun apart without pulling the trigger. The CZ would have been awesome ten years ago but there are probably better choices out there in the current market. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
  15. Don't get me wrong. I think the American (with the slide crack upgrade) is probably going to be as durable and rugged as anything else out there. It would probably work just fine as a pistol to be carried in the glove compartment, etc. But it is just one pistol in a market that's absolutely saturated with 17 round striker fired pistols and doesn't offer anything unique or different from pretty much everything else on the market. That's probably where Ruger screwed up the most with the American. It is a chassis gun but the chassis used in the full size and compact are unique to those guns. No way to size it up or down. Also there are no plastic grip module options. No green, tan, etc. Why make a chassis and then not make it adaptable to other configurations? Also, it would have been completely easy to add a plate for a red dot. Maybe not everyone wants a red dot on a handgun but it is one of the current trends and something that would have helped set the American apart in a crowded market. I guess I'm saying that the American would have been a nice gun about 5-10 years ago. But it is behind the power curve now. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
  16. I messed with one for awhile but then got rid of it. It was reliable but my sample shot about 4" high at 15 yards. Also, the lack of a beavertail and the fact that the slide is rather sharp meant I kept getting cut by the slide. The POA/POI issue was probably an easy fix and one Ruger would likely have done under warranty. The slide bite issue was another matter. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
  17. Hard to say without knowing your intentions. If you're wanting a shooter for plinking or something that you can throw in a saddle bag on your motorcycle the American will probably be fine. My only concern here might be the ambi mag release. The release isn't very protected and a bump on either the right or left side might push the button. A good holster than protects the mag release should be used. If you want the gun for competition you'd probably be better off looking elsewhere. There is little aftermarket support for the American. You'll be hard pressed to find trigger/spring upgrades and stuff like that. With that said; I assume Ruger will bring a "competition" model to the market at some point now that they have a Shooting Team. Also--Ruger has recently announced a recall notice. Some of the early guns might develop a crack in the slide. It sounds like the issue has already been identified and a fix found. Just FYI if you find a used gun or NOS gun in a shop. 19. I'll sell my Swage It if anyone wants to try one. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
  20. Yes. I've used this as well as the lever activated unit that's sort of like the Dillon. Slow slow slow. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
  21. Yep. Which is the better value? Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
  22. The Super Swage 600 (even with the spring) is not that great, either. If you don't have a huge need to process brass and have a single stage press already you might be just fine with the RCBS or MA swage. CH4D makes a press mounted system as well. Have no experience with the CH4D. It swages using a shell holder and does not have a hold-down rod so I can't see how it would work much better than the Swage It.
  23. I have used the Swage It and would not buy again. There's no way to adjust the amount of swage. Without a rod or backer to hold the case in place I have had several instances where a case is pushed through the shell plate. The RCBS swage system works okay but is slow. If you are swaging a bucket full of 223 it will get old really quick. Mighty Armory has a similar system. I haven't used it but I imagine it works fine. Likely no faster than the RCBS. In my opinion the best system out there (other than the 1050) is the swage kit for the Hornady Lock N Load AP. It runs the cases through the press upside down. The swage die is in the tool head and the cases go around the press on fingers. People are clamping an output hose on the press that goes to a box or bucket. That speeds things up a little. The down side is you'll spend $400 or so for an LNL and another $80 or so for the swage. Plan B would be to hunt eBay or the marketplace here for a used press. Get it cheap and set it up just for swaging. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
  24. It is interesting to me that Dillon has had zero competition in this market until just recently with the Mk VII stuff. I guess the semi-pro market is small enough that Hornady, RCBS, etc just left it to Dillon. Still, you would have thought someone else would have made a press that will swage and has a couple extra die stations. The 1050 is, or was I guess, in a class all to itself.
